  1. I believe it is for installers and dealers to configure a standalone system. Then remove the ISY controller with PLM.
  2. NO do not file. Delete Modem. The PLM's ID will be removed from every device in the system.
  3. I don't see the 2441ZTH listed in the drop down list of modules it knows about. You may want to verify it can even be added to an ISY setup.
  4. Power supplies in some electronic devices will make power line noise or absorb Insteon power line signals. If you can try a different circuit not tied to the I/OLinc that may help or put the POE's AC power supply on a Filterlinc
  5. How old is the SwitchLinc? The earlier hardware versions had a tact switch issue. The paddle would activate the switch and it would click but it didn't make electrical contact. Symptoms where similar to what you are seeing. Paddle works intermittently or stops completely working. Though a controller had complete control. Smarthome actually gave the SwitchLincs in the possible problem manufacturing date range. A seven yeay warranty. You may want to try a power cycle reset on them.
  6. You can't add it to your ISY994i setup as Stu pointed out. Actually after a Factory Reset. The 2000STW has a default X10 address of A1. You can program a different one into it. You can send X10 commands from your ISY994i but only in programs. The optional A10/X10 firmware module allows a few more things to be done. http://wiki.universal-devices.com/index.php?title=ISY-99i_Series_INSTEON:Enhanced_A10/X10
  7. 17 is a very low count. Did you try a count a few times? Any Insteon traffic during the count can make it incorrect. Do you know about how old the 2413S is? There are many reports of them failing in around two years. Mine died at 2 years and 3 months. Just out of warranty. I rebuilt mine from the information in one of the threads here. I understand they recently updated the hardware and firmware in them to correct problems.

    Smarthome.com

They have been doing a complete update to both the Smarthome.com and Insteon.com web sites recently. I had problems from time to time that came and went. Seems much better now. Though I had to get use to some of the new pages and how they access other pages.
  9. The ISY99i is discontinued and because of firmware limitations. It will not support any of the latest Insteon Devices due to older firmware. The last firmware for the ISY99i is 3.3.10.
  10. I can't say about the sales pages. I can verify almost all of the links the developers use. Are now giving an error 404 page not found error. With a message they are getting ready for some big improvements. I just went to the sales site and it seemed to be running OK now. Maybe it is now corrected.
  11. The micro module is available in Dimmer and relay On/Off http://home-automation.smarthome.com/search?w=insteon%202442-222%20micro%20dimmer%20module
  12. In my case. The Filterlinc is all passive components and no added heat. So the PLM isn't getting any added heat from the Filterlinc. I have two early hardware 1.3 2456S3 ApplianceLincs stacked and yes the bottom one gets quite warm. From late 2005 one or two may have gotten flaky. I have replaced the main filter capacitor in all of them. As there seems to be a fair amount of ripple current through them and they get warm.
  13. Make sure the filter is not a generic one but one designed for Insteon or X10. Some generic filters absorb power line signals as noise. UPS AC Input Filters are a common problem with both Insteon and X10. I have a 10 amp Filterlinc on my UPS and the PLM for my ISY994i in the pass through unfiltered outlet on the front of the Filterlinc. Act makes a 15 amp AF120 if you have a load between 10 and 15 amps. As Stu pointed out. Some electronic devices have to be unpluged as just Off keeps their power supply still on the AC power lines to cause issues.
  14. I have found the same thing with many of the dimmable LED bulb models I have tried. They don't start until maybe 20% and may go off at maybe 15%. Many also do not dim linearly. I have also seen one flicker at one dim level but be fine above and below the one level. It is how the bulbs electronics act with the dimmers electronics.
  15. 2412S is OK 2412N is a completely different animal. Though if the 2412S has real old firmware. It could have the small Link Database in it.
  16. BusyRats web site is gone and his domain is now listed on some of those domain selling sites. Not sure if anyone has it archived on their web site. I believe he released it to public domain with no support.
  17. The passive phase bridges should pass Insteon's power line signals fine. The ACT or active coupler repeater may cause Insteon problems. Depends on what model it is. Some see the tail end of an Insteon power line signal as a X10 command and send what they think is a valid X10 power line signal. The only X10 repeater coupler I definitely know does not step on Insteon power line signals. Is the JV Digital Engineering. XTB-IIR. I have one in my mixed system and it blasts over a ten volt X10 power line signal and respects Insteon.

  19. Stu, Do you think a Micro Modules Sense input could be triggered when the fan is turned On or Off? Then it could send a signal back to the ISY controller.
  20. LeeG, I believe some of the latest Insteon devices. Now have the ability to have RF and Power Line communications. Turned On or Off through software commands. Teken's Great review of the 2663-222 Dual Outlet. The ISY module settings screen shot. Shows a check box for RF and Power Line.
  21. The sales page for the ISY994i alone. Has a note on it that a PLM is also needed. There is also a kit with the ISY994i and a 2413S PLM. That has a lower price than ordering the two separate. Called a Starter Kit combination. Side note. When you get the PLM note the labels on the back and let us know what they say. Also the firmware in it as reported by the ISY994i.
  22. The ISY994i communicates with the PLM by a serial connection. So it has to be the 2413S serial one. You may want to look at the UDI Wiki. It has many useful information pages and full users manual for the iSY994i. http://wiki.universal-devices.com/index.php?title=Main_Page
  23. Yes you normally need a 2413S PLM. The Zigbee ISY994iZS has a different firmware that does not use a PLM. http://www.smarthome.com/powerlinc-modem-insteon-2413s-serial-interface-dual-band.html
  24. If the power supply is not regulated and the supply is higher than five volts or has ripple on the output. I would try the resistor as pointed out or get a regulated five volt supply.
  25. The last firmware for the ISY99i was 3.3.10. If you have it in your ISY99i. There are no newer versions.
