Insteon Hub + ISY994 Concurrently
Yes, you can use both concurrently as long as you are aware that the ISY won't know about anything you do with the Hub nor will the Hub know about the ISY. Also, if you need to use Restore Device or Write Updates to Device or make certain changes from the ISY, it may affect the Hub device and vice-versa. BTW, I use both

Anyone use these sort of wire connectors before?
There's nothing in the code that prohibits that. I've taped some wire nutted connections on occasion when the wire nut didn't completely cover a bit of bare wire.

Anyone use these sort of wire connectors before?
Soldering wires went out in the 50's. It's no longer approved. For those who missed the experience, after the wires were soldered and while it was still hot, rubber tape was wrapped around the splice first, followed by friction tape (tar soaked cloth tape). And yes, it was quite a chore undoing such a splice, but it surely guaranteed a good connection

Anyone use these sort of wire connectors before?
I sometimes twist the wires first, always in a clockwise direction. Twisted or not, I always tug at each wire after the wire nut is on.

Anyone use these sort of wire connectors before?
Wire nuts are considered pressure connectors. As such, it is not necessary to twist the wires together, but there is no rule that prohibits twisting.

How do you get the blinds to open? close? stop?

Water/Leak Sensor no status
A wet paper towel will suffice. Wet status should appear. Dry after wet usually requires tapping the set button after drying the contacts. You can save paper by cutting/tearing the paper towel in half wetting the right half and using the left half to dry. No matter which side you wet, that will be right. And for drying, use the half that's left

It's a good day to grab another Echo or Dot ...

Removing all links without removing device from Admin Console
Factory resetting an Insteon device remotely would certainly be easier for the end user. But, factory resetting an Insteon device remotely is simply not possible. It must be done at the device itself. Security is just one reason. But you don't need to remove it from the ISY. If you reset the device manually, you can restore all the links that the ISY is aware of remotely by right clicking on the device after a factory reset and selecting Restore Device.

order of links in ISY node
Anytime a device is added to a folder, it will be at the bottom of the list. but after you log out and later log in, the device will take its alphanumeric position. Your solution is temporary

INSTEON 2334-232 Keypad Dimmer Switch with 6-Button on the fritz?
Depending on the specific version of the KPL, it may not handle LED bulbs well. BTW, "I believe," is a guess. The only responses that address a guess accurately are guesses. If you want an accurate response, then provide accurate data.

A little humor
How well did the Echo do in answering questions?

INSTEON 2334-232 Keypad Dimmer Switch with 6-Button on the fritz?
Still wondering. Nothing in the portal allows a reset, only Discover or Forget devices. Do you mean the Admin Console?

INSTEON 2334-232 Keypad Dimmer Switch with 6-Button on the fritz?
Follow Paul's advice to reset the KPLs. Yes, the tab pulls out. It's easier if you remove the switch plate. A small (pocket) screwdriver helps. Just curious, how did you reset the devices at the portal?

order of links in ISY node
Devices are listed alphanumerically for convenience (in finding them). The order has absolutely no effect on the order in which signals are sent, tasks are accomplished. You cannot rearrange the order. However, if you screen shows columns, then you can reorder a column in forward or reverse order, again, for convenience in locating a device (e.g., Insteon ID, name, etc.).

Socket Open error
I occasionally get the following error message: I can clear the message and everything functions as it should. Is this something I should be concerned about, other than the inconvenience? Is there a something that needs to be done so that the message doesn't appear?

Network went down after storm and now can't find ISY
Chances are if the LEDs are lit, then the power supply is OK. In any event, a supply from 5 to 30VDC will work. I'm using a 12VDC supply.

replaced plm
Use a 6' or longer 2-wire extension cord cut in half. Strip and splice together the neutral from each half. The neutral side has a rib, the line side is smooth. As per apostolakisl, attach an insulated alligator clip to the neutral. I use banana plugs. Most alligator clips will fit on them and you can change to different clips as needed. Attach a clip (or banana plug) to each other wire. The plug side is line, the receptacle side is load. I use appropriately colored clips. If you plug a lamp into the receptacle you can then test devices before you install them. This is also a good time to add the device to the ISY, setting anything that settable. BTW, I use a small pocket screwdriver to pull out and push back in the set button after waiting at least 10 seconds.

A question about programming Insteon thermostats ...
That's precisely what I did.

replaced plm
Remove the errant device. Power it using an extension cord cut in half (an excellent Insteon tool). A 2-wire extension cord is adequate. The so=ide with a rib is the neutral, the smooth side is line. Back to the topic. Plug the extension cord into the PLM pass-through outlet. Try restoring the device. If all goes well, then the device is OK. Re-install the device in the original location. try Write Updates to Device. If you have difficulty, then you have a communication problem, otherwise all is OK. Post back in either case.

A question about programming Insteon thermostats ...
Programming at the thermostat will continue to function even if you have difficulty with the PLM or ISY. Programming using the ISY will allow you to easily make changes as you need then, on the fly

Can I set two different momentary timeout for blinds on different scenes?
Open, close and stop are nor ISY commands, they're commands you send to the blinds to achieve each operation. For example, you may need to send an on to get the blinds moving and an off to stop them.
