When you worked on the light. Did any of the wires come out of the wire nuts? So that maybe Line or Neutral power is not actually getting to the dead SwitchLincs? Do you have a meter and can safely use one?

LeeG, Mostly curious. The EZICOMM with the base 2413 PLM electronics. Is it like the 2413S and does not provide DC power on the RJ45 connector or like the 2412S that did?

It is a low pass filter and the specification chart says 300Hz. So it would block X10 and Insteon power line frequency noise.

So a Factory Reset. Pull out set button and wait a few seconds. Push set button all the way in and holding it until the beeping stopped. Then releasing the set button. Didn't help.

Did you do a Factory Reset and then the Restore or just a Restore? Guess here. Power failure may have scrambled the link database.

I have not looked into the latest hardware 2413S so the latest daughter card maybe different now. There was a place to solder in a lead wire mounted micro fuse to the serial daughter card. I would also say do not try it. As LeeG said it may not have enough extra power to run the ISY994i. That now comes with a 1 amp power supply. When the daughter card was in the 2412S. It had a real power transformer in it to isolate the power connections from the 120 volts AC. The external unregulated output was fused at 400 Ma. The 2413S uses a power line driven switching supply and I am not sure how well the AC line is isolated from the DC side of the supply.

Insteon seems to be suffering from a single manufacturer's whims. In late 2005 when I started with Insteon and joined the Developers Group. They gave us a big list of manufacturers looking into Insteon. Well all of them quietly disappeared. Memory here. Leviton decided to go to ZWave instead of Insteon. IMHO Smartlabs Licensing Requirements and overly tight grip on their protocol. Is limiting Insteons potential. With other manufacturers products. I don't think Insteon is going away any time soon. My old Federal Pacific Breaker box has only a few 220 volt positions. Also if 1/2 sized breakers are used. Adjacent breakers can be on the same phase.

I would also recommend doing the four tap tests. As not all breaker boxes are mapped out that way. Maybe test with the PLM as the test originator and seeing that one or more dual band devices respond. One or more receives the PLM and is on the same phase. One or more receives the PLM and is on the opposite phase. Are the Dual Band Switchlincs mounted in metal electrical boxes? That can effect their RF range. Is the PLM on the same circuit as the computing equipment? Also the PLM should not be on the output side of an UPS or a filtered surge strip.

The Scene Test actually is not testing the scene itself. It is doing a worse case communications test with all the devices in the scene. Scene_Test It is possible for a scene to run fine but due to marginal communications. Fail the Scene Test. Though a failure does indicate you have marginal communications and possible issues later. If things get worse. Do you have two verified {four tap set button communications test} Dual Band Devices on opposite phases of the home?

Manual linking had to be kept or many users with no controllers would be out of luck and Insteon would quickly fade into oblivion. I2CS messed up may hardware and software vendors. Do you have any Access Points for phase coupling or are you counting on the Dual Band modules you have? Have you used the built in communications tests in the Dual Band modules to verify phase coupling and communications range? Is the PLM on the same circuit as the computing equipment or on a surge strip? Both can cause power line signal problems if not on a filter.

I believe there was another user with a similar Keypadlinc problem with the ISY99i. They where going to try a older model from the drop down list but I don't know the results. There was a upgrade from a ISY99i to ISY994i offer awhile back but it has expired. You may want to wait and see if UDI chimes in on this subject. The main problem with the ISY99i's firmware was they ran out of space. To hold the larger firmware needed to add the new devices and features.

Support for the 2334-232 Dual Band 6 button Keypadlinc was added in firmware 4.0.1. The last released firmware for the ISY99i is 3.3.10.

One of the error messages you posted indicated an Old PLM. Did you ever have a different PLM on the ISY99i? Have you done the communications tests built into the Dual Band Devices? To verify phase coupling and RF communications? What version of ISY99i firmware are you running? 3.3.10 is the last ISY99i firmware. Are the Switchlincs Dual Band? You didn't list their model numbers and there where older power line only Switchlinc modules.

Just don't push the Air Gap Switch past its normal position when turning it back On. All the way in does a Factory Reset.

They are not the same. The 2334-222 is a Dual Band module and the 2486D is an older power line only module. They have different Sub Cat Numbers and the latest firmware for the ISY99i may not support it completely and it was added as a generic device. I just looked at the Firmware Release Notes and the 2334-222 was added in 4.0.1 and only for the ISY994i as the ISY99i firmware was frozen at 3.3.10. viewtopic.php?f=44&t=10771

I added a two second delay before sending my X10 commands. For the reasons Indy Mike pointed out.

Do you have an antivirus or firewall program running? If so what software is it?
