  1. Hello jtara92101, I have to do more digging but, from what I remember, we had to basically add the level to the command (cmd2) in older versions. Putting 0 there would turn it off. The newer i2 versions were different but the difference was so different between differnet devices that we just left it as is. With kind regards, Michel
  2. Hello ingeborgdot, I am sure Control was meant and NOT Command (we do not have such a structure). With kind regards, Michel
  3. Hello johnnyt, We have tried so very many different ways of trying to make this consistent across platforms to no avail. At the moment, the only way to prevent ISY from interrupting other programs is to minimize it. With kind regards, Michel
  4. Hello someguy, Apologies for the inconvenience. The only thing I can think of: 1. You have an older version of 2.8.4. So, the first thing I recommend is downloading and reinstalling it again 2. Java cache ... if you have not done so, please try clearning your cache Please do keep me posted. With kind regards, Michel
  5. Hello johnnyt, Thanks so very much for the update. If the desktop does not have TrendMicro installed, then I do not think the problem is firewall. Please do keep us posted. Wtih kind regards, Michel
  6. Hi windrockwater, You do not need any other modules to use REST. For more information on the REST interface, please take a look at this forum: http://forum.universal-devices.com/viewtopic.php?t=2252 With kind regards, Michel
  7. Hello windrockwater, First of all, you can have as many devices on your network using the same ports as long as they have different IP addresses AND that you are not doing any port forwarding in your router. If the above two conditions are met then do not change anything. Now, in case you want to change the ports - and as you noted - you can certainly do it via Configuration | System tab. It's always a good idea to use ports above 10000. Or, you may want to make sure it's not listed here: http://ports.my-addr.com/tcp_port_list- ... 4-7000.php With kind regards, Michel
  8. Hello johnnyt, Do you have the same issue on your desktop? I know for a fact that Trend Micro blocks ISY events if ISY is not explicitly included in the Trusted Zone. Even turning off the firewall does NOT fix the issue. With kind regards, Michel
  9. Hello apostolakis, Do you know if those that were transfered had gone through "Replace Device" or whether or not you had removed them from ISY and then added the new one back in? This was an issue with older UI but was addressed in 2.7.15. Knowing the scenario will help us figure out if this is a regression. With kind regards, Michel
  10. Hello ergodic/kingwr, There should not be any discernable performance hit having multiple programs instead of one. ISY knows which programs should be evaluated before hand and thus having two or more programs instead of one will not make a difference in performance. With kind regards, Michel
  11. Hi Steve, I just checked our records and it seems that you were not available when we called. Please do call back. With kind regards, Michel
  12. Hi Steve, You might want to try turning off user account settings on your Windows machine and retry. With kind regards, Michel
  13. Hi justin.cool, Unfortunately there's really no comprehensive guide to the Event Viewer. Unfortunately, the events shown are INSTEON traffic and thus you would have to know about INSTEON protocol. We have had this outstanding request to make the Event Viewer more English but just haven't had time. At a high level and what you should look for: 1. For EVERY INST-ACK there should be an INST-SRX ... if there's none, then you have comm errors, if you have mulitple then you will see "Duplicate, ignored" 2. INST-ACK is the response from the PLM to a command sent by ISY 3. INST-SRX is the response from the destination device back to the PLM and in response to #2 4. If you use INST-SRX only without INST-ACK, then these are unsolicited responses such as button press, motion sensor, and thermostats With kind regards, Michel
  14. Hi DevonSpring, LeeG has been kind enough to provide you with the INSTEON traffice for fade start/up/down/stop. Now, what you need to do is to use Fade Up (as a condition in your program) and then use Fade Stop to stop the program. With kind regards, Michel
  15. Hi DevonSprings, You might want to use Fade Up/Fade Down and Fade Stop. Also, in the Action, you have to use Repeat every second so that the resource is called every second while you are holding the button (till Fade Stop). With kind regards, Michel
  16. Hello ML, Apologies for the inconvenience. What firewall software do you have? Some of the symptoms (especially having to sign it twice) are symptomatic of firewall issues on your computer. You might want to take a look at this forum: http://forum.universal-devices.com/viewforum.php?f=3 If all fails, please do not hesitate to contact our tech support team. With kind regards, Michel
  17. Hello johnnyt, Do you still have Java cache disabled? If so, please do enable it. Also, what type of firewall software do you have running on your computer? With kind regards, Michel
  18. Hello again jtara92101, I strongly recommend getting your V35s replaced. From past experience I can tell you that most, if not all of the communications issues will disappear when these units are no longer in the network. To test my hypothesis, simply pull the set button out on these 4 switches (so that they are offline) and retry your tests. With kind regards, Michel
  19. Hello jtara92101, Whooah ... I am so very sorry to hear. Yes, indeed quite symptomatic of V35 SWLs. On the bright side of the coin, you should feel lucky that they are impacting communications with other devices. In most cases, those SWLs actually cause communications errors on unrelated and perfectly functional devices. Good luck! With kind regards, Michel
  20. Hi jtara92101, They are 1000000% benign and have nothing to do with the other symptoms. The reason you get those on the Admin Console is because they are the "last two errors". It seems to me that you have communications errors with your devices. Is it isolated to a few devices or to all of them? Does it happen all the time or only at certain times? Do you get any green 0101 icons? -20000 (cannot write high water mark) in combination with successing INST-ACK (PLM' ACK to our command) without an INST-SRX (response from the device) means that the PLM can NOT communicate with that device. With kind regards, Michel
  21. Hello johnnyt, I am so very sorry to hear. By restart do you mean restarting the Admin Console or ISY or both? I think the best way to address this issue is to call our Tech support to schedule a support call so that we can figure out what's going on. With kind regards, Michel
  22. Hello jtara92101, Completely benign; these are configuration files for the following services (Configuration | Electricity tab) which you have not enabled: fyp = Flex Your Power adr = Open Auto DR These warnings are supressed in 2.8.0+. With kind regards, Michel
  23. Hello jtara92101, We have changed many things but what you are experiencing is a limitation of older INSTEON devices over which we have never had any control. With kind regards, Michel
  24. Hi gatchel, No problem at all! 1. Yes, you can have ISY spider your whole network 2. Please unplug the PH PLM This said, however, my personal preference (based on past experiences) is to simply start from scratch. The reasons are as follows: 1. PH is excellent for ensuring master/slave link relationships are captured correctly. But, this does not mean that the devices have the correct links. For a variety of reasons they might have 1/2 links the outcome of the importing of which into ISY will cause unexpected/unexplained behavior. It will take you longer to figure out the source of issues rather than starting fresh 2. All devices/scenes are imported by their addresses/numbers. It would take you a while trying to figure out which scene is what and which device is which. This gets even more exacerbating if you have many half links With kind regards, Michel
  25. Hi Will, Before concluding a defective thermostat, would you be kind enough to do the following: 1. Remove the thermostat from ISY 2. Factory reset the dongle and then make sure the thermostat is in Off mode (Mode = Off) 3. Add it back to ISY using Link Management | Start Linking With kind regards, Michel
