Does the Leak Sensors RF signal reach to the PLM directly? If it is being passed on by any power line devices. The PLM will still not see the water leak sensed signal. With power off.

First I would try a different cable between the ISY Controller and the PLM. Also verify that none of the pins in the connectors are bent out of contact. Yes you can do a manual factory reset. Just remember that sets everything back to blank. So no module IDs will be in it's Link Database. Unplug the PLM and ISY Controller power supply. Disconnect the ISY controller from the PLM. While holding the set button on the PLM. Plug it back in and keep holding the set button for at least ten seconds. The LED will be Red. Then release the set button and wait for the LED to illuminate Green and beep.

Try the built in communications tests. Outlined in your full users manual. Maybe called the beacon test or four tap test. You can start by tapping the set button on the PLM four times. It should start beeping. Then with in four minutes {it will timeout}. Observe the LEDs on your other Dual Band devices. On dual colored LEDs. Flashing green is communicating and on other phase. Flashing Red is communicating on same phase. No LED action. Not communicating at all. You can try the same tests from other Dual Band devices to see what they can talk to. You only need one or more on each phase communicating. So everyone will not be on opposite phases from each other. Some Dual Band modules are influenced by where mounted and if in a metal switch box if a switch type module.

Mine still show on the little tools buttons near the top of the Administrative Console and in the Files drop down menu. Firmware 4.1.1 and UI 4.1.1. It was the same when I was on 4.1.1. My OS is Windows not sure if it is of any relevance. Grayed Out indicates Automatic Writes are disabled.

What temperature sensor are you using? Sounds like one of the I/OLinc Kits with a temperature sensing switch that goes On and Off a preset points. That may assist in determining what device you are trying to get a status from.

The EZIO8SA uses the PLM to communicate and I believe store its Link Database. Through a serial connection from it to its PLM. The smaller modules like the EZIO40 are built on the OEM Base PLM they buy from Smartlabs and they add their own Daughter Card to it.

I just tested a hardware 1.8. Firmware 0x41 {Developers I2CS Kit may not be a production revision}. It triggered at 0.970 volts to ground that was about a 770 Ohm resistance.

If it is stopped at that screen. You are not where you need to be. It has been awhile. I believe the Load choice will get you to the Administrative Console. If not it is the Save Choice.

I did some tests on a few I/OLincs and found that the resistance had to be less than around 800 Ohms between Sensor Input and Ground terminal and pull the Sensor Voltage below 1.0 volts. Where mine triggered. It was also possible for the LED on the side to glow dimly and still not be triggered. Found that with the ill fated original leak sensor I/OLinc Kits. I would think that 100 feet of wire would be well below 800 Ohms but would be concerned with noise maybe false triggering them. I have a home made sketch of the Sensor Input on my earlier ones and will check a later revision one tomorrow for changes.

It maybe possible. That relay two is closing and sending the proper command and relay one has not opened up yet. Causing its group command to be sent after relay two sent its message. If the 12 volt signals you are using. Are ramping up and down and not instantly On or Off. Good chance the relay being turned On reaches its pull in voltage before the other relays drop out voltage is reached. You maybe able to use some programming in your ISY controller to compensate for your overlapping messages.

If you can't get a Synchrolinc to work on a 220 dryer. Some folks have used a current sensor that has a dry switch output and a I/OLinc's sensor input or one of the Smartenit modules with Inputs. http://cocoontech.com/forums/topic/1142 ... erfurnace/

LeeG covered it nicely. The I2CS firmware devices did eliminate some of the I1 and I2 commands or handle them differently. The ISY99i you have can't use firmware above 3.3.10 due to space limitations. So new modules are not supported properly. If you don't have 3.3.10 you may want to install it. Not sure how old your PLM is? UDI does have an upgrade offer on their sales page. To upgrade to an ISY994I from a ISY99i. An ISY994i can use the latest firmware that does support the latest modules and the original ones also. My hardware 1.3 Appliancelincs are still supported as is my hardware 4.A Appliancelincs.

sloop, Long time since I saw you posting. I still find your description of early Insteon Devices that had issues as "craplincs" unique. Smartlabs/Smarthome added a new Insteon Protocol called I2CS {I2 with Check Sum} starting in March 2012. Old I1 commands where eliminated and requiring the controllers ID in its link database or it just NAKed back and didn't respond. X10 was also dropped in some modules.

Many users factory reset new modules also. Not too common but we have seen reports of new modules. Shipping with test Insteon and X10 addresses in them from the factory.

Thanks for the hands on findings. I know in the later ApplianceLinc. Smartlabs had a resistor capacitor snubber across the relay contacts. To protect the contacts. When the relay was off. There was a small current through the snubber that was on the output connector. When the relay was off.

Have you had a chance to tested one yet. Until I actually read of a users tests. We actually don't know if there is any small current on the output. If it has a snubber on the relay contacts. You will get some leakage current on the output. My newer ApplianceLincs are worse than the old ones. Where they had removed the snubber. Due to them flaming out when the snubber shorted. I am no longer being a first production run tester. Let others sort it out before I commit to any new Insteon products.

If they have Local Control Sensing. Then there would be some small sensing current on the output. If they have a Snubber network across the relay contacts like the later ApplianceLincs do. That Snubber network also allows a small current to flow through the output when Off.

Have you tried the LED lights on your X10 Appliance Modules? If you did not do some of the Local Current modifications for old before CFL friendly model appliance modules. Good chance the LED lights will also glow on an X10 Appliance Module.

You may want to see what the Event Viewer in level 3 shows. Maybe even save it so you could post it here. I don't think beta 4.1.0 would have fixed anything related to the 2450 I/OLinc.

ISY99i or ISY994i controller? What revision firmware are you running?

You probably have power line issues with the problem outlet. What else is on that circuit? Is the LampLinc the older 2456D or the newer 2457D2 Dual Band? Is the PLM for the ISY99i on the same circuit as the computing equipment?

The 2876DB is an Icon {lower cost with less features than an Insteon model} Series Switch and it is not Dual Band. The 28 in the model number was the Icon Line. The D in the model number indicates Dimmer Type. I believe the B may indicate the LED color. As the Icons had an Amber or Green LED depending on when it was manufactured. Connecting the I/OLinc relay to a remote. Is one way some have had to control garage door openers. That have electronic type controls. It should work with a gate remote control also. Just set the I/OLincs relay to pulsed output so it does not stay On until commanded Off.

The I/OLinc's relay is rated at 5 amps at 30 volts. You may want to verify what current the device uses. Also the terminal block on the I/OLinc has fairly small connections and it looks like #18 is the largest that will fit.
