  1. I came up with a secure method of using the insteon garage door opener so I will never have to worry about this happening again. I installed a insteon wall plug and plugged the opener into that that is normally off. When I enter the garage the power to the opener turns on for 15 min then shuts off again. When I drive home and enter my geofence while connected to bluetooth, the power to the opener turns on. Been working great and very secure.
  2. Nothing planned just sounds like a cool idea
  3. That sounds awsome. Do you remember the title of your original post for instructions?
  4. Never knew you could. Do you mean using the garage door opener to activate insteon devices without open8ng the door?
  5. We're you referring to the Elk fob or the mini remote
  6. Seems like that's my only option and when I get the ELK I will get the keyfob
  7. Who carries keys anymore? Just the vast population. You may use remote locks or push start cars but most people do have keys. At any rate I, if the only man on the planet that still uses key, would like a key fob so that's why I ask. If you don't want or need one then that's OK.
  8. Yes I do not have elk. Was thinking about getting it. I was hoping for it to work without elk or a separate keyfob but at least if it works with elk then I'll be happy when I get it. Thanks for the replies
  9. I'd hate to compare kefob size but you have a big keyfob. Mine is smaller. Regardless of size it is not intended as a keyfob, not rugged or meant for outdoor. Show me a pic of how you are can attach the mini remote to your Keychain.
  10. I knew someone would say that. A keyfob is a remote that fits on your Keychain. Have you seen the size of the mini remote? It's almost twice the size of a typical keyfob, it's not intended for the outdoors, it is not rugged enough to use on a Keychain and for that matter there is no Keychain for it. That's why I believe they need to make one. At least I for one would love to have it.
  11. I understand when you buy the portal it includes a 2 year subscription for $45. What is the yearly fee after that?
  12. Why on earth is there no keyfob for insteon. I would imagine most people would buy one if available. Can the Elk kefob fork to turn lights on and off or run programs? I don't have Elk yet but I imagine it is required for the keyfob to work. Thanks
  13. I unplugged the ISY and plugged it back in and now I can access the ISY. But now I just need to figure out the hub. Says subnet doesn't match, dbcli
  14. I went from a Dlink 655 to an asus RT-AC68u, now I cant access my isy and I cant access my insteon camera on the hub. Is there a setting on the router I need to change?
  15. Seems to work good. Thanks
  16. I should also add that both failed while turning it on using mobilinc. Not sure if that matters.
  17. I have had 2 2663-2 wall outlets fail. I had my wall air conditioner plugged into it and it worked for a couple months then smelt a burning smell and it doesn't work anymore. The air conditioner is 11.5amps and the outlet says 15 amp
  18. If you say "run if" does that run the whole program or just the "if" section of the program?
  19. I think my previous thread was deleted but I have these two programs running to let me know if I left my door open and it works fine. Garage Man Door left open - [iD 0054][Parent 0050] If Status 'Garage Small Door-Opened' is On And Status 'Garage Small Door-Opened' is not Off Then Wait 2 minutes Send Notification to 'email' content 'Garage man door left open' Send Notification to 'Pushover' content 'Garage man door left open' Enable Program 'Garage Man Door repeat ' Run Program 'Garage Man Door repeat ' (Then Path) Else Disable Program 'Garage Man Door repeat ' Garage Man Door repeat - [iD 0058][Parent 0050] If - No Conditions - (To add one, press 'Schedule' or 'Condition') Then Repeat Every 30 seconds Send Notification to 'email' content 'Garage man door left open' Send Notification to 'Pushover' content 'Garage man door left open' Else - No Actions - (To add one, press 'Action') I want to use this program to disable the above programs for 20 minutes then re enable them and this does the trick. Disable Garage doors left open - [iD 005C][Parent 005B] If - No Conditions - (To add one, press 'Schedule' or 'Condition') Then Disable Program 'Garage Man Door left open ' Disable Program 'Garage Man Door repeat ' Disable Program 'Overhead Garage door left open' Disable Program 'Overhead Garage Door repeat' Wait 20 minutes Enable Program 'Overhead Garage Door repeat' Enable Program 'Overhead Garage door left open' Enable Program 'Garage Man Door repeat ' Enable Program 'Garage Man Door left open ' Else - No Actions - (To add one, press 'Action') The problem is after the 20 minutes are up, it re enables the "garage man door left open" program but if the door was still open at the time, it doesn't notify me again. How do I make it check if the door is open or not? Thanks
  20. Can you be more specific on the devices or relay required?
  21. I really want to incorporate a sensor like the driveway sensor into the ISY so I can get email alerts.
  22. The fact that I didn't understand most of what you wrote, tells me it might be beyond my skill
  23. I'm not sure of the brand, I believe it is a chamberlain. It is an extra set of photosensors I have and unrelated to my garage door. Just thought it would be a cheap idea to use it to detect people walking into my pathway.
  24. I want to use a set of electric photo sensors that come with a garage door opener and connect it to the iolinc so if anyone passes through the beam it will send an alert. Is this possible and how would I wire it? Thanks
  25. These are the instructions Kaspersky sent me on how to add your ip to the trusted sites. It now works fine. Thanks guys To add a website to the Trusted URLs list: Open Kaspersky. Click on 'Settings'. Click on 'Protection' on the left. Click on 'Web Ant-Virus' on the right. Click on 'Advanced Settings'. Click on 'Configure trusted web pages'. Click on the 'Add' button. Enter the web address in the same format as shown: http://*.example.com/* Select 'Active'. Click on the 'Add' button. If needed, repeat the process for additional sites. Close the 'Trusted web pages' window. Click the Back arrow in the upper left three times to return to the main window. Retry the web site. If it does not work, close all open web browsers and reopen the site.
