The JV Engineering XTBM X10 signal meter is also a good one. I have one myself. It does sound like you have an X10 signal problem. Could be noise or a few signal absorbing devices.

You should use the Link a ControLinc choice in the Link Management Tab. The six digit Insteon ID is also needed as you have indicated.
-
Did you replace the PLM? If the PLM was replaced. Did you use the Restore Modem PLM choice in File Menu to get the replacement installed correctly?
-
Installed OK for me.

The OR 992i and OR 994i are explained in this thread. http://forum.universal-devices.com/viewtopic.php?t=5581 Basically units to support utility companies trials and not publicly sold yet.

ISY99i version. I didn't see anything not working with my Pro and older revisions.
-
Installed fine. Will keep an eye out for any strangeness.

Rand; Thanks for the quick response. I maybe doing this shortly myself.

If they have an electronic ballast. It could be a possibility. Try communicating with them Off as oberkc suggested.
-
Didn't you replace an Icon with a Switchlinc that has more features? I thought the interface would only replace a device with a same type device. Rand will know better but normally would an Icon be replaced by a Switchlinc through the ISY screen?

Installed fine for me. Will keep an eye out for quirks.

Normal. Mine is the same way. Last command from the button. Is what shows.

Release 2.8.10 (RC6) Is Now Available

Do you have the Pro Version? You can delay automatic writes and automatic battery device writes with the Pro version. -

A scene test is the worst case test. It sets the hop count to one. I believe three hops is normal. So a scene test can fail and the scene may still work with normal commands. The test shows marginal communications that can slow things down or why a module may sometimes miss a command. -
Look in My Lighting. On the Type Column. The device part number description and the v.?? at the end is the firmware version number.

On my 2413S PLM the LED is a dim Green when nothing is being processed. When the ISY99i is sending commands it flashes a brighter Green and when there is Insteon traffic. It briefly goes out. I believe the Red Green sequence is when you are doing the communications test between Dual Band Units. To verify proper communications on both phases of the homes wiring. Yes nothing much happens if there is no communications between the PLM and the ISY99i. I would suspect a bad PLM myself.

I never got anything on a swap either.
-
I use the Address and Description lines. Then Auto Detect. Seems to work fine that way.

I wounder if part of the problem is the other V.35 SwitchLincs still in the system. Slowing thing down. I thought when I did a replacement. After the replacement was done. It rebooted all by itself.

ISY could not synchronize the clock with the time server. I get that every once and a while myself. Have you tried to manually update the clock? In the configuration tab System section Try the Synchronize Now Button and see if the red! goes away.

Wireless Relay? You want RF or over power lines by Insteon signals? I have not seen any RF types relays but there are a few Insteon power line ones. The Insteon I/OLinc has a form C {NC and NO} dry contact relay in it and a closer to digital input than analog input. Simplehomenet makes a few Insteon modules that are different combinations of I/O. Some have all inputs some all outputs and some a mixture. Theirs have a few of the inputs configurable to analog or digital inputs. Zero to five volts sound like it. http://www.smarthome.com/2450/IOLinc-IN ... ut-/p.aspx http://www.smarthome.com/_/Automatic_Sp ... r/nav.aspx http://www.simplehomenet.com/cats.asp?id=12 There are links on all the above sites to find users manuals for the modules. If you care to read about them. If you need an RF device that sends an On or Off when a magnet or dry contact is moved. There is a TriggerLinc. http://www.smarthome.com/2421/TriggerLi ... sor/p.aspx

You set it to eight button but are still using the six button keypad?

Good detective work. It sounds like it was the EZIO6 was starting to fail.

I reread your previous post and that is why I removed my response. I did read that you had the icon in the Grey state. You must have found the reply before I removed it. That is the way I understand it. Gery is batch mode and green is immediate. I am sure the folks at UDI will clarify this for both of us. All I can find in the wiki. http://www.universal-devices.com/mwiki/ ... 99i_Pro.29

Could also damage the Insteon switch's. If the transformers are not rated to be dimmed. The dimmer switch manuals all caution on using them with inductive loads like transformers. The clue maybe when dimmed the communications to the switches suffers.
