Problem Programming KeypadLinc
Possibly the KPL relay if its rating is not at least 15 amps which is the rating of most outlets. The dual bands are rated at 20 amps but I would have to look for the older power line only ones. Found the 2486S in the Discontinued category. 13 amps, 480 Watts Incandescent. A standard mechanical wall switch can control an outlet as it is rated for 15 amps.

Problem Programming KeypadLinc
Well sometimes a different brand of CFL will act differently. Some have used the small Leviton wire in filter between the Insteon KPL or SwitchLinc Load connection and the load. Small enough to fit in most electrical boxes. http://www.smarthome.com/4835/Leviton-6 ... ock/p.aspx. Try running a test with the ApplianceLinc, the ISY Controller and the CFLs Off. With the Event Viewer in level 3 reporting. Turning it On and Off. If the hop count is 1 or 0 and changes randomly. You may have a poor signal to that ApplianceLinc and the CFL is enough to stop communications. Improving the signal to the ApplianceLinc maybe enough to overcome the CFL noise or signal absorptions.

Problem Programming KeypadLinc
Well not all CFLs care 100% the same. One of them could be a problem. Though my thoughts are. You have a very marginal signal to the ApplianceLinc and any added power line noise takes it over the edge. Have you tried using the Event Viewer in level 3 and using My Lighting to turn it On and Off. While having the KPL with the problem load both On and Off?

Problem Programming KeypadLinc
Is the KPL a dimmer type and what type load is it controlling? The load maybe noisy or a signal sucker. So when the load is On the power line Insteon signals can't get to the ApplianceLinc and maybe marginal when the load is Off but still activates the AppliancLinc.

Are "dual band devices" a joke?
Fancy metal switch plate covers can kill almost all the RF signals from a Dual Band device. Power line noise can be a problem. RF devices like baby monitors and cordless phones in the 900MHz band can be a problem. Have you done the four set button tap communications routine to verify communications with the SwitchLinc across the room? Controlling the incorrect load with a dimmer type switch can be a problem. No nondimmable CFL and LED Bulbs or low voltage loads. I would try the Event Viewer in Level 3 as suggested and see what it shows.

Adding Motion: Cannot Determine Insteon Engine
If the RF transmitter or receiver portion of the Motion Sensor has failed. You may still see the LED flash and detect motion but no signal is sent back to an Access Point or Dual band receiver.

Current State of Devices - blank
Same with me. I also did not reboot the ISY994i just my operating system. I also verified the ISY994i's address was in Zone Alarms Trusted list. Microsoft's Security Essentials has never been a problem and I doubt it was this time. I also tried a query and could see messages going out by a modules LED flashing with power line messages.

Current State of Devices - blank
The same thing happened to me this morning with 3.3.10. Not sure if it is related but I rebooted windows XP and all was back. I also still have Java 7.11 Security set to disable IE plug ins.

Re: Release 3.3.10 (RC7) Is Now Available
The "ISY Finder" running and ending up behind the Administrative Console when the jnlp program is run. Is normal on my XP system. Do you have the Java Plug Ins enabled while trying to create the shortcut? I believe it has to be enabled and then after the shortcut is created. You go back into the Java Control Panel and disable the plug ins.

Insteon Motion Sensor
2442 SignalLinc RF is the original coupler type device. It uses a different RF frequency so it can only talk to another 2442. It also will not receive any signals from Insteon RF device or Dual Band devices. If memory serves me they also do not process Extended Insteon messages so I2CS device are another problem.

Re: Release 3.3.10 (RC7) Is Now Available
Thanks LeeG; I also used the step 'c.' web link and also got the UI of 3.3.9 and not 3.3.10. I removed the incorrect application in the Java Control Panel. Then manually used the modified link information you gave. Now both my Firmware and UI say 3.3.10.

Desktop shortcut
After my update. When I did the Java cache clear. I checked all the choices including remove old cached applications and applications. The shortcut and old application for the earlier shortcut where removed. Then I downloaded the new one as LeeG indicated.

How To: IOLink Lighted Doorbell
Q1. If you still want to use your original doorbell. ELK makes a doorbell sensor {ELK930} that connects to your bells wiring and senses the bells current when ringing and has a dry contact output that can trigger an I/OLincs Sensor Input I have tested one with an I/OLinc and it works. Using it would not be the same as the project here as you don't control the lighted features of the bell push button.

Release 3.3.8 (RC5) Is Now Available
I let the update to install but kept the Enable Java Content in Browser choice unchecked. In the Security tab.

Release 3.3.8 (RC5) Is Now Available
I saw a Internet story that they expected to have a update by Tuesday. Maybe they got urged to make it happen sooner.

Flash Cycles Typical Limit
Not sure what EEPROM is in the latest units. I know the ones in my older modules. Is guaranteed 1,000,000 erase/write cycles. Though I would imagine most go for more than guaranteed cycles.
