  1. I believe you misunderstood me. I did not think that UDI needs to justify themselves nor do I think the Polisy is a rip off. My comment about "cant justify the price" was meant to understand if the price was discounted because the polisy wont have met it's full potential yet, therefore for now, charging less. No need to get defensive as I am a big supporter of UDI and have been for years. Thanks for the discounted price.
  2. @Michel Kohanim Did the discounted price on the preorder have anything to do with the fact that UDI cant justify charging the full price until the polisy is capable of becoming a fully functional isy? Or is it simply a sale?
  3. Apology accepted
  4. $402 CAN includes $36US shipping which I thought was a bit steep. Thanks for the link
  5. Serious? I HAVENT SEEN IT AND I DONT OWN A RPI. That's why I just spent $400 on your polisy. Your reply could have been less rude. I was just asking.
  6. @MichelKohanim When can we see some software screenshots?
  7. Just bought the pro. Now the countdown begins.
  8. I was curious how many have already ordered the Polisy and which one they bought
  9. Sounds like from what all of you are saying is, the extra $50 is worth it now or at least long term. I just wish the Canadian dollar wasnt so bad right now. Looks like $35 US for shipping, also. I wonder how long it will take for the regular price to drop, after release.

Just wondering if the pro is worth the extra $50 1. My understanding is that the only hardware difference between the reg polisy and the pro is wifi and bluetooth but software wise they are going to be the same including amounts of nodes and programs. Is this correct? 2. What is the function of wifi? Is it only to avoid plugging in a ethernet cable? 3. What is the foreseeable practical use of the bluetooth? Reason I ask is when I bought my isy, I didnt get the zwave pro and wished I did. Just dont want any regrets this time. Thanks
  11. So how many nodes and programs will the current Polisy be capable of? Or do you know yet
  12. What do you mean by polisy pro xyz? Do you mean future models of polisy?
  13. @Michel Kohanim When the polisy is capable of replacing the isy, will there be a difference in the limit of devices and programs between the non pro and pro? Will the limits be more than the current isy pro? Thanks
  14. @Michel Kohanim You mentioned the db9 jack will be used to communicate with insteon. Does that mean it connects to the PLM or the PLM wont be needed?
  15. Until now I did not see you specify the "current polisy models". That's why I asked that specific question. I assumed over the years the isy has been upgraded with newer hardware like zwave and and the hardware capabilities of the early "isy" models were not as robust. I just wanted to be specific if these entry level "polisy" were capable of replacing isy in the future or you were just speaking of "polisy" in general requiring future models of "polisy". Thank you for clearing that up.
  16. Did you read my question? I asked if the current hardware version of the polisy will be capable of replacing the isy. No where did I see a model number for the current version so all he said was Polisy will replace it. I asked a specific question. Maybe a newer hardware version of "polisy" will be required in the future to achieve what was stated. Are you here to moderate this forum? I guess were not all as smart as you are. I will ask the questions I'm curious about and if you dont like the way I ask questions in my own thread then dont read it.
  17. I would rather not read between the lines when deciding to buy. For all I know that year was spent testing the software not the hardware. But thanks for the input.
  18. I guess what i mean by future proof is, when the polyisy is capable of being a stand alone "isy", will the current models (hardware wise) be all we would need. Thanks
  19. Thanks for the reply. At this point with people having limited knowledge, your comments are greatly needed. Just to clarify a couple of my original questions. 1. Will ELK still have the same support with Polisy as the isy does? 2.Are the 2 current versions of Polisy, future proof in terms of hardware, when the Polisy replaces the Isy or will there be new versions 3. Can you explain a bit more about your zwave comment, will and addon for zwave be needed later? Thanks again
  20. I feel the same. Only if it will replace the isy in the future
  21. I used a multi plug adapter with a 9v setting. been working for years outdoors
  22. Are the texts being sent through your ISP?
  23. If Polisy will become the new ISY: What is the time frame for this to happen? Will the current standard and pro versions that are on pre order now, be hardware ready for the future replacement of the ISY? Will the standard version or the pro version be zwave capable with its current hardware or will a new Polisy versions have to be released in the future? Will ELK be compatible and unchanged? Im very interested in purchasing the Polisy but I just want to know what im getting into first. Thanks
