houselinc had double-tap, how does ISY do it?
Hello again someguy, In the Program, please use Control instead of Status for the condition. And, in the control, use Fast On/Off (means double tap). With kind regards, Michel

AT&T doesn't show up in notification settings
Hello someguy, Apologies for the inconvenience. You can always use Regular email and put your phone-number@att.sms.address. The notifications are handled in programs only: you have to tell when you want to be notified. With kind regards, Michel

Crestron integration
Hello Dave, Using our Web Services SDK makes it very easy to integrate with any other system. We have not yet had any developers requesting integration with Crestron most probably because of the exorbitant costs. With kind regards, Michel

Group Numbers
Hello jamesx0, Yes, you can use the ELK Export function (in configuration) to view the group numbers. As far as duplicate groups, please note that you will have duplicate groups if there are different button numbers. Yes and no: we had plans then we abandoned them simply because manually changing links causes ISY to be out of synch with the configuration. We might revisit if there's an overwhelming reason to do as such. With kind regards, Michel

Release 2.6.8 is now available
Hello Mohansen, Please do be kind enough to upgrade to 2.6.5 first and then to 2.6.8. The reason you are getting request failed is probably due to the fact that you are adding a switch that does not respond to ID Req. Please try choosing the device type from the drop down and retry. With kind regards, Michel

Admin Console no longer prompts for username and password
Hello RickyK53, All you have to do is to make sure all statements within the loop are below the Repeat statement. You can use Move Line Up/Down to achieve this. This said, however, you cannot have anything follow after the Repeat block: they are all included in the block. With kind regards, Michel

Maybe the dumbest question ever
Hi Drew, If you had a power failure, then in all likehood your PLM and/or some of your devices may have gone bad: 1. Can you query all your devices? 2. Can you turn on/off all your devices from within ISY? If you are not getting status changes back from your devices, you might want to try File->Restore Modem (PLM). Make sure you do NOT use File->Remove Modem. With kind regards, Michel

How To: Rotate through scenes via a single KPL button.

ghost program
Hi Josh, Thanks so very much for the update. Noting: I have to conclude that either this device (0D.15.18) is sending an Off command by itself or someone is actually turning it off. The reason is that had this been originated from ISY, first you would've received an ACK (02 62 ...). Now, to rule out the switch itself, would you be kind enough to remove this switch (just pull out the set button and leave it out) and redo the experiment? With kind regards, Michel

HOW TO: Garage door control using the ISY and an EZIO2x4
Hello AnthemAVM, Yes, this is a known issue that we are trying to resolve: The newer PLMs and thus the newer EZIO devices have their database start at a different address. I am hoping that we'll find a workaround within 2 weeks to a month. With kind regards, Michel

Power outage - now flashing red Error LED
Hi groovejumper, Apologies for a tardy reply. It seems that the spike has corrupted the file system. I do hope that you have a backup of your last good configuration. What I suggest: 1. Connect to your ISY using the provided serial cable and Hyperterminal (http://www.universal-devices.com/mwiki/ ... tart_Guide) 2. Login and issue FS 3. If this does not take care of the blinking light, please let us know (support@universal-devices.com) and we'll send you a replacement unit immediately If (3) works, then please do the following: 1. Go to http://www.universal-devices.com/99i 2. Use Help->Manually Upgrade My Lighting and reinstall 2.6.7 3. Restore your last backup Again, apologies for the inconvenience. With kind regards, Michel

ghost program
Hi Josh, Let me explain these events and then please tell me which device is turning off: --> someone physically pressed button 1 0D.15.18 2008/11/06 15:00:48 : [iNST-SRX ] 02 50 0D.15.18 00.00.01 CB 11 00 LTONRR (00) --> ISY sent an On to scene 1D (29) ... you can use ELK Export file (under configuration) to figure out the name of the scene for 1D 2008/11/06 15:00:49 : [iNST-ACK ] 02 62 00.00.1D CF 11 FF 06 LTONRR (FF) -->ISY told 0D.15.18 to turn on 2008/11/06 15:00:49 : [iNST-SRX ] 02 50 0D.15.18 0D.FC.49 46 11 01 LTONRR (01) -->Someone physically turned off 0D.15.18 2008/11/06 15:26:42 : [iNST-SRX ] 02 50 0D.15.18 00.00.01 C7 13 00 LTOFFRR(00) -->ISY turned of scene 1D (29) 2008/11/06 15:26:43 : [iNST-ACK ] 02 62 00.00.1D CF 13 00 06 LTOFFRR(00) -->ISY turned of scene 2A (42) 2008/11/06 15:26:45 : [iNST-ACK ] 02 62 00.00.2A CF 13 00 06 LTOFFRR(00) Next steps: - Make sure 0D.15.18 is not intermittent. I suggest factory resetting it and then do a restore on it. - Go to programs, and do a search for scene 42 and 29 (you have to find their name). The programs that turn on/off those scenes are probably being triggered by 0D.15.18 With kind regards, Michel

