  1. The Red Labels on modules indicate it is a Controller and Responder. A Blue Label on a module is a Responder only. If you click on the module in question. On the right side of the display. It will show what it is controlling and what it responds to. On responders only. It will only show the devices it responds to.
  2. Looking at the wiring instructions. One thing you may have missed. The supplied transformer is made to be mounted in a knockout hole. On an electrical box . So you would have to splice a power cord onto the wire pigtails. If you want to plug it into an outlet.
  3. The output of the transformer could be higher than 24 volts. If it is lightly loaded.
  4. If you had problem with formatting the SD card. You may have an SD card that is marginal.
  5. If you did not do anything to scenes or modules. After changing the PLM. Use the PLM replacement instructions in the links provided. If you made some changes. Some links you added with the new PLM not detected may have improper links in them. Though most should still be OK.
  6. Open the Event Viewer and use level 3. Try and add the problem 2475DA1. Save the Event Viewer information and post it here for examination. The latest firmware lets you save to the Clipboard or you can save it as a .txt file. You are using the latest released firmware 4.2.18?
  7. I got an early Icon On/Off module. The label on the micro said Beta. I was told that the firmware in it was a released version and the labels had not been reprinted removing the Beta designation.
  8. The Icon product line was a less feature and cost. One year warranty modules. No pass through AC outlet on the front cover of plug in modules. Made by the same factory who also make the full featured Insteon line. When the seven year extended warranty could be added to the Insteon line {now no longer an option}. The Icon was not sold with an optional seven year warranty.
  9. I did basically the something with a ControLinc that Smarthome took off all the Insteon labels and sold them for a short time as an X10 Controller. The ControLinc is an odd ball. It can't be linked with the Start Linking Command and holding one of its buttons. They didn't reflash the firmware. So it and a few other disguised Insteon modules with exchanged labels where a bargain for me. The big clue was they didn't remove the six digit ID tag from one of them.
  10. Almost all electronic devices. Have internal power line filters on their AC input to prevent its electronic from putting electronic noise back on the power lines. That filter can absorb Insteon and X10 power line messages. Some with marginal filters may also allow noise back on the power lines. Power bars with a noise filter can also cause absorption of power line messages. Not all power bars have filters. Many of us use a Filterlinc for our electronics. I have mine on a APC UPS and my PLM on the unfiltered AC outlet on the front of the Filterlinc. Not every electronic device needs filters. Sometimes a test with the questionable device plugged in compared to unplugged. Can show some problem devices.
  11. You may want to look at this thread. As others have had similar events happening. http://forum.universal-devices.com/topic/13815-another-all-on-event/ I would also be interested in what hardware version and firmware version your 2413S PLM is.
  12. I would suspect the fan motor has multiple taps or different sized caps switched into the motor circuit. As the OP indicated a manual three speed setting.
  13. I believe that ZWave uses a very low RF level when pairing devices. For security concerns and a higher RF level in normal everyday use. When I was trying out some surplus Intermatic Homesettings modules. The manuals said you had to have the device and controller very close. For security concerns. The ZWave modules I have. Put their RF antennas on the back side of the front faceplate. Not all the way on the back of the module like the Insteon ones.
  14. Now that I reread the original post. It was indicated a manual speed switch was used. So a Fanlinc was a poor thought on my part.
  15. I would also suggest you check the fans ratings. It is most likely too large for a Fanlinc's ratings but worth a look.
  16. Sounds like you found the best solution for your problem. The Leviton probably has AGC and will work better for you. Than one lone Insteon Device.
  17. I can't say what EEPROM maybe used in the KPL. I do know the 2457D2 uses a Microchip 24LC32A and the 2413 PLM a 24FC64. Both have a 1,000,000 guaranteed Erase Rewrite cycle.
  18. 4.2.18 is the latest Release Candidate. 4.0.5 is the last Official Released firmware.
  19. The sales page doesn't mention adding an X10 address to the 2477D but the full users manual still shows how to do it. You may want to try adding an X10 address to the 2477D and see if the X10 signal can activate it.
  20. If your Leviton Coupler/Repeater is a HCA02 or 6201. It is possible it is seeing the end of an Insteon message and sending out a bogus X10 power line signal. Corrupting the Insteon command to the 2477D. They also do not send an Insteon power line signal back on the homes other phase. With the 2477D being the only Insteon device you have installed. It is very possible the power line and RF Insteon commands are not reaching it. Since the problem didn't seem to change with the Leviton Off and the electrical appliances possibly bridging the incoming Lines.
  21. Yes the EZIO8SA uses its own PLM or their EZIComm version of the PLM. You may get more information from EZIO8SA users. I believe there are some limitations on what the ISY994i can do with that module.
  22. Did you use the Link a Remotelinc choice in the Link Management drop down menu?
  23. The XPNR will absorb noise above and below the X10 120KHz. I am not sure how sharp it is tuned so it could reduce the Insteon 131.65KHz slightly. If you are unfortunate to have noise on 120KHz it may not do any good at all.
  24. They have the same address. Just different contract numbers and executives. Joe Dada is the chairman or founder of both branches. http://investing.businessweek.com/research/stocks/private/snapshot.asp?privcapId=6725700 http://investing.businessweek.com/research/stocks/private/snapshot.asp?privcapId=39270467
  25. UDI provides such great support. Smarthome has developed reputation for poor customer service wait times and actual good answers. UDI should never be merged with Smarthome-Smartlabs.
