Think and rethink/Kudos to this community.
Many of the Smartenit Insteon/X10 modules. Where built on a base 2412 PLM or 2413 PLM. Including their own PLM offering. Using their own designed daughter board attached. So no new ones maybe made available to the end users. If the source of base PLM modules is gone. The chip shortage is a real problem. One of the last third party X10 enhancement modules makers. Said their next chip order was scheduled for May 2023.

Will there be a replacement for the Insteon PLM?
The UDI PLM all depends on getting the needed programmed chips to run it. It had been developed but Smartlabs pulled the rug out from under them. Years ago when it was developed and the promised chips disappeared. No indication on what may happen in the future.

Insteon Hubs Bricked? Insteon going out of business? What about switch purchase, what now?
Some of the manuals show part numbers for different areas of the world. The main part number was the same but the suffix was changed. For the necessary local AC plug on it if it was a plug in along with the correct RF frequency. Along with the more universal power supply voltages and 60Hz or 50Hz. Some of the wired in switches were 100VAC to 277VAC 60 or 50 cycles. With the US RF frequencies in them. The older 2242 HUB was sold in Europe with the correct AC cord and RF frequency. I believe the European modules where scarce even before the present situation.

ISY is going crazy
Since it also has a small switching supply chip and probably a cap with out good ERS properties. It may have had a failing power supply? I have 6 on off modules and one still in the box. Where from the plastic case cracking time and are all in the to be recycled bin. As they where not safe when you unplugged them and the whole case came off and the powered up guts where all there to be touched.

ISY is going crazy
We have seen new from the factory having test stuff in them including some with X10. Most do a factory reset as you mentioned to start with a clean state.

ISY is going crazy
The modules do have memory in them. Links and other things. That can sometimes get corrupted, The ISY994i has a feature that can read the modules link database and then a compare feature to see if they natch what should be in it.

I have see one here. On a serial board in the 2242 HUB and a serial converter patched into the 2245 HUB. That would be for a ISY994i most likely.

Insteon HUB (2245) cloud servers shut down
My searches also found what MrBill and dbuss found. It does sound a little strange.

Insteon Hubs Bricked? Insteon going out of business? What about switch purchase, what now?
Thanks for the date correction. The old management also hosed me over on the Developers Group going away and us paying for the access just dropped. Then papers just available to all. My hostility against them does show its ugly head occasionally.

Insteon Hubs Bricked? Insteon going out of business? What about switch purchase, what now?
Did you know that Richardson Capital Partners where the present owners of the Smarthome, Smartlabs and Insteon brand for many years ago? The moves where part of their ownership.

Insteon HUB (2245) cloud servers shut down
The HUB did have a similar problem as the 2413 and some other newer designed modules. Using a switching type power supply chip and capacitors not made for a high frequency DC waveform. So I have also seen HUB capacitor replacement information fixing them. I agree about the totally terrible handling of the loyal customers that helped them during their early days with our purchasing and using Insteon products. No NOKIA product will ever be in my future automation plans.

Here is the ZBPLM manual with all its specifications. Looks like their PLM made on a base 2412 PLM Main Board with added features. Like ZigBee. On their custom daughter board. The manual shows it has a serial port connector. The same as PLM with a RJ45 network style connection but used serial port signals. Since it has added things like RTC and ZigBee. MrBill's thought are it not working make sense. https://docs.smartenit.com/zbplm/zbplm_product-brief.pdf The Smartenit EZIComm 5010K was their equivalent of the PLM. Had a $10 extra USB option. Was depending on the age. Built on a 2412 or 2413 base PLM board with their custom daughter board. I have seen a few posts on using the 2442 HUB by adding a serial board to it in place of the original network board and one post on the 2445 HUB and using a serial port interface board

There is also a section in gethub. With users manuals and developers manuals. Some are repeats or different revisions. https://github.com/pyinsteon/pyinsteon/commit/2533494a8b13b30b2d0938c9a18afe782b740410

I also remember it was the older 2242-222 HUB with a separate network board. From the photos. It looked like a serial board form a PLM was used to replace the normally used network board. The 2245-222 HUB everything is on one board. I found a photo maybe from here. Looks like a 2245-222 with a external board then connected to an ISY994i.

The Access Points where built on the 2412 base board with a separate RF daughter board for any V1 versions. The V2 where on a 2413 main board and used the built in power line and RF feature built in to it. You most likely would have to change the firmware for PLM use and add a serial port daughter board.

The HUB has a power line and RF transmitter and receiver in it. Uses the AC cord to connect to the 120V power source. Along with a Network Interface. Not a serial or USB port. As for the 2413UH. As far as I can see it is a standard USB PLM. With a different subcategory number. So the paid version of Houselinc. Knew you bought it for the program and did not use a standardized one and not paid the price for it. It also worked with the free version of Houselinc and is in the configuration file. Listed as a Powerlinc USB Modem.

Insteon dimmer mysteriously remembers last brightness level?!
I have also seen features mentioned in the Developers Group before it was suddenly removed. That didn't work correctly or implemented not to what was published. Siren and Alert modules where two of them, UDI had to do its best to implement as Smartlabs was totally silent on them.

If the Nokia products have not ended up as also scrapped. They seem to have used the Insteon protocol. At least having the same six digit ID number. Maybe they have licensed or want to purchase the Insteon Protocol

Thank you for the information. This doesn't look good for things like replacement PLM modules or the future of my continued Insteon use.

Smarthome forum appears to be offline
As of this morning. Both the Smarthome and Insteon forums are still off line. Years ago under the old management. One day with out notice the Insteon Developers Group just vanished. With no advanced warnings. For the present. The main Insteon web site can still be accessed.

Repair of 2413S PLM When the Power Supply Fails
I remember Radio Shack modules. I still have earlier Insteon modules that could have an X10 address added to them and I still use an X10 16 address palm pad to control them. Though the ISY994i does not follow the changes. It does sound like the controller has issues.

2477SA1 Compatibility?
No click most likely is the internal relay not going on and off. If the one clicking does not control the purple output wires. It may have failed. If you are real careful you could measure each purple to a safety ground. Should be roughly 120VAC from each purple wire to ground an 220 VAC purple to purple.

Need to replace a RemoteLinc......
You maybe able to use the Link a RemoteLinc 2. Choice in the Link Menu. With a new name. Then click on the old module listed in the Administrative Console and pick replace with choice. Using the now remotes name you gave it. It should change the links in the modules it controls and any of them in the Administrative Console. If it is in a folder it may have to be moved first. It also has to be awake for changes to be made. I did see a repair post on the Smarthome site I believe. The remote was popped open and a replacement battery was soldered in to the battery connection pads.

Does anybody know what circuitry is in this thing?
The folks on the X10 Forums. Also have had good results with the Dimming Stabilizer. With their two wire dimmers.

Took Over Device from Prior Homeowner
The UDI WKI has all kinds of videos and documentation you will find interesting and helpful. Along with all the very knowledgeable members here. https://wiki.universal-devices.com/index.php?title=Main_Page After a factory reset of the modules and then add them into the Administrative Console. As you write programs. The controller will do all the linking between the modules and the controller. Along with any links between module if they can control each other. After you get it running. You can get the controllers info and see if it has the PRO or other optional module in it.
