Holy CRAP! Looking this up, it's a known issue for Spectrum DNS servers... Geesh. Time to change to a public DNS.
  2. JimTurner posted a topic in eisy
Was setting myself up for the upgrade to the latest on my eisy and issued an ssh tail to /var/log/messages and saw this: Sep 23 12:37:04 eisy ntpd[1545]: error resolving pool pool.ntp.org: Name does not resolve (8) If I hit the pool.ntp.org directly, it resolves to some luggage website. Is there a place to change the URL for updating the time? This seems to be buried somewhere that is not evident.
  3. Update on this issue for those who may be looking for this later: I THINK I found the issue. In the old Insteon Hub days and before I ended up with as many Insteon devices as I have now, I used a Range Extender 2992-222. It is supposed to just relay Insteon traffic, but after I unplugged this device my random ons have disappeared. (Watch, within 24 hours of this post something will turn on again... )
  4. Thanks. I'll see what happens when I try this.
  5. I had to add the 8080 port number (configured in the AC) to get this to work.
  6. I had an ISY994 and was able to trigger programs with this URL: http://<UserID>:<Password>@192.168.x.x/rest/programs/<ProgramID>/runThen The program ID is what is listed in the program summary tab in the Admin Console ("0001" or "000A", etc.) First time trying to test this with the EISY and it fails. My use case: I trap my UPS events in Windows (Power Restore, Dirty Power, etc.), hit a URL in the ISY that would shut off some sensitive equipment before the surges killed them - gotta love Central Texas power grid... Possible? Edit: Figured it out - but can't delete my post! :(
  7. Wondering how many have gone through the upgrade process. I am on FreeBSD 14.1 p6, and IOX 5.9.1. To get me to this point, I needed assistance from UD ticket meisters, so I am a little leery of hitting the "go" button. Let me know your experiences... ~jim
  8. Thanks. I found the files and cleared them (actually just renamed them in case...).
  9. Delete is grayed out...
  10. Anybody know where these values that show in the IOX finder are cached?
  11. So, I had 2 issues - the second one was self induced trying to solve the first. My PG3 was totally MIA, and in attempting to do a simple reboot, I started the upgrade unknowingly, and then the entire EISY was MIA from my network. ugh. Submitted a ticket and Michel assisted in getting me network access. I attached a monitor, keyboard and mouse directly to the EISY to do this. Once network connectivity was restored I was able to SSH into it. Lastly, Michel did a screen share and cleaned up the mess. Amongst other things, looks like I had logs that chewed up storage - not sure, as Michel was moving very fast. EISY is up, Zwave is up, PG3 is up, and all good. ~jim
  12. Hello: I have an EISY but have not done the latest massive upgrade just yet. My Polyglot installation seems to have disappeared, and 4 plugins that I am using no longer work. I get "Connection Refused" when I try to launch the PG3 webservice from the EISY. I've power cycled twice - the last time for 15 minutes. Polyglot still not available. HELP! ~jim
  13. Found it - thanks. I have so many devices, it was buried.
  14. My old ISY994i had a query program for the 3AM resync operation. The EISY doesn't expose the node to do that - or at least not that I have found. I get the Reboot clearing the issue reason. I'm going to install my new USB PLM tomorrow.
  15. I have no sensors like this. Just switches, plug in controllers and dimmers - mostly switches.
  16. I saw that - but never played with it. I am assuming that it only touches the one that I select...??? I haven't tried to control from Console. Good idea - cut the problem in half.
  17. I have the original 2413S (Rev 2.9 4716) and had purchased a backup (cause of where I live) 2413S (Rev 2.5 1619). I installed the backup when I installed the EISY. I also have a 2413U that I bought but never put in service.
  18. I picked one device for each issue - there are many. Device Issue1: Randomly coming on: 2477S (Front Porch) is a controller for 2663-22 (plug with porch art), and is in 3 scenes (AllOutsideLights; SunsetToBedtimelights, and GoodNight (the one I use to manually shut things off). The SunsetToBedtimelights scene is controlled by a program. (see below). Device Issue2: Losing sync with EISY: B2457D2 (plug in dimmer) is in 2 scenes: SunsetToBedtimelights and GoodNight
  19. They are all in a scene. I turn the scene off... No motion sensors in my setup. Plus they come on with a program that is based on Sunset and 10:00 PM (on and off respectively). I turn the scene off if I retire early.
  20. Yes, All Insteon dual band. Same issues in the ISY. It's about 8 ish (never counted) devices with the issue.
  21. Edit2: I have installed and synced my USB PLM. Took awhile to get things squared away. There was lots of mismatches between Device Link tables and IOX Link tables. I have one old PowerLine device that won't accept updates through the new PLM, but that's minor and a not very often used device. Now to monitor and see if this cleared my issues. Thanks to all for the suggestions and assistance! Edit: I have 30-40 insteon devices in this setup. My ISY994 did the same thing. I've been running EISY since mid 2024. Randomly I will find my outside lights on in the middle of the day. The EISY or UDMobile app does not know they are on. A reboot clears this. Additionally, the EISY will lose connection with devices. Sometimes, when I turn a scene off, not all devices are turned off - even though the UDMobile app things they are. Again, a reboot clears this. I have not been able to find a correlating event or sequence that may be the cause. Thoughts?
  22. I have a Harmony remote, and several devices that use the Harmony app to control my Home Entertainment setup. The core Harmony configuration is stored on the actual Harmony 'controller' not in the app on the phones or tablets. When I launch the app, it automatically pulls the latest config to the app and off I go. I can edit on any device and it stores the new config back to the Harmony. This would be a great addition to the UDMobile setup. Right now, I have 4 devices running UDMobile and have to go to each one to do a hand sync / hand add to favorites, etc. if I make a change to the setup. Suggestion is to store the Config on the Controller (EISY / Polisy), and pull down when UDMobile launches. I understand this is a significant architecture change but would be REALLY cool. My $0.02 after taxes.
  23. Static IP assignments are usually controlled by your router, not the device. I can 'reserve' IP 192.169.1.xxx for a certain device on my network, then set that device to use DHCP. If you hard code an IP in the device and don't reserve it, the DHCP server won't know about it and you could end up with IP Address conflicts. How you reserve it is a function of the router, and the methods are as unique as the router population.
  24. Got that - I know that much about zwave. My issue was adding the lock previously removed from the ISY to the EISY. No nodes were created - so no control.
  25. I moved everything to the EISY. Had to reintroduce ZWave (now on both controllers), and cleaned out the ISY Completely EXCEPT as noted. 1 ZWave device (with 2 nodes), and the four programs.
