2443-222 detect when the yellow sense 1 is triggered
Techman replied to vandy's topic in INSTEON Communications Issues
I've used the Insteon motion sensors outdoor for many years without problems. I have them mounted under eves so they don't get directly exposed to rain. If you have Zwave then ther are waterproof outdor Zwave motion sensors available from Zooz -
Take a look at this article. If you have any Insteon Motion Sensors they are notorious for causing all on events when their batteries are low. All on events won't show up in your event log. https://wiki.universal-devices.com/INSTEON_Random_All_On_Events

Assuming that the load wire on the keypad is capped off, then the program approach is correct.

ISY994 compatibility with newer 700 and 800 series

ISY994 compatibility with newer 700 and 800 series
Techman replied to jeffreycowart's topic in Z-Wave - Series 300/500
Being that Zwave is a RF only protocol, the location of the antennas is important in ensuring good RF communication. Devices that are embedded in a wall will have a reduced range, especially if they're mounted in metal electricial boxes. An externally mounted repeater, plugged into a wall outlet, especially one higher up, will improve RF communications. -
What your seeing is correct. The on and off buttons act as one button, thus the 5 button display. Depending on how you initially linked the keypad, you may have to uninstall it, factory reset it, and install it as a 2334 5 button keypad. Note: you cannot use the "replace with" function unless you're replacing like for like.

ISY994 compatibility with newer 700 and 800 series
Techman replied to jeffreycowart's topic in Z-Wave - Series 300/500
All my Zwave devices are either Aeotec or Zooz. Lately I've been going with Zooz as their devices support Zwave 800LR. I'm using the eisy with the 700 series Zmatter board and the Zooz ZAC38 repeater. My system has been 100% reliable. The ISY994 Zwave's antenna is in the enclosure which limits it range. If most of your Zwave devices are located in a wall then their range is somewhat compromised. Not sure why your 700/800 devices are having issues as they have an improved range over the 500 series. I'm not sure if the older 500 series board was Zwave certified which could be an issue with newer devices. -

@jeffreycowart The 500 series board in the ISY has a limited range, about 20' or less. Have you tried adding a repeater close to the ISY? -
@noobmuch The promotion was offered by Insteon, I just reposted i on the forum for the benefit of the members.

@Steve L Here's a conversation on the ZSE70. I have seveal of them but have not yet installed them on my eisy. On the Zooz site they had previously mentioned that the firmware was beta as they were still testing the device on numerous platforms. The reference to beta has since been removed so I assume it's good to go. ZWAVE motion sensor for outdoors - ZMatter - Universal Devices Forum

Other forum member(s) have installed the ZSE70 in the eisy without issues.

@richardw Try removing power from the eisy for a minute. After it boots up try adding the swtch again.

IOX Launcher not finding eisy - after clearing java cache and reloading
Techman replied to twired's topic in IoX Support
From the UDI Wiki: ISY Launcher cannot find ISY Make certain that you are using ISY Launcher. This is a MUST If you have VPN software running, Admin Console cannot search for ISY on your computer. Please disable the VPN, find ISY's IP address and then click the Add button and enter it manually Make certain that, after reboot, the pattern of lights is as described here If you have recently changed your modem/router, please follow these instructions If you have any firewall software, make sure it's configured properly If all the above have been checked, it's almost a guarantee that that your ISY is not on the same network as your computer. Perhaps at some point you might have configured ISY with a static IP address. Or, that your WiFi network is not connected to the wired network. -
2443-222 detect when the yellow sense 1 is triggered
Techman replied to vandy's topic in INSTEON Communications Issues
I don't have a 2443 to look at but could you eliminate the PE cell and use a Sunset/sunrise program to trigger the switch. If you need motion you could add an insteon motion sensor. -
@smorgasbord Try using Multimedia Messaging Service, which AT&T still supports. (your phonr number) @MMS.ATT.NET

Cannot determine device link table address
Techman replied to MGustin's topic in INSTEON Communications Issues
@MGustin The 2 wire Insteon switch will not work will LED bulbs. It was designed to work only with incandescent bulbs. The led bulbs have a driver circuit which prevents the switch from receiving enough volltage to operate. A work around is to add a load resistor. 2474DWH 2 wire Switchlinc manual.pdf -

@smorgasbord Being that your email was working on your ISY It's probably best to submit a support ticket. You should get a quick response. https://www.universal-devices.com/my-tickets After you get it resolved, post the action taken.

Just looked at your error log. Your SMTP settings are either incorrect or you don't have an good internet connection. Check your eithernet cable. Are your firmware and UI the same version? It's also possible that your migration got corrupted. There's no option to write messages to the admin console, not sure about UD Mobile. There are 4 eisy files in your windows temporary folder starting with UDI_TREE.STATE. You can delete them, which may or may not help.

@smorgasbord Can you post a copy of your error log. You might also try rebooting the eisy. Being that your regular email account works, why not use those settings for the eisy rather than the default SMTP server

Cannot determine device link table address
Techman replied to MGustin's topic in INSTEON Communications Issues
"Cannot determine Insteon engine" means that the PLM is unable to communicate with the device. The error is usually caused by either entering the incorrect device address during linking or poor comunications between the controller and the device. -
AT&T blocks most email to SMS messages. They use a very agressive spam filter. You should be able to use TEXT from the eisy however the message may not format properly. Have you tried using your own email server rather than the default server? Which ISP are you using?
