  1. One thought would be an antivirus or firewall was involved. Or maybe one is using Windows 10 and the other one an older version.
  2. Did you follow the part 3 step 2? Where you have to go online and use the link to start the Administrative Console for an SD card with no firmware. To then add the firmware. I don't think trying to write it locally is going to work.
  3. Thank you for the link to the not yet released 2234-223 RS232 module. I have seen no information on when it will be released. Maybe that is why the 2413S PLM has been in sales like the $29 and Black Friday deals. Clear out the stock so the new ones will be released and have older models gathering dust. Can the ISY994i setup go out to ~4000 Links?
  4. Where did you see 4000 Links? I know for a time the sales page did say a larger number but it quietly disappeared. The latest V2.5 being sold now is 1000+. Note the Black Friday sale price of $43.99 ends tonight. Looks like they extended it to 12/03/2019 as Cyber Monday Sale.
  5. Look at step 3 and 4 on the page you linked to. Firmware and an install of a backup is needed.
  6. Glad you got it added. Firmware 4.0 in the Sirens? Maybe you are seeing the hardware revision 4.0 and date code on the back label. That is what is on mine also. The firmware is listed in the modules list. Mine from the early days of them being sold. Is v45 and slightly newer v46.
  7. I have added both a 2867-222 Alert Module Cat.07, Sub Cat.1A and a 2868-222 Cat.07, Sub Cat 1E. To my 5.0.16. I looked a few times {maybe too early in the morning} and both are not in the drop down list but both added fine. I used the Auto Discover choice with the six digit Insteon ID. Just tried the Start Linking choice for the Siren Module. It also worked. Only thing was the link progress screen was in the way for hitting the Finish Button. Had to drag the link progress screen down to get to the Finished Button. Are you sure your Firmware and UI are both listed as 5.0.16 in the Help, About Menu? Did you clear your Java Cache after the update? Are you using the ISY Launcher to access your ISY994i? Double check the 6 digit ID on the module. Sometimes some characters are misread. Try the module in a different location on the off chance there is a communications issue with its present location.
  8. The latest 2413S PLM is a hardware revision 2.5. It has some improvements in the power supply area. An updated serial port daughter board. With a new serial interface chip with a better ESD specification and a protective network on the serial I/O pins to the outside world. Time will tell if the improvements will make the 2413S more reliable.
  9. Have you checked the Link Database in the PLM? To see how many links are in it and if they compare to what the system knows what it should have in it? Some indications are low or no Links in the PLM, Works for a short time after a power cycle, LED on the side is dim or out.
  10. Try the Start Linking choice in Link Management. Then follow the screen instructions. Basically Start Linking in the Administrative Console. Then you hold the devices Set Button until it is found. Then you indicate there are no more modules you want to add. The module should then be processed and added. I am also using v5.0.16. I found the Link Progress bar in Start Linking was blocking the Finish Button to end the finding new modules display. I had to drag the Link Progress bar down the screen so the Finish Button could be clicked. If that does not work. You could manually link it to another module and then look at the modules link database and see what was added. I have to do that with a ControlLinc once and for a few Insteon modules. They sold as X10 replacements and took off the original label with the six digit ID on it.

    Query All

It does a query of all the modules in My Lighting at 3:00AM. To determine the power line powered modules status and also determines if any are not responding. Battery modules are in a power saving mode and would not respond to a query.
  12. If you have not used the UDI Wiki yet. It is a wealth of good information. Tutorials and things like the ISY Cookbook. https://wiki.universal-devices.com/index.php?title=Main_Page
  13. C2 on the serial daughter board. Is the DC filter capacitor for the 5V DC logic supply for its electronics. Probably OK as it is only the ripple of the supply. Could not hurt to change it if you want to. As an extra measure. Note as mentioned. V2.4 and above have a new serial daughter board. Its markings for that capacitor may not still be C2. Starting with V2.3 the two main power supply capacitors C7&C13 where changed to a different series capacitor. Made for switching power supplies. Starting with V2.4 the serial daughter card was updated. With a serial interface chip with better ESD ratings and the serial I/O lines to the outside world have protective components on them.
  14. 4.7.3 is not going to be updated further. 5.x was to be the next revision. 5.0.16 (RC1) is the one now being used and will have the updates as needed. Their RC releases are what will be official unless a very hidden problematic thing is found. I held off on a 5.x from 4.7.3 . I now have 5.0.16 and have had no issues and can now use the later Insteon modules 4.7.3 did not support. Like the Siren and short lived Alert Modules.
  15. If the module in question has a internal Beeper. Many want you to hold the Set Button and plug it in. When the beeper starts sounding. Keep holding the Set Button until the beeper stops before releasing the Set Button. The module may then beep twice. I have seen a few modules that use a sequence of Set Button pushes and LED flashing patterns to do things. That information would be in the full users manual as a flow chart of actions. Though the hold set button while powering up seems to work with them also.
  16. I personally would get it from UDI directly. Some of my Amazon purchases have been an older version. Especially from an Amazon Merchant. If Amazon gets them sent to you directly from Smarthome. They don't have any version ISY994i models in stock. That model number is a ZWave and IR PRO ISY994i https://www.universal-devices.com/product/isy994i-zw-ir-pro/
  17. If you had to move the PLM a few times. That can be an indication you have power line issues. You don't have the PLM normally on the same circuit as the computing equipment or an UPS? Have you tested some of the communications with the built in communications tests {some manuals say Beacon Test others a 4 Tap Test} in most Dual Band Modules? 4 Tap is what I have seen. Where you tap the Set Button 4 times and it starts beeping or the modules LED flashes. Then you look at other Dual Band modules LED. Looking for a flash and color sequence. Some have to go through a Flow Cart of of Set Button pushes and LED flash patterns.
  18. Before the new system was implemented. UDI use to manually transfer the module if you contacted them. . With the original units UUID and the replacement units UUID. Can't say about the old model ISY99i. As it has been gone since, I believe sometime in 2013.
  19. Thank you for the very helpful information.
  20. Not sure if this can apply to the older ISY99i or if the present method. Lets you transfer the purchased modules to another ISY controller with a different UUID as that is what the purchased module uses to see if it is on the correct controller. The registered owner can purchase modules, activate and deactivate registered ISY products they own. https://wiki.universal-devices.com/index.php?title=Main_Page#Instructions_for_Purchase.2FActivation.2FDeactivation As for the ISY99i being discontinued years ago. One of the reasons was. To support the latest Insteon Modules and their new features. The firmware to add them got too large for the ISY99i to hold and process correctly. That is why 3.3.10 was the last update for an ISY99i and eventually you will have a new module and no firmware support for it. UDI bent over backwards to help the ISY99i users for a long time and maybe it was time to let it go. https://forum.universal-devices.com/topic/10001-isy99i-series-3310-is-last-firmware-version/
  21. PoliSY now has a section in the main forum section.
  22. Thanks for the information. My Insteon use started well before the ISY line of products where designed. So I got use to my old fashioned notebook. I also don't use more than maybe 20% of the features, I could get use in my ISSY994i. I never even have used Topology. Basically I have been doing on added automation in many years.
  23. I have bought some items from Supplyhouse. They are very reasonable prices and fast shipping if item is in stock. Just looked they have the T7900 in stock.
  24. Unfortunately it is true. Along with many other items. If you search for the 2401L Kit. One of the hits is for the Smarthome page. It says Discontinued by manufacturer and no longer available. Same thing for the 2400L Kit for the Switchlinc Switches.
  25. I put each of my Insteon Modules six digit ID numbers. In a notebook along with its location in the home.
