ZWave Dongle Not Responding ISY994
UD no longer sells the 500 board. It's possible that a forum member may have one to sell. Not sure if you can downgrade the ISY firmware without creating issues. Maybe a forum member may have the answer. Hopefully you have current Zwave and ISY backups made prior to udating to 5,3,4

Remove power from the ISY, then remove the SD Card and clean its contacts with a soft eraser. The contacts can oxidize over time and create issues.

ZWave Dongle Not Responding ISY994
Do you have the 300 or 500 series Zwave board in your ISY? The 300 series board is not supported by 5.3.4 firmware. What firmware version were you running prior to updating to 5.3.4?

Issues connecting with Insteon devices
The EZCOMM / SMARTENIT PLM is comparable to the Insteon 2412S PLM. The PLM was made in 2012 so its firmware is outdated. You'll need the Insteon serial cable as the pin out is different from the stock serial cables.

Newbie Setup Help For Existing Insteon/X10
Do you have an EISY controller. The PLM you have is compatible with the EISY. To link an Insteon device to the EISY you should enter its address xx.xx.xx in the Link Management tab.

Newbie Setup Help For Existing Insteon/X10
What model PLM did you purchase from Insteon. What controller do you have? The X10 protocol is supported by the PLM and EISY. Being that you have some Insteon switches, then you've come to the right place.

Newbie Setup Help For Existing Insteon/X10
@scholarwarrior' Apparently all your devices use the X10 protocol and are not Insteon compatible. Being that you don't want to replace them with Insteon devices then this is probably not the correct forum, as this is site supports Insteon, Z-wave, Zigbee, and Matter protocols. The current, and ony, controller offered by Universal Devices is the EISY. You should probably return the Insteon PLM unless you've already purchased an EISY. UD Store - Universal Devices I think the EISY is more than you need if you're staying with X10 All of the X10 devices and controllers can be found at this link. X10 PRO – X10.COM

Issues connecting with Insteon devices
@smorgasbord Attached is an updated set of instructions for replacing the PLM on an EISY/POLISY Personally, I prefer the USB PLM as there's one less thing to fail. It's also easier to locate the PLM away from the controller using a USB cable. Replace PLM Procedure (EISY or POLISY).pdf

Issues connecting with Insteon devices
The original instructions were written before the eisy/polisy was released. Any reference to the ISY should be replaced with EISY/Polisy. I'll update the instructions to eliminate any reference to the old ISY.

Newbie Setup Help For Existing Insteon/X10
Insteon was launched in 2005, are you sure about the date of your insteon devices. If they're older devices then they're powerline only and don't have the dual band technology (powerline and RF) What is the date code and model number of your PLM, The information is on the PLM sticker You mention that your eisy firmware is 5.84, what is your UI version. You can find that by clicking on Help | About on the admin console. I think you should forget about X10. It's an outdated technology. Insteon is far superior. Prior to moving over to the EISY what were you using to control your Insteon devices.

Unable to edit time schedule in program ISY V5.3.4
@CraigB1 One thing you can try is removing power from the ISY for about 30 seconds.

eisy has started hanging randomly
I would hold off doing anything for a week or two. There's a firmware update that should be coming out fairly soon that may resolve your issue.

Random all on including opening garage door!
Take a look at this article. If you have any Insteon Motion Sensors they are notorious for causing all on events when their batteries are low. All on events won't show up in your event log. https://wiki.universal-devices.com/INSTEON_Random_All_On_Events

Assuming that the load wire on the keypad is capped off, then the program approach is correct.

ISY994 compatibility with newer 700 and 800 series
Being that Zwave is a RF only protocol, the location of the antennas is important in ensuring good RF communication. Devices that are embedded in a wall will have a reduced range, especially if they're mounted in metal electricial boxes. An externally mounted repeater, plugged into a wall outlet, especially one higher up, will improve RF communications.

Insteon 6-button keypad showing up as 5-button
What your seeing is correct. The on and off buttons act as one button, thus the 5 button display. Depending on how you initially linked the keypad, you may have to uninstall it, factory reset it, and install it as a 2334 5 button keypad. Note: you cannot use the "replace with" function unless you're replacing like for like.

ISY994 compatibility with newer 700 and 800 series
All my Zwave devices are either Aeotec or Zooz. Lately I've been going with Zooz as their devices support Zwave 800LR. I'm using the eisy with the 700 series Zmatter board and the Zooz ZAC38 repeater. My system has been 100% reliable. The ISY994 Zwave's antenna is in the enclosure which limits it range. If most of your Zwave devices are located in a wall then their range is somewhat compromised. Not sure why your 700/800 devices are having issues as they have an improved range over the 500 series. I'm not sure if the older 500 series board was Zwave certified which could be an issue with newer devices.

ISY994 compatibility with newer 700 and 800 series
@jeffreycowart The 500 series board in the ISY has a limited range, about 20' or less. Have you tried adding a repeater close to the ISY?

Zooz ZSE70 Outdoor Motion Sensor
@Steve L Here's a conversation on the ZSE70. I have seveal of them but have not yet installed them on my eisy. On the Zooz site they had previously mentioned that the firmware was beta as they were still testing the device on numerous platforms. The reference to beta has since been removed so I assume it's good to go. ZWAVE motion sensor for outdoors - ZMatter - Universal Devices Forum

Other forum member(s) have installed the ZSE70 in the eisy without issues.

Insteon device "already added"
@richardw Try removing power from the eisy for a minute. After it boots up try adding the swtch again.

IOX Launcher not finding eisy - after clearing java cache and reloading
From the UDI Wiki: ISY Launcher cannot find ISY Make certain that you are using ISY Launcher. This is a MUST If you have VPN software running, Admin Console cannot search for ISY on your computer. Please disable the VPN, find ISY's IP address and then click the Add button and enter it manually Make certain that, after reboot, the pattern of lights is as described here If you have recently changed your modem/router, please follow these instructions If you have any firewall software, make sure it's configured properly If all the above have been checked, it's almost a guarantee that that your ISY is not on the same network as your computer. Perhaps at some point you might have configured ISY with a static IP address. Or, that your WiFi network is not connected to the wired network.
