  1. Do you have any X10 Repeaters or older Smarthome BoosterLincs or X10 SwitchLincs with BoosterLinc features? Older BoosterLincs and SwitchLincs with BoosterLinc technology are know problems. Including communications interference.
  2. Brian H

    No log.

Yes the Log and Error Log are both stored in the ISY99i and continue to be updated even if the computer is off. I usually take both of them and store them as a file. Then periodically use the clear logs choices to start back fresh.
  3. I have a under counter fluorescent light with old type inductive ballast. It will drive an Appliancelinc or Icon On Off adapter nuts. It does sound like noise or spikes. Confusing or actually locking up the microcontroller in the module. So it is totally unresponsive to any Insteon commands. I would second TJF1960's suggestion of trying a filter.
  4. Same thing for security systems. In my electronic training a magnetic switch that is NO means it is open when no magnet is next to it. In a security system it is for a NC type system where the switch is closed for normal operation.
  5. Actually we should thank LeeG. He pointed me in the right direction.
  6. A contactor and an ApplianceLinc turning it on and off sounds good. Just one thing to remember is the new HW 4.15 and 4.2 ApplianceLincs default to off after a power failure and not the state they where in at power loss time. Maybe a safer thing to happen. Just you have to make sure default off didn't leave your dishes half washed.
  7. The DB LECTRO NT90RNCS110CB Relays in the EZSwitch30. Have some fairly high ratings. 1 and 1/2 HP for a 250 Volt AC. I would imagine at 120 volts AC the ratings would be different.
  8. You would have to ask Simplehomenet if they ship to Canada. http://www.simplehomenet.com/ I know they list a Canadian Automation dealer on their web site.
  9. In the downloads tab of the page. http://www.simplehomenet.com/Downloads/ ... -start.pdf It is also much less in price for the Refurbished ones over the new ones original cost.
  10. Although this module is listed as a 220 volt unit. It uses 120 volts for power and is a 30 amp unit. Has both lines and neutral inputs. You can use the Line that powers it and has a switched output for switching your dishwasher. Ignoring the Isolated Line two input and output if you care to. It can be used on 120 volts by not using the second line input and outputs that are on a separate relay. It is also discontinued and the ones still being sold are reconditioned. I have an early production one and it works fine on 120 volts. The users manual is avilable if you care to see if maybe something you could use. http://www.simplehomenet.com/proddetail ... 9357345387 Another way would be an ApplianceLinc switching a heavy duty contactor with a 120 volt AC coil.
  11. To second Lee's information. I have replaced old Hardware V1.3 ApplianceLincs firmware v.28. With V4.1 firmware v.32 and V4.2 firmware v.38 with no problems. The replace module function did it all.
  12. ISY reports my new SynchroLinc as a v.30? My new iMeterSolo reports as a v.87? Didn't do lots of testing with the iMeterSolo but it did add with no hitches. Unlike the Synchrolinc that totally bombed out.
  13. I tried forced i1 and it was added but the Set Options tab blew away on an error. Set back to Automatic and it did show what it was set to but writing changes failed.
  14. Thanks for the fast analysis of the problem. At least we know why it is not 100% functional. Another i2 Quirk. You didn't write the i2 protocol Smartlabs did and you would think they could get it correct. Side note. I am not sure if the SynchroLinc can be both a responder and controller, but when I added it. The side tree for it showed both Is a Controller of and Is a Responder to.
  15. I go the same message when picking it from the drop down list. Auto Discover added it but I got a red! 16. Yes I am ruining 3.1.2. I tried both auto discover and picking it from the drop down list, but I was not aware of the four minute power up self calibration thing. I may have tried one of the choices after the four minute thing or started before the thirty second pause before going into the self calibration thing. Supposed to double beep when self calibration starts. I can't remember if you are a member of the Developers Group. If you are there is a SynchroLinc Developers Notes pdf file avilable for download.
  17. I just got a SynchroLinc today. The full users manual indicates it automatically goes into a self calibration mode after power on. That times out after four minutes. It also seem to indicate that adding it to things like HL2 should not be started until it was in the calibration mode? I also got some errors when trying to add it to my ISY setup. Maybe UDI has some tips for us as I don't know if we should try it while it is in power up self calibrate mode or wait until it times out. http://www.smarthome.com/manuals/2423A5.pdf
  18. Unfortunately. Each fan manufacturer seems to control speed differently. Making a Insteon fan controller that can do all fans would be a challenge. Yours look like Fantech varies the voltage to it with a control that can take the fans load. Other manufacturers may switch capacitors or motor leads to vary the speed.
  19. There are no Insteon devices that can control a fans speed. There is a whole thread on this subject in the Smarthome forums. http://www.smarthome.com/forum/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=7992
  20. Installed fine this morning.
  21. It is also against code to use a dimmer switch in a J-box to control an outlet. Same reason. Too easy to blow something up. Dimmer switch in a J-box controlling hard wired fixtures. OK.
  22. 2412S has been discontinued for a fairly long time now. I believe Simplehomenet makes an equivalent to the 2412S. I have seen no feedback on how it works with an ISY99i.
  23. Installed fine for me. Only thing I noticed was the module status was blank until I closed the program and restarted it.
  24. Are the CFLs dimmable? If not; they should not be used with a dimmer type switch. Many times even if they are dimmable. They can make power line interference that can effect things. The best thing is relay type modules and switches for CFLs.
  25. Michel; Did the 2477D dual band Switchlinc ever have v.35 firmware in it?
