Insteon Hubs Bricked? Insteon going out of business? What about switch purchase, what now?
@Teken, A company can submit a bankruptcy filing to the court and the court has the option to refuse the bankruptcy request, which is apparently what happened two years ago. My best guess is that they will try again depending on if there are creditors pursuing them. Even though they are essentially shut down, the Smarthome.com web site is still up, and they just renewed the domain name for an additional 10 years, so I would assume they are hoping that a buyer will pick it up,

Insteon Hubs Bricked? Insteon going out of business? What about switch purchase, what now?
Here's some reliable but unverified information on the Smartlabs/Smarthome shutdown. They tried to file bankruptcy about two years ago, but the case was dismissed by the Judge. They defaulted on their lease at 1621 Alton Parkway and were in arrears on their rent.

ISY is going crazy
I recently had an Insteon on/off module turn on without any user or program intervention. A few days later I experienced an all on event, where several of my older modules turned on. I traced the problem back to the (failing) on/off module. I tried a factory reset / restore but the ISY had difficulty communicating with the module. I replaced the module, and all my problems went away. The defective module was a hardware version 1.0 dated 2013

Insteon Hubs Bricked? Insteon going out of business? What about switch purchase, what now?
I just noticed that Smarthome renewed their domain name last month for an additional 10 years. So, either they plan on selling the domain or are hopeful that someone will come along and salvage the mess they left behind.

Insteon Hubs Bricked? Insteon going out of business? What about switch purchase, what now?
Sometime after the 16542 Millikan property was sold to developers they moved to a lease in the Eureka Building at 1621 Alton Parkway. Apparently their Alton Parkway lease expired at the end of January, 2022 as their space was put on the market for lease available as of February 1, 2022.

@Michel Kohanim That sounds somewhat encouraging, Can you also find out if they're sitting with any other Insteon inventory that maybe they haven't been paid for and would like to sell?

Zwave device recommendation
I use their Multisensor 6 and Smart Switches. I've had only positive results with their devices and support. Their devices are end user firmware upgradeable which I think is a big plus. They're slowly upgrading their inventory to the series 7 chipset.

Nokia just licensed their name I doubt they would want to get involved in manufacturing the product. It's going to be interesting to see where the remnants of Insteon end up. Smarthome/Smartlabs basically has nothing left. There's no real estate, there's no goodwill and there's no inventory. The only item left is the patent which apparently expires in 2026. I doubt anyone would invest in something that's going to expire in a few years. We need someone with access to the legal databases to keep an eye on Smarthome's asset(s). Maybe there's a creditor who will end up with the patent and who has no use for it.

When you cleared your java cache did you also check the box to clear applications, this would have deleted the ISY finder from your desktop.

Just did some research. The one-story Industrial property Smarthome / Smartlabs was located in at 16541 Millikan Ave, was sold to developers for $21,000,000 in December 2018. At that same time the developer got approval to demolish the property and replace it with a large multi story residential complex. Not sure if Smarthome was a just tenant or had an equity interest in the property. But it seems the writing on the wall several years ago. Maybe it's time to reach out to them and try to make a deal on the PLM chip. Any idea how much time remains on their patent?

Looks like their whole operation may be shut down. All the 3rd party products they sold on the Smarthome website are either "out of stock" or they refer you to Amazon. I wonder what will become of the Insteon patent. Being that they pretty much ran the company into the ground I would assume its value is minimal. It's certainly a sad state of affairs.

Sure seems that way. I think Michel mentioned a while back that they were trying to sell the Company. Does anyone with installer or developer access to Smartlabs have any updates?

I just tried calling the local phone number listed for the app developer, seems to be disconnected. Their 800 number has a recording saying to email them. I guess everything hit the fan this month.

Here's something interesting. Smartlabs released an app on the Apple store, updated February 2022, to control the (currently unavailable) Nokia product line. Go figure that one out. https://apps.apple.com/us/app/nokia-smart-lighting/id1540152104

Not only is the forum offline but the local phone numbers for both Smartlabs and Smarthome are no longer working. The Smarthome 800 number tells you to contact them via email. Over the last few weeks I've sent them several emails and never received a response. Has anyone received an email response from them?

New Install; Polisy Unable to communicate with PLM
Try doing a factory reset on the Polisy. Make sure you PLM is not plugged in and that your ethernet cable is plugged into the RJ45 port closest to the DB9 connector with the other end plugged into your router. Using the end of a paperclip push it into the hole on the right front of the Polisy and follow the directions below. You'll need a DB9 to ethernet cable in order to interface the PLM with the Polisy. One came with you PLM, if you don't have it then you can buy one on Amazon Factory Reset Press and hold the button till all LEDs start blinking then release. This action resets the credentials, removes all configurations from Polyglot/Polisy, and resets networking.

All Insteon Devices turn on without any intervention
I'm not familiar with the MS II but is there an option to adjust the voltage that triggers the low battery notification? I use the older motion sensors and the low battery notification has never worked. I wrote a program that monitors the dusk / dawn signal, when that doesn't report I know it's time to replace the battery
