    Thermostat

There's a button under the front panel labelled MASTER. It's functional only if a wired and wireless thermostat are linked.
  3. All wired devices will function independently. Although the wire colors are obvious, the electrician needs to be aware that the devices require line and neutral. All devices will retain their links (scenes) if you do not factory reset each and every device.
  4. The # is on a scale from 0 to 10. On and Off are not to turn the device on or off, they're to set the On brightness and the Off brightness of the KeypadLinc button LEDs.

BE469 if you also want status. BE369 is less costly, but does not provide status. Either can be locked and unlocked remotely (i.e., using the ISY directly or an Insteon device via a program).
  7. What do you mean by, "it does not work?" The device don't turn on or they don't turn off or both? The usual procedure does not test for status. If From Sunset To Sunrise (next day) Next day matters because sunrise the same day precedes the From time, so the statement is always false Then Turn on the scene that include all the devices you want to control as responders
  8. The ISY needs to restart to complete writing the links. If there was a lot of traffic during the restoration (i.e., busy), then you need to rewrite the links (Restore Device). Not common, but ..it happens.
  9. None in revision 4+. I don't know if revision 5 (Alpha only) does or will support multiple users with different privileges. BTW, others have asked for the same feature.

    Thermostat

One of my several thermostats doesn't always update the ISY. A workaround, if possible, depends on your specific program. Post it here (right click on the program name, select Copy to Clipboard).
  11. I have eight I/O Lincs in use (5 are v.36, 3 are v.41). On turns the relay on and off turns it off. It doesn't matter if I control the relay directly, via a scene or a program.

    Thermostat

    Which thermostat?
  13. A Z-Wave controller cannot see any Insteon devices nor can Insteon devices respond to Z-Wave. A program is needed to interface the two. But, not all Z-wave devices report their status. Lutron Z-Wave devices do and a few others. but I don't have a list. You may need the 2gig panel to control an otherwise unused Z-wave device.
  14. Yes, you can use most Z-Wave products to control Insteon devices (via programs) and vice-versa.
  15. You are correct. The Micro Dimmer requires a dual-monetary switch to achieve manual dimming. But I'd inquire about the 12-volt pulse before buying the switch. BTW, you lengthy description was just that, lengthy
  16. Condo, co-ops and apartments have covenants. Homes (usually) don't.
  17. Change the user name and password to the default and factory reset (or not) and give the new owner this link (or print it): http://www.universal-devices.com/docs/production/user_guide_3.2.6.pdf
  18. If your'e going to use an ISY to control watering, then the EZFlora is the way to go. If not, then IMO the easiest controller for making changes to any or all of the zones, days, times and/or the duration of watering is the Orbit.
  19. What's the result of All On and All Off if the sensor is not connected to anything?
  20. You have stairs with 12" risers? The kids don't lock the garage door?
  21. Locks are an unnecessary expense as are interior doors
  22. A micro switch or the device you linked to doesn't do much to weaken the door. A hidden door sensor does.
  23. If it's a metal door, then it is safe to drill a hole for the hidden door sensor, but the signal may not reach anything. BTW, if kicking a metal door to open it is successful, then an interior metal door was used. I've been in the construction industry to know that an exterior metal door won't easily buckle.
  24. It just doesn't make sense to specifically weaken an entry point, most especially when an HA device is available to better accomplish the task.
  25. Wow, that makes it easy to kick open the door right at the point where the deadbolt is installed
