I've enabled it via the Admin Console and can see "Matter" in the menubar, but I'm not quite sure how to go about adding devices. Also - does the network connection from eisy need to be WiFi to work with Matter, or can I continue to use a wired network connection? Wired ethernet is probably the better way for your controller to be connected to your network. In fact, the release announcement says: -- Polisy does not support Matter when connected using WiFi. For those with apparently bricked Polisys, how did you upgrade it: wifi or wired? Just looking for any common denominator. Quote
atmarosi Posted February 12 Posted February 12 Wired Polisy here. Upgrade went without issue. Took about 20 minutes. 1 Quote
pinlawr Posted February 12 Posted February 12 (edited) Polisy updated fine. It took around 33 minutes to complete. I have around 15 plugins running. Wired connectivity. Edited February 12 by pinlawr 1 Quote
BobM99 Posted February 12 Posted February 12 (edited) Looking for advice, please. Can't get 4 nodes to restart: Wemo, Nest, Sonos and Blink. Tried multiple reboots, restart node attempts. Thanks. Follow up: I restored Polygot V3 from the backup file and it's all working again. I didn't see this mentioned in the prior posts. If it was, sorry. Edited February 12 by BobM99 Quote
Rocketron Posted February 12 Posted February 12 3. If you have never upgraded your unit, it's best to make sure you have release 13.1 or 13.2 of the OS (https://eisy.local:8443/WEB/sysconfig.txt). If you do not, please do not upgrade. Trying to read the instructions and follow them too! Looked about to find the Polisy OS version and can't find it. Please help? Quote
SSS Posted February 12 Posted February 12 I see this after enable and reboot, how to add devices? I don’t see any add matter devices in iPhone and iPad UD mobile app. How do we add??? Quote
BobM99 Posted February 12 Posted February 12 (edited) @Rocketron Should see something like this at the top (before upgrade it said 13.1 instead of 14.1): *** OS *** FreeBSD eisy 14.1-RELEASE-p6 FreeBSD 14.1-RELEASE-p6 #4 releng/14.1-n267727-74b6c983723c-dirty: Fri Nov 15 12:13:25 PST 2024 root@bsdev14.isy.io:/usr/obj/usr/src/amd64.amd64/sys/eisy amd64 *** Package Information *** Edited February 12 by BobM99 Quote

Rocketron Posted February 12 Posted February 12 Thanks guys, I changed eisy to polisy as I did last time and this time I got a much more detailed report. My first attempt gave a much shorter, truncated report. Weird, I'm going to put it down to I messed up first time. *** OS *** FreeBSD polisy 13.2-RELEASE-p11 FreeBSD 13.2-RELEASE-p11 releng/13.2-n254665-f5ac4e174fdd POLISY amd64 *** Package Information *** Seems I'm good to go! 1 Quote

I have Polisy, have not gotten the courage yet to do this update. I have so much dependent on it and don't want it to go down. However, a good while ago, perhaps 2 years ago, I seemed to have "bricked" my polisy. UD sent me a boot loader to plug into the PCB and that brought it back to life. I still have that boot loader chip which makes me feel like perhaps I could still recover my Polisy in the event I do this update and it goes sideways on me. 1 Quote

GHenry Posted February 12 Posted February 12 5 hours ago, apostolakisl said: I have Polisy, have not gotten the courage yet to do this update. That may be smart. At least the Matter part is alpha software, which basically means "proof of concept," not ready for prime time, and not officially supported yet. It must be every developer's nightmare when their alpha software gets out into the wild. People screaming for support… Quote

SSS Posted February 12 Posted February 12 All said and done, I a still waiting to know “HOW to ADD Matter DEVICES” anyone can help me with this ? Quote
pjjameso Posted February 12 Posted February 12 Quick question, does my zwave internal board mount internally in eisy or do I need the external enclosure? Quote

I had polisy "brick" a couple years ago and UD mailed me a boot loader chip that I plugged into some terminals on the PCB which recovered polisy. Probably that solution still works. 1 Quote
Illusion Posted February 12 Posted February 12 Upgrade to wired Polisy went well. Only notes are I did not get the 4 beeps at the end. Did get beeps throughout. Took about 20m PG3x and system no longer show up at https://polisy.local:8443/WEB/sysconfig.txt) and https://polisy.local:3000 I have to use the IP address. Quote
SSS Posted February 12 Posted February 12 Universal Devices Team, when can we have ETA for being able to add Matter devices using iPhone or Admin Console ? Quote

I'll add a couple of questions to that. - Where does the Zmatter dongle fit into this? - A while back, Philips Hue updated their hubs to be Matter compatible. Does this mean we should be able to add Hue bulbs (now, or later) as Matter devices? Quote
JeffR Posted February 12 Posted February 12 Seamless upgrade for me...took ~10 minutes. I did the SSD upgrade a while back so might explain the speed. Quote
Techman Posted February 12 Posted February 12 The Matter support is a work in progress. The current release is beta and only supports a limited number of devices. Initial support for light bulbs and plugin modules: -- WiFi direct. -- WiFi through a Border Router such as Google Nest Hub or Apple HomePod. -- Thread through a Border Router. The current release of the UD Mobile app supports Matter Quote
