ISY Polisy - WOL and URL of ISY Web Page

It appears to me that the Wake on LAN feature of the ISY on Polisy may not be working - I had been using web page access to the ISY when VPNing into my home to wake up my PC so that I may use Remote Desktop.  I used to go to the IP address of the ISY and go to "Networking WOL" from the main page.  The ISY web page is currently accessible under the ISY Portal under tools->ISY Web Access, but should also be directly accessible at the IP address of the ISY-Polisy, but I don't know the URL.  Can someone tell me what the URL is for direct access to the ISY Web Page?  More importantly, can anyone confirm that the Wake on LAN feature is not working (because it is not working for me)?

OK - Thanks, that works - but - part 2 of the problem - the WOL from the ISY-Polisy is NOT working:  I have tried using it from the java Admin Console and the web page using the link above and via ISY Portal and none of them work - is this a possible bug?

EDIT: I don't know if this makes a difference, but I have a Ubiquiti UDM-Pro router and two ethernet switches (an 8-port 2.5gig switch and a 24-port gigabit switch) - the PCs are plugged into the 2.5g switch, the Polisy is plugged into the gigabit switch - both switches connect to the UDM-Pro - previously the ISY was plugged directly into the UDM-Pro - in my mind, the WOL packets should reach the PCs in either case, but I can try plugging the Polisy directly into the UDM-Pro tonight when I get home to see if that makes a difference

I just found this topic after I ran into the same issue and started some troubleshooting/research: WOL no longer working after migrating from an ISY to the Polisy. (Neither the migrated nor a freshly created command in the admin console - WOL tab worked.) @Michel Kohanim, could you please post here once you guys have implemented a fix? TIA!

@waffles,

Yes, definitely but, currently, low on the priority. Also, are there still any computers that work with WOL without authentication?

With kind regards,
Michel

Thanks @Michel Kohanim. It's not urgent for me. I already implemented a workaround where the ISY tells my Crestron controller to send this WOL command :-)

And in regards to your question.. yes, otherwise we would not have this thread :-) . In my case I use this WOL commmand to wake up a Synology NAS that's on my network every once in a blue moon.

I have never heard of or encountered WOL authentication at work or at home and I develop networking/voice products for a living - I have used the ISY WOL feature to wake up PCs and also to turn on LG TVs  - WOL should be extremely easy to fix/implement - I have written C code from scratch to generate WOL packets - it's VERY easy

Hi Michel, I am casting a vote for getting WOL working on IoP. I use it twice a night to wake a Win10 machine from hibernation to insure certain processes run when they should. I had a problem last night with them not working and was forced to enable the WOL programs on the ISY994. Right now, I am fully on IoP except for this program.

I never experienced an issue with authentication with the WIN 10 machine.

@Michel Kohanim Yes please!  This is the only way I can turn on my TV with the Polisy or ISY.

Count me as another one who uses WOL for two of my Windows PCs. One is Windows 10 and one WIndows 11, I've never had to authenticate. It worked fine on my ISY94i but discovered this thread after I migrated to ISY on Polisy this week.

Almost all smart TVs, receivers, BlueRay Players and Ethernet smart A/V devices accept WoL without authentication. The Packet is secure enough I guess. ISY994 had a place to insert security. I never had to use authentication on my 6 devices I used WoL/ISY with.

I have never needed WoL for a thermostat, mobile cell phone, or iPad yet but I would bet they accept it when needed also.

It's disappointing whenever UDI removes features and refers users to a non-existent Node server for replacement.  First IR, then WOL.  In my opinion, native support of features like IR and WOL in IoP would be way better than having to research and manage a 3rd party plugin that can be problematic.  I've been running several node servers for a couple of years and it seems that I always have to restart one or work around some kind of issue.

Nobody said it won't be free...yet. But I would have thought WoL would have been just transferred to polisy as a native piece of internal code. However, I have learned to trust UDI to do the "better thing" for ISY in the end. Having some sidetrack piece of code for the data stream, may be of some detriment to IoP's internal logic engine and better placed into a sideline stream monitor like a PG3 NS. My guess is that the majority of user never use it or even know what it does.

Now we need a SoL (sleep on LAN) function to turn things off.  I read in a few blogs now, about reversing the MAC address and sending it.  Yeah right. :)

I agree, however the problem at the moment is there is a shortage of node servers. and it's unclear who's picking up which and whether there will be an additional charge.

There's one node server in the store, that does a very very basic function, that should have  been built into the ISY from day one.  Under PG3 that node server is $20 (that personally, I won't be paying, I'll do without before paying that price for something so simple).
