  1. IndyMike covered things. I would second if you have older power line modules and the system is resorted to I1 communications. That takes eight message and acknowledgement for one link database replacement in a module. Noise and communication issues may effect the restore or PLM replacement messages.
  2. Is the 2.6 on the white sticker of the PLM? That is the revision level 2.6 not the firmware. The probably version firmware is 9E. As I know rev 2.5 had the 9E and I don't think they went higher as 9E had been the standard over many revisions. Revision 2.4 and 2.5 have the new serial port board and power supply capacitors. So you should have the better PLM as the replacement.
  3. Official X10 sales site. Shows both the XPPF and XPF in stock. Only downfall for the XPF wire in filter is. Size. As it is a 20 amp filter and large in size. Insteon.com is also showing the FilterLinc in stock.
  4. You have several Range Extenders not Access Points? I don't think they have not been sold that long ago. They have all surface mounted capacitors except one high voltage one in the primary off the switching supply. Now the Access Points with all electrolytic capacitors could easily have the caps replaces. Especially the V2 Access point as they on the same PLM base board including the famous switching supply capacitor issues.
  5. The Range Extender's I have checked out. Are a 2457D2 LampLinc with the dimmer electronics not installed. You probably will see the 2457D2 LampLinc FCC database on it. Most here are use a plug in Dual Band module to do range extending and as a bonus. If you eventually need the dimmer or On/Off function. You already have one in hand. I am using a 2457D2 as a Range Extender. Not even in the ISY994i system. As it is range extending only for me and not needing any ISY control or access.
  6. Thank you for this information. I referenced it on the Insteon Forums and Smarthome John gave more information. They had a stock pile of the chip and have sent them to the manufacture. Also mentioned they did get some of the dimmers in I believe today.
  7. The Sentrol sensors may not work on an I/OLinc Sensor Input. I could not find the manual for it. If it has a dry contact output then it should control the Sensor Input on an I/OLinc. If it is designed to be on a sensing loop and drawing power from the loop then it would not work on a I/OLinc's sensor input.
  8. I have not seen one. I know I can get a rough level on my X10 ELK ESM1's LED Level Bar Graph display.
  9. I have a Dual Band On/Off plug in module. It has the Green half of the LED defective and it does not light. So another possibility is it has a failed RED half of the dual color LED.
  10. If you are not in the 4Tap-Beacon-Communications test and your module has the blink LED on traffic and it is enabled. Noise can flash the LED. I have also seen some mention that noise can occasionally fool the polite feature in a module and it waits to send until it thinks it is clear.
  11. The supply in the link. Is 12V 1Amp the converter for the other sized barrel connector adapter is .6A
  12. UPS units have a power line conditioner in them. That see Insteon and X10 power line signals as noise and absorb the signals. So another possibility is the UPS is absorbing the signals. Fix is the same a FilterLinc on the UPS AC input. I have a FilterLinc on my UPS and the 2413S PLM on the unfiltered outlet on the front.
  13. Are the effected ones new enough to be Dual Band? The original power line only modules will not respond to a 4 tap or communications test. I too think you may have a new noise source or signal sucker. If only a few or many do not follow commands.
  14. We can't update the firmware. Technically the folks at Insteon could. The PLM has two programming connectors. One for the RF controller and the other main controller. Though you need a programmer used for the model controller chip being used and the Source Code and we know that will probably never be made public.
  15. Here is one I found. It is a common issue with the I/OLinc as it was not updated (as far as I know) to remove the All On response. https://forum.universal-devices.com/topic/42728-garage-door-opens-unexpectedly/page/2/#comment-379116
  16. Coffee Shop sounds like a good place.
  17. I have had similar findings with an ISY99i and ISY994i. Bad power supply and flashing power on led.
  18. Main Board has the firmware in the main processor and firmware for the separate RF controller. Daughter board the link memory and USB or Serial interface chip. Only thing that may cause an issue. Is if the device connected to the PLM checks the Category and Subcategory reported by the PLM. There is a different Subcategory for a USB or Serial Port PLM. A USB daughter board in a Serial PLM would report it was a Serial Port PLM. Though I don't know if too many programs accessing a PLM check.
  19. In the 2413U. The daughter board has the USB interface chip on it. Along with the link memory. After conversion. The same signals are used to and from the main board.
  20. eiay or a ISY994i? If an ISY994i do you have the PRO model?
  21. I am also using a V572. In my case I used the TW523 port on my XTB-IIR. Jeff's great XTB523 is also well known and works great. Unfortunately WGL has also gone out of business.
  22. I also saw the posts missing. Did not check back to see if the one line was still there.
  23. Yes like all RF only devices. You have to wake it up first. If you picked with the link management remotelinc2 method. I believe it gives you the method as you try and add it. I believe using the SET button to start it in the linking mode. Full Manual should have given you that. If you had the PRO option. On the top of the administrative console. Would be two added choices. For Automatic updates for RF devices and for Automatic updates for all devises. It also allowed a larger number of devices you could use with the ISY994i. If it didn't come with PRO. You would have to purchase it to add it.
  24. If you want more details. I have some tips and ways to do it easily.
  25. Are you using the Link a Remotelinc2 choice in the Link Management list? That should give you three choices. 8 Scene, 2 Scene and Switch. In your case 8 scene. From the product information we got in the Developers Group. 0 1A 8 Scene US frequency. 0 1B 4 Scene US frequency. 0 1C On Off switch US frequency. The other numbers you are seeing. Are for the older 2443A2xxx remotes and not what you indicated you have. Remember if you have the PRO add on. Make sure you have automatic updates to RF devices enabled. https://cache.insteon.com/documentation/2342-x22-en.pdf
