  1. I found my rough sketch of a 2430 supply area. The C2 470uF/35V is the 30 volt main supply and the 30V Zener diode is across the cap. The black mark on the bottom is probably that diode getting warm. I have seen this before. It is used for the power line transmitters power. The C4 100uF/16V is in the +5 volt logic supply used by the electronics.
  2. I don't know how well its features are supported but this is what I have found. In the device choice tab in 5.0.16A. There is a module they called a Smoke Sensor. Category 10, Subcategory 0A. In the 2982.222 manual it shows a Category of 0X10, Subcategory 0X0A. Good chance they are both the same module.
  3. My bad. I would suspect the larger one as it is in the main supply. Though would not hurt do do both as a safe thing to do.
  4. I remember your post and fix. For the 2430 ControLinc Maxi. I would at least look at the board and see if it has a similar problem. Maybe try a new capacitor. My thoughts where with the cap not working correctly. There was too much ripple current in the diodes. The black rectangular diode next to the large capacitor is a zener diode seen in many of the older Insteon devices.
  5. On mine I had to get far enough away from the Dual Band PLM to do anything with it. Like put it into the linking mode near a Dual Band device on the other end of the house away from the PLM. So all the signaling had to go through that device and the PLM did not receive it by RF and used the power lines.
  6. Not sure if things have changed now. When it happened to me years ago. Federal, State and Local owed taxes and fee where top of the list. Then secured loans. End users where at the bottom of the list.
  7. I don't use any that dim. I use all relay type Insteon modules as I am from a past where LED bulbs did not dim. Though the old one I still use have local control sensing and some pulse at a few second rate.
  8. I have seen bulb manufacturers change a hardware design and not change the description. That can effect how a dimming style LED bulb works.
  9. The 2450 is power line only. So it has to be with in RF communications range of USB Dongle. To a dual band module that can communicate on the power line to the 2450. The 2450 also had a switching power supply chip in it and depending on its age. May have a failing supply or is the original I1 signaling standard. That used a large amount of peeks and pokes to do one link. If you have an extra dual band plug in module. You can try and plug it into the outlet on the front of the 2450 and see if anything changes to link it.

Yes the site is up The Fanlink along with everything I looked at is marked "Sold Out". Though you has the access the modules sale pages before you got the "Sold Out" message
  11. The UDI Wiki has lots of tips, videos and how to pages. The ISY Cookbook available there is also a great help. Along with the users here. https://wiki.universal-devices.com/index.php?title=Main_Page
  12. I have not seen a post officially killing the 2413S PLM has been out of stock for at least 6 to 9 months. I suspect it is gone unless there is an event in the future.
  13. You may want to look at their web page drivers tab. I don't have a Polisy so I can't say if any of them are compatible. https://www.aten.com/us/en/products/usb-peripherals/usb-converters/uc232a/?source=google
  14. Even at fast On and Off with a full On setting, on a dimmer is not a god way to go. There is still a possibility it may not play well with an inductive load. Unless it has an OK for a dimmer ratting. There is also a short time at Zero Crossing where the output is distorted. When turning on between the cycles. Switching from positive and negative.
  15. If you don't have a PLM. You can still do z-wave with added card. There are ISY994i models that are z-wave only and could use the software that didn't flag a no PLM found.

The 2242-222 HUB has a universal power input. It was sold in other parts of the world with just a different suffix on the main part number. So you got the proper power connection and local Insteon RF frequency. Though mine is not labeled with universal power input. My 2245-222 HUB. Is 125VAC 50/60 Cycles. I have seen reports it does have a universal power supply but can't confirm it. Using a USA HUB may have have the wrong Insteon RF frequency programmed into it. Depending on the used frequency in Israel. I don't believe there was a newer HUB for other parts of the world.
  17. Like not supplying the needed information on such things as the Alert and Siren modules. Forcing them to try and do their own tests?
  18. The 2412S in the documentation and the 2413S have a 5 pin programming connector. Two on the 2413S as it also has a RF controller chip. It does not cover things like the I2CS protocol where a check sum was part of the messages. I don't think anything was done in the PLM as it is just a change in the contents of the messages. Mine have a sticker on them and they where a standard Micro Chip PIC controller. I suspect but have no data that the chips protection fuse was opened to stop reading it back. I have seen reports Smarthome could reprogram units though in later years they may have started using programmed controllers.
  19. The schematic in the Insteon_Modem_Developers_ Guide. Is the old 2412S PLM with a transformer run power supply. Not the recently sold 2413S. With the switching power supply. I have not seen a complete schematic of the 2413S. There is a power supply section of it on this site. The basic commands are the same for both just a completely different hardware wise. I have opened some 2412S and 2413S PLM modules but never tried a complete schematic for the 2413S the 2412S is in the mentioned guide.
  20. I had found a few different Richmond Capital Partners with a web search. All in different parts of the country.
  21. Many of the Smartenit Insteon/X10 modules. Where built on a base 2412 PLM or 2413 PLM. Including their own PLM offering. Using their own designed daughter board attached. So no new ones maybe made available to the end users. If the source of base PLM modules is gone. The chip shortage is a real problem. One of the last third party X10 enhancement modules makers. Said their next chip order was scheduled for May 2023.
  22. The UDI PLM all depends on getting the needed programmed chips to run it. It had been developed but Smartlabs pulled the rug out from under them. Years ago when it was developed and the promised chips disappeared. No indication on what may happen in the future.
  23. Some of the manuals show part numbers for different areas of the world. The main part number was the same but the suffix was changed. For the necessary local AC plug on it if it was a plug in along with the correct RF frequency. Along with the more universal power supply voltages and 60Hz or 50Hz. Some of the wired in switches were 100VAC to 277VAC 60 or 50 cycles. With the US RF frequencies in them. The older 2242 HUB was sold in Europe with the correct AC cord and RF frequency. I believe the European modules where scarce even before the present situation.
  24. Since it also has a small switching supply chip and probably a cap with out good ERS properties. It may have had a failing power supply? I have 6 on off modules and one still in the box. Where from the plastic case cracking time and are all in the to be recycled bin. As they where not safe when you unplugged them and the whole case came off and the powered up guts where all there to be touched.
  25. We have seen new from the factory having test stuff in them including some with X10. Most do a factory reset as you mentioned to start with a clean state.
