  1. I will try a static address and setting the DNS to 8.8.8.8
  2. Thank you MikeD and paulbates for your information. The 7550 has AT&T custom firmware and manual setting the DNS address is locked out. My earlier 2-Wire ones did have that option. Paul I will try the web address you gave me. I believe since there is no DNS server found by the 7550 interface. It may also not work. On the TV news this morning. Thousands of now Frontier customers are completely out of service. With 3/4 to one hour wait time for support. I may leave the band aid in place and hope they will get it fixed sometime. I can do the manual time sync to computer time in the Administrative Console for now.
  3. Thank you for the feedback Teken. Since the 7550 is the DSL Interface, four port wired router and wireless router. I am not sure if I can do what you suggested.
  4. After looking at the setup again. I may have my answer but not a solution. I set my LAN to use the Google Free DNS Server in each of my computers. The ISY994i is on a different port than the computers. The 7550 is also the 4 port router. My thoughts are the ISY994i is accessing the web directly through the Gateway that has the now defunct DNS Server Address in it. Any thoughts on my theory or a solution would be appreciated.
  5. You did wake it up first by holding the set button until the LED starts flashing? Battery devices go into a battery saving mode and can't be accessed until you wake them up.
  6. Yesterday at 12:01 AM. All of AT&T's wire line division became Frontier Communications here in CT. Early yesterday. All my access to any web site was lost with an address not found. My AT&T 7550 Gateway has great tests built in. Seems the DNS Server programmed into it is not accessible any more. Maybe still and AT&T DNS Server. So Frontier had me add the Google Free DNS Server to LAN setup in the computer and not use the one in the Gateway. I am using "pool.ntp.org" and the Google Free DNS Server seems to not find it as I am getting a failure message. All my other links work {so far anyway} just the time server has issues. Is there maybe a different link I can use the the Google Free DNS Server may accept? Thanks for any information you can provide.
  7. Check the descriptions of the zigbee devices it supports. Only some devices are supported.
  8. Since the PR511 is an X10 device. You could not link it to your ISY994i. It could send X10 power line commands to it and receive X10 power line messages. Do you have the optional A10/X10 Firmware Module?
  9. Michel; SD and Micro SD cards are manufactured in various Class ratings. Any particular Class is best for ISY use? I have read the higher class modules {video recording etc.} have a faster write speed but usually the read speed suffers.
  10. The internal photos of the 2477D Dual Band show all surface mounted parts. The older power line only ones. Where also almost all surface mounted components. Except a few components like the triac controlling the voltage to the Load. Maybe you blew the triac as it looks like the older leaded voltage regulators.
  11. How old is your PLM? They have a reputation of failing. Usually a few months after the warranty expires. In the Tools Tab. Diagnostics. Show PLM Link Table. What does it show? If it is almost empty. You can try a restore ISY on it and see if things get better. You can also see what the PLM Info/Status choice shows.
  12. If the generator is using a modified sine wave output and not a pure sine wave. As Stu suggested. Unplugging maybe a good thing to do.
  13. I have seen LED bulbs sold as Cree but not made by Cree. Some manufacturers say Cree because they used a Cree LED pack on their drivers. I would also not rule out. Some Chinese knockoffs.
  14. I believe Cree's only being sold through Home Depot may have expired. I now see them on other web sites. Though all of mine here from Home Depot. I also have some of the Switch Lighting Infinia bulbs. Yes the ones with the liquid cooling. Life time warranty but since they folded. Not much good.
  15. Small world. I was born in Northern New Jersey. Incandescent bulbs are gone as far as I have seen. They do make a Halogen replacement for them. That squeak under the Energy Requirements. I have a few 72 watt ones that replaced the old 100 watt incandescent. Where I didn't want to use an LED bulb. Though LEDs are getting much more affordable. Most of mine are Philips, Cree and Sylvania. I did rewire a few 4 foot Fluorescent fixtures to use a Naturaled brand LED T8/T12 tube. They are driven by 120 volts AC directly and the ballast is bypassed. Down side is. If you ever put an original tube back into it. It shorts the 120 volts AC and required a unshunted socket to mate with the replacement tube. As the 120 Volts AC is connected to the pins on one end. I have not tested them for noise or signal sucking.
  16. The dimming Ballast maybe making power line noise and causing the KPL to act strange. I have a few loads. That can make an ApplianceLinc pulse On and Off a few times when turned On.
  17. Unless you are talking the optional Z-Wave card in an ISY994i. There is no RF processing in it. There is an optional external antenna for the Z-Wave card. The 2431S PLM is the Dual Band module used by the ISY994i controller. I have seen no external antennas mentioned for the 2413S PLM. We did verify the loads are incandescent or 120 volt Halogen bulbs and not a low voltage bulb with a driver or transformer?
  18. No test addresses may cause unneeded message retries to modules not in the system. Since it is a relay type KPL. Does it physically chatter or just the load itself flutters? Enough power line noise could cause the load to flutter and confuse the controller in the KPL. If it is a confused controller. If you do a power reset {not a factory reset} would unlock it. Pulling out the Air Gap switch for ten seconds and gently pushing it back to its normal position would cycle the power. Pushing it all the way in does a Factory Reset, unless it has the new flow chart routines in it. Poor connection on the Line,Load or Neutral lead may also cause things like fluttering loads.
  19. Some Insteon Modules have been shipped with test links and X10 Addresses in them from the factory. Many of us automatically do a Factory Reset on all our modules as we installed them.
  20. Actually three links in the device. The last line with all 0's is the first unused link address in the device.
  21. If you have not downloaded the Manual for the Range Extenders. It explains the four tap communications test. http://cache.insteon.com/pdf/2992-222qs-us.pdf
  22. How old is it? Since it is built on a base PLM with a custom daughter card. The base PLM could be starting to fail. Reports are usually around the two year old mark. Loosing all links was one of the symptoms of a PLM failing.
  23. Even if you drop the 220 VAC to 120 VAC. The 50 Cycle line frequency. Will mess up the timing. As the PLM is 60 cycles only.
  24. Some CFLs may act strange on a dimmer. So observe them at 100% for any odd behavior. Also setting the On Off Ramp Time to the fastest the module can accept. Would also be recommended.
  25. ELK even makes a heavy duty relay in an enclosure. 220 volts 60 amp contacts. Has a 120 volt power cord you use a module like an X10 appliance module or Insteon ApplianceLinc to turn On and Off. http://www.smarthome.com/elk-heavy-duty-relay-contactor-in-a-lockable-metal-structured-wiring-panel-enclosure.html
