Getting ready to move to Polisy, latest version prior to conversion?
@GQuack It's recommended that you update the ISY to 5.3.4 prior to the migration. You should also update the Polisy to the latest firmware prior to the move, Here's the migration notes: Polisy:User Guide - Universal Devices, Inc. Wiki (universal-devices.com)

Insteon acquired and servers coming back up
Are you bringing back the Insteon forum? Yes. It's high on our list of to-do's and it will be coming back soon. What happened to smarthome.com? Another entity has purchased the smarthome.com domain – Insteon is no longer connected to Smarthome. You’ll be able to buy Insteon products directly through Insteon.com and other partners in the future. If you still have unanswered questions, please reach out to support@insteon.com - response times are long while we rebuild the team. Thank you for your patience and understanding.

Insteon acquired and servers coming back up
For those that made the leap forward there's no reason to turn back. I expect, based on what the new Insteon owners have said thus far, we will see the Insteon devices become available again. The timeline is uncertain due to numerous constraints, have patience. Riddle solved.

Insteon acquired and servers coming back up
Several years ago I was told by the head of product development at Smartlabs that they were working on developing a programable touch keypad. I don't know if it ever made it off the drawing board or if they ever developed a prototype.

Insteon acquired and servers coming back up
It's possible that some of the data a particular node server needs is internet based, thus the connection to the internet in order for the data to stay current.
-
Insteon acquired and servers coming back up
Once the node server is installed on the Polisy it's linked to the Polisy UUID. The only reason I can think of for it to access the internet would be for portal access or to check for updates.

@MrBill It's time to do an experiment, disconnect your Polisy from the internet and lets see what works and what doesn't.

It was in an email sent out to Hub users. I just came across it, I don't have a Hub, but I did send Ken an email the other day asking hime to keep us apprised as to product availibility.

Insteon acquired and servers coming back up
Many of you asked about product availability. We started talking with the factories prior to acquiring Insteon to ensure we were able to obtain components and get the assembly lines ready to go as soon as possible. My confidence was high then and now that I'm in the driver's seat, we are pushing things forward. We aren't ready to share timelines yet but I will let you know as soon as we have something concrete. Those that aren't joining us on this journey, we are disappointed yet understanding given the past experiences. We wish you all the best. On behalf of the whole Insteon team we thank you for your trust in us and please let us know if we can do anything better or if you have any concerns. Best regards, Ken Fairbanks CEO, Insteon Technologies

Anyone use a light sensing device to trigger Insteon signal?
Take a look at the Aeotec multisensor 6. It's a Z-wave device if you're so equipped.

2477D for an attic fan
NO, you can't use a dimmer switch on a fan motor. You would need either the on/off module or the 2477S. It also depends on the amperage of your fan. They both support up to 15 amps

Insteon acquired and servers coming back up
Maybe they'll sell the Smarthome domain, it would give them some nice working capital Looks like the new Company is going to focus on the Insteon Hub and Insteon devices. If they decide to take that direction, I think it would be a good move. For now, they need to focus on quality not quantity.

Restoring PLM with Polisy Pro taking forever!!!
@Michaelv The following is from the Polisy documentation. The 2412U isn't listed as supported Polisy supports the following PLMs: 2412S and 2413S through the DB9 connector on the back. 2413U and 2448A7 through the USB port on the back. If you have a 2413S (serial), you will need a cable that looks like this

@upstatemike At this point in time they have provided a direct link, so at least you know you'll be heard

Restoring PLM with Polisy Pro taking forever!!!
The 2413S has a serial interface and needs to be connected to the DB9 jack on the Polisy using the cable that was furnished with the PLM. If you don't have the cable, you can purchase one here: PLM Serial Cable - Smartenit The easy migration path would be to use your existing 2413S PLM which is already populated with your devices. Smarthome is back in business with a new owner and hopefully they will start manufacturing the PLMs again. Read the Smarthome thread for the latest updates

Polisy and I/O Linc 2450.
The power supplies from your numerous devices created noise on the powerline. It's not an uncommon occurrence. The best workaround is to use a powerline noise filter between the powerbar and the outlet. Insteon use to make one called the Filterlinc which is currently unavailable. X10pro makes one that should work @ x10pro.com
