  1. No suggestions. Math error somewhere on Smarthome/Smartlabs specifications. My point was you frequently see a different wattage rating for pure resistive loads like hearers and incandescent type bulbs.
  2. Incandescent bulbs when first turned on produces a surge current until the filament in the bulb warms up. You frequently see a pure resistive and incandescent bulb rating a different value.
  3. This link is from the Simplehomenet forums. On adding their devices to your ISY99i http://www.simplehomenet.com/forum/view ... f=39&t=800
  4. Did you add the new switches to My Lighting and then use the replace function to remove the old switches and add the new ones? If not the old links are still in the KeypadLinc and not the replacement ones.
  5. You may want to submit a trouble ticket to UDI or call them. http://www.universal-devices.com/supp_contact.htm Any of the LEDs on the unit flashing?
  6. You may want to read this thread. Where Illusion used a xpalpower XP2000 for an extended power supply for an ISY99i. Though it may have been when the PLMs where the 2412S that supplied power to the iSY99i through the interface cable and not the external DC input used with the 2413S PLM. viewtopic.php?f=25&t=2673&hilit=XP2000
  7. I believe I read here a super cap. That holds it for around six hours. It does go on the net and reset the time. As my six day power loss with Hurricane Irene and the Halloween snow storm three day power loss. Resulted in some restarting actions and then the date and time where correct. My biggest problem was my router rebooting slower than my ISY99i. So I held the power off the ISY99i and PLM for a few seconds.
  8. Avast's update bit me also.
  9. The 2443 Access Points should be fine. One question. The 2444A3 is the single button RL2 model. Did you pick the correct model from the list. There are three. The single On Off button, the four scene and the eight scene models. http://www.smarthome.com/2444A3WH/Remot ... tch/p.aspx
  10. I have had a few hw 1.3 ApplianceLincs fail. All where double stacked and very warm to the touch.
  11. The way I have seen the numbering go. It will be a 3.1.??.
  12. In the configuration tab. See if Catchup Schedules at Restart is checked. If the last scheduled event was an off. It is possible the ISY99i ran through the schedules to catch up and turned them off. If they are recent revision ApplianceLincs or Icon O/Off adapters. That is a different story. They now default to Off upon power restoration.
  13. DST changing back to Standard Time blanked all of mine out also. Probably normal.
  14. All those nice electronic goodies you mentioned can effect power line communications and may need filters. They could be generating power line noise or absorbing signals. It could be noise is telling the Insteon modules to wait for a clear line to send a signal. The communications tests use both RF and power line signals.
  15. The motion sensors are a battery operated device as you know. To prevent short battery life. They go into a suspended operating mode. When in this mode. The electronics can not receive any communications from anything. That is why you have to push the button. If they listened all the time. You would be climbing the ladder more often to change the batteries. I believe HouseLinc use to remember pending changes and the next time the sensor woke up to send a command. It sent the pending changes to the sensor before it went back to suspended mode. I also understand it didn't work well and maybe gone in the latest revision of HouseLinc.
  16. If the PLM was the 2412S that supplied raw +12 volts to the ISY99i. Connecting it to the router may have fried one of its signal transformers. Changing ports on the router would also indicate a 2412S may have fried a signal transformer. If your is a 2413S that does not supply raw +12 volts on the interface connector. Ignore the above.
  17. There where issues with the V2 thermostat adapter with communication issues. Did Smarthome send you an email offering a swap to the latest firmware with the fix in it?
  18. It does sound like it maybe external interference as Lee pointed out. In the X10 forums. We see all kinds of things. One example is a cell phone charger that caused false x10 like messages. http://jvde.us/x10/x10_cellet_noise.htm We have also seen things deteriorating. Like a CFL getting close to end of life starting to be a problem. When it was fine originally.
  19. Are the old SwitchLincs two way or have BoosterLinc Technology features? Any active X10 coupler Repeaters in the house?
  20. Glad you found it and it is working.
  21. Link Management. Add New Insteon Device. In the Device Type they are listed there. Also remember to start the linking mode on the RemoteLinc2. By holding the set button until the Green LED flashes.
  22. 3.1.10 has the RemoteLinc2 supported. Since it is not an official release. You have to manually update to it. viewtopic.php?f=25&t=7108 viewtopic.php?f=25&t=6015 If you do use 3.1.10 to add a RL2. The reminder message to start it linking first. Is not showing and is to be corrected in the next drop. Just hold the SET button until the Green LED flashes before starting the process to add the RL2. Also there are three versions of the RL2. Verify you pick the correct one in the drop down device list.
  23. I have found a discrepancy in the pop up message for RemoteLincs and RemoteLinc2s. In the Add A New Insteon X10 Device. Picking a RemoteLinc gives you the older message about starting the linking process first. Picking a RemoteLinc2 gives you no message about starting the linking process first. Now in the Show Device Links Table of Diagnostics and picking a RemoteLinc. I get an updated start linking process first message. That includes how to do for a RemoteLinc; RemoteLinc2 or a TriggerLinc/Motion Sensor.
  24. Since they are an RF device that normally goes into a power saving mode. Did you Hold the Set Button until the LED started to flash before trying to add them? That wakes them up so the ISY99i can access them. Did you get a pop up message telling you to hold the Set Button? I thought I saw it one time but when I tried this morning. Only the original RemoteLinc gave the message and it was the older one. Not the one mentioning both original and new RL2's.
  25. Hold the Bright and Dim buttons. Until the LED starts flashing. You then have about four minutes to write to the RemoteLinc. If you have the Pro version. You can also set it to not automatically update battery powered devices. Then individually put the RF device in the linking mode and then write to it.
