If you want to issue an Off exclusively, then you may want to leave the Then field blank and place your commands as Else statements.

There is both an IR Linc transmitter (Insteon signals are converted to IR signals) and an IR Receiver (IR signals are converted to Insteon signals). I use both. The network module is not hardware. I use it primarily to control our Somfy window covering motors.

On and off turn devices and scenes on and off, respectively. That can't be changed. With programs, On runs Then and Off runs Else. You can have Then and/or Else do anything you want. For example, with window coverings you can specify that on opens or closes, your choice. BTW, some posters have had success with "open" and "close." I have been able to do that with devices and scenes, but not with programs.

1, 2, 3. Additional hardware and expertise are needed to integrates the ISY with the Harmony Hub. I use IR Lincs and bypass the harmony to achieve the same functions. 4. There is no free integration of the SY with the Amazon Echo. 5. The ISY can utilize the Echo control devices, scenes and programs. 6. Yes. 7. The network module is not required, but you can use it, for example to send serial commands to devices and even more.

What specifically about the FanLincs/KeypadLincs isn't working? Do you have four scenes for the speed and one for the light?
-
I'm not sure what "scenes need to be programmed into a KPL button" means. Scenes need one or more controllers and the scene name given a "spoken." Alexa invokes the spoken, be it a device or scene, programs are handled a little differently.

Battery powered devices need to be placed into linking mode, one at a time, in order to successfully restore the devices.

Here's a few choices for a web controllable power switch.

Ha, I just answered the same question on another forum. Nobody seems to scroll all the way down. And I agree. that's really not a great location for the command. In fact, it's a terrible location considering everything else is at the top.
-
You probably have one account for everything in you home. That's why I have different accounts based on the location of my Echos (3) and Dots (3). I really don't need to control every device from every location, so I have four (free) portal accounts. One advantage is that when I ask Alexa to turn on the "light," only the light in the room I'm in turns on.

The old version is not available for download/enabling, but that does not disable the version already installed. Your system would have continued to function

Too late now, but it's best to forget first and then rediscover devices. Forget all is at the very bottom

HOW TO SAVE 66% ON YOUR AC BILL AND STILL ENJOY A COOL HOUSE!!!

I'd certainly be interested in an algorithm that can outsmart a thermostat to maintain ambient temperature--most especially if it depends on the thermostat -
No. There's a MobiLinc portal exclusively for MobiLinc and an ISY portal for the ISY only. You can use one or the other, but not both. OTOH, MobiLinc, when set up properly should not lose the connection when your ISP change the WAN IP (virtually all ISPs do that). Did you set up MobiLinc to use your LAN IP and forwarded port?

The Insteon protocol was dual-band from the onset. The original products, based on proven power line reliability did not include RF capability. RF was added to products over time. There are still some devices without that capability, but the standard has been there from the beginning.

Beta or not, there's no choice. You either stay with what you have or update. There's no going back.

That's in accordance with the code. Virtually every 3-way configuration that's wired with Romex has at least one white wire that's not a neutral. The code requires that it be marked as such, although that's not always done. I also hear quite often that the electrician used non-standard wiring in a 3-way configuration. Not so. Although there are many ways to route the cables and the power can enter any on of the three boxes involved (fixture box, 2 switch boxes), there is one and only one correct way to connect those wires. line---3-way switch===travelers===3-way switch---load
-
Where is it other end of the 3-wire cable that terminates at box 1? Was that originally a 3-way switch? If box 2 has only black and white, then it was not originally a 3-way switch. If there is only black and white, then white is line and black is load. How are you powering the Inseon device in box 2? Something is missing from your description.

Cables are grouped in bundles of black and white or black red and white. Describe each bundle. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

If you want to control your HVAC based on external temperature, then only a sensor within feet of your home will suffice.

What's the result if you enter http instead of https?

Up and running. Thanks again, Michel. The solution:
-
All of our KPL buttons (12 6-button dimmers, 3 8-button dimmers, 3 On/Off KPLs, 2 of which are reconfigured as 8-button) are clearly labelled for easy guest use. Every one of our two dozen paddle switches are labelled, too.

Good grief. I certainly don't want to start a war with our thermostats. At least my wife and I have come to terms with our remotes

Hi Michel, I was able to log in and correct the mess I created. Sadly, the situation is significantly worse. I no longer have any portal accounts. This is when I was overcoming a problem adding a fourth account some months ago. I was successful and have been running all four accounts. This is what I have now. I did follow the procedure to create a portal account and even got messages that everything went OK (e.g., You can close this window). But no success. Thanks for any help you can provide. Respectfully, Stu Edit: Help, Purchase Modules indicates that the portal is inactive.
