Mine went fine with no problems. I also saw the 2.8.8 in the About Tab and backup I made after the update.

The 2414U 2414S and 2814U PLCs. Do not do Insteon Extended Messages. Could be one reason Smartlabs feels they are not as reliable.

Release 2.8.8 (RC4 - Code Freeze) Is Now Available
Brian H replied to Michel Kohanim's topic in Previous Releases
No problems installing it when I did it. I see in the release notes. A fix was done for the SynchroLinc. When mine gets here I will have a new toy to try out. -
Yes they have a 2 year warranty. Actually if you had called technical services. They may have done a cross ship of the replacement. They would take your credit card number and charge the new one if you didn't return the dud. Well you will not have to do many tests for them. You can just tell them you did a power cycle and factory reset and it still did not go off even though the LED did. Zero Ohms. Sounds like a shorted triac to me.

If you want to purchase the Pro add on. Use the purchase modules choice in the help tab. After the purchase it will install by itself or at least mine did. I don't remember if you needed a certain firmware revision or higher for it to be avilable. This is fuzzy memory here, but I believe at one time Smarthome did sell the ISY99i alone.
-
You are welcome. I remember you have the Pro version so the choices should be avilable.
-
In the Help Tab. About choice. It will tell you if you have the Pro version. Also in the tool bar would be two green icons. One is a 11010 and the other looks like a small green battery. They allow you to delay automatic writes to devices and battery devices.
-
The replace function will rename the new replacement and change the needed link databases in every place the original one was. So you will not have to rename the replacement switches. You don't have the Pro version do you? Pro Version allows you to hold all writes until all devices are swapped the then do them all at the sametime. You can also delay RF devices being written to.

No I don't know if the ToggeLinc Dimmers had a common problem like that. It does sound like the electronics in it are still functioning for programming and answering back when commands are sent to it. After you replace it. If you have a multimeter. It would be interesting to see what the resistance between the Black Line wire and the Red Load wire is.
-
I wounder why I could even add it?
-
Though in the drop down list in the add a device tab. There are a few entries for PLCs and PLMs. I just added a 2412S PLM to My Lighting and could read its link database. It was not the one connected to the ISY99i and I have no idea why someone would add a PLM or older PLC to My Lighting.
-
My guess is the triac that is the component that dims the device is shorted and is acting like a piece of wire. You could try the Factory Reset on the chance the memory has garbage in it. If you do a factory reset and then restore it from the ISY. I don't believe you have to remove it from scenes as you will just be writing all the links back when you do the restore.
-
They all work just reporting different levels of data. Device Communications Events is the Scene test event choice. You can invoke the event viewer from the Diagnostics tab and it normally defaults to Status Operation Events but you can pick others.
-
Yes the 2413S does not have the unregulated +12 volts on the interface connector. The 2412S did. Best to verify as you did.
-
The serial cable in the PLMs box is for users that are connecting to other devices and is part of the PLMs package. As you know not needed or used with an ISY99i.
-
Did you set the Event Viewer to Device Communications Events or Level 3 if you have an older version?
-
Installed fine for me.
-
Do you have any firewalls and what is it? I had all kinds of problems with ZoneAlarm until the iSY99is IP address was added to the trusted zone.
-
If the PLM Info/Status is not showing anything. That is the problem. You may want to give the RJ45 connectors a good looking at. Some have reported one or more of the pins in the jack was bent up and not connecting to the cable. Start Linking should start the PLM LED flashing. Another indication the PLM and ISY99i are not communicating.
-
Well it depends on the hardware revision of the 2476S SwitchLinc Relay. Versions between 5.0 to 5.3 had a sense input. Lower and higher revisions do not have sense inputs. A separate model 2476SS now has the sense input Yes confusing.

You are welcome. As questions arise. There are many users here that will gladly assist you. Also UDI Support should be en example for all companies to follow. It is exceptional.

The Dual band devices do not link to each other in the tests for proper communications. The Dual Band tests are used to verify you have at least one device on each phase and that they are communicating with each other. You may want to try the connections tests after a few devices are installed. The tests should be done with the instruction in the users sheets. The ISY99i will do any of the linking you will need to get the system up and running. If you have not found the online Full Users Manuals for the modules they are here: http://wiki.smarthome.com/index.php?tit ... 7s_Manuals The full users manual for the ISY99i is here: http://www.universal-devices.com/docs/i ... rguide.pdf Wiki here. http://www.universal-devices.com/mwiki/ ... =Main_Page

You are welcome. Glad it helped.

Does the samething happen if you use the synchronize to computer time?

The 2413S has a 1023 link database. Looks like that would not be a problem with yours.
