  1. I just checked and yes, for some reason I had a program also controlling the lights. I disabled it and will see if it stops happening. Thanks guys
  2. I have a dimmer switch in the garage named "garage lights inside" and a 8 button keypad in the house named "Garage Lights KP C" . Both control the interior lights of the garage. Sometimes if I turn the garage lights on then off then on again with the dimmer, the lights start to flash and it gets into a never ending loop. The only way to stop it is by disabling the "garage lights inside" dimmer then re enable it. The "Garage Lights KP C" keypad and the "garage lights inside" dimmer are both a controller and responder for the "inside garage lights" scene which the "garage lights inside" dimmer is a part of. Have I messed up something here? usually it works fine but this looping has happened about a dozen times now. Any suggestions? Thanks
  3. Thanks
  4. Can I use a standard 3 way light switch in the basement and a insteon light switch upstairs to control the same lights? Or do both have to be insteon? Thanks
  5. I just installed 2 more leak detectors and neither one show anything in the current state box Just updated the isy now none of my wireless sensors show any info in the current state box
  6. Thanks for the advice
  7. Please see my other post I mistakenly created a double post. Thanks for the reply
  8. I have the switch at the door wired as n/c but the wire at the i/o link is wired the the n/o. So when door is closed the green light on the i/o link is on. Is that right?
  9. Is there a difference and if so why? A friend does have the aftermarket magnet switch and we wondered which wiring setup to the iolinc is better? Thanks

  11. Thanks
  12. I haven't used variables yet as I don't understand them. Where would I find a good source of information explaining when and how to use variables in programs? Is there a wiki about it? Thanks
  13. The water shutoff I have only has 3 wires (Red, Green and black) where as the ELK has (Green, Black, Red, White) Any idea about this? I'm guessing green on mine is white on the ELK but I'm not sure
  14. Waterflow is the reason I stay away from pex. Each fitting or elbow inserts inside the tube which is smaller in diameter then the tube which reduces Waterflow. Where as copper is consistent. In my house I have 1/2 inch copper so if I went with 3/4 pex then that would be better. Just my opinion.
  15. Does the water shutoff wire to one of the zones on the ELK?
  16. Was a good deal thanks for mentioning it
  17. how do you connect to the elk? Wire it straight to the panel and no need for the iolinc? Can the insteon water sensor trigger the elk to turn off the water?
  18. I'm curious about this comment made by one of the reviewers. "1) You need to carefully read the Note on the bottom of the Detail Page about a Dual Band device because a Range Extender #2992-222 or other RF device is needed in addition to the I/O Link and Power Supply."
  19. That's a good price. Id also like to hear from people who own this
  20. Yes but after the 2 years is it $45 every 2 years after that or $22.50 a year?
  21. So can anyone confirm this?
  22. 1.the plm is 2413s v2.0 1440 The wall outlet isRev.7.3 1616 2. The outlet is not part of the all on all off and wasn't used during the door open event 3. I don't believe the cause of the door opening by itself was an all on all off I think it was a program or scene problem. I think one of you recommended not having the door sensor and the relay in the same scene which mine was at the time. I removed it since. 4. No idea what you mean 5. not sure of this either 6. I only had this happen once and since I made these changes I am comfortable with it and didn't intend or changing the setup Thanks
  23. Cant give you the revision number (purchased about 2 months ago) as it is a pain in the *** to remove and replace the large plate but the part number is 2663-222. Nothing to validate it except common sense I guess. I do not have to worry as much about a program problem or all on event as in order to open the door it requires 2 stages 1 to power on the plug then 2 to activate the iolinc. if the isy does that by itself then there is something seriously wrong. Also if someone had my garage door opener code, it would be useless to them as the power to the opener is normally off. I'm sure some can shoot holes in this idea or find flaws but I'm more than happy with it. Just thought I would share.