ghost program
Hello Josh, Thanks so very much and, yes, it does help: I do not see any programs being run. This sounds very much like ELK; do you have an ELK integrated with your system? With kind regards, Michel There are no timerlincs or keypad timer lincs anywhere in the network. The only intelligent controller is the ISY99-Pro. I couldn't tell if the entries above are from ISY programs or not. Also, I believe the program I wrote originally left the lights on for a period, then dimmed them as a warning they were about to go off, then turned them off. Don't know if that will help make more sense of the above or not. Let me know if this helps. Thanks, Josh

ISY supported alternatives to wireless W800/DS10A's?
Hello upstatemike, I think the Action part depends on YOU and the catcher-program at the PC end. But, apart from that, yes; that's precisely what we have envisioned. Our Serial Expander solution has gone through very many iterations and it's getting more and more refined (with some early prototypes). Hopefully, we'll have something soon. With kind regards, Michel Will this have an option to echo the log out the serial port in real time so that other devices can trigger things off of the status changes tracked by the ISY? Will there be an option to construct custom ascii out strings sent from programs? For example: will I be able to have a program trigger on a dimming level cahnge of a switch and send an ascii string out to a TTS program on a PC that will speak the new dim level? Code: Living Room Lamp Level If Status 'Living Room Lamp' is changed Then Serial Out "speak.exe The Living Room Lamp is now set to %'Living Room Lamp Status' percent" Else - No Actions - (To add one, press 'Action') Where speak.exe is some TTS program on a PC and %Living Room Lamp Status is a variable that holds the current state of device Living Room Lamp.

ISY supported alternatives to wireless W800/DS10A's?
Hi all, We do not currently have the resources to incorporate protocol specific hardware in ISY. Our solution will be completely network based and we would probably have to poll the device in some short intervals. 17 more!!!! With kind regards, Michel

ghost program
Hi Josh, Apologies for the inconvenience. Would you be kind enough to repeat the experiment and this time choose Level 2 for your event viewer. We need to know whether or not you are getting trigger events (ISY programs) or not. Also, do you happen to have a TimerLinc or a KeypadLinc Timer? With kind regards, Michel The setup is a switchlinc and lamplinc connected as a scene and controlled also via 2 keypad lincs. With no buttons being pushed an off command is still issued 25 minutes later. No program is visible in the program details or summary table. Any advice on where to go next? Do I need to restore the ISY or the PLM? Thanks, Josh

ISY supported alternatives to wireless W800/DS10A's?
Hi Tim, We are working on a network interface solution whereby you can receive events (poll) networked devices. We have actually implemented and are testing integration with WeatherBug and Brultech electricity meter. So, as before, the main question is ROI (return on our investment). i.e. if we are going to sell 5 or 10, then it will not be worth it for us to support it. With kind regards, Michel

How do I upgrade the firmware?
Hello Mr. Fox, Apologies for the inconvenience. The official release is 1.0.0. Release 2.6.5 is the only completely stable beta release which you can use (http://forum.universal-devices.com/viewforum.php?f=25) but you have to install it manually since this is not an official release (the instructions are in the post). Automatic Upgrade is ONLY available when we have an official release (2.7) which we hope to have out before the end of the year. With kind regards, Michel

Integrate Smartlinc and ISY 99?
Hi Paul, yes, you are right! ISY's interface is pure HTML and not as nice. With kind regards, Michel Michael, that is an easy question. My iPhone is a much better remote control than the remote control products that are sold by SmartHome! Tonight I will check my ISY via my iPhone and see what it looks like. Paul

Integrate Smartlinc and ISY 99?
Hi Paul, The main question is why would you want to keep both. Theoretically, you can keep both but, unfortunately, the new memory map has changed on the new INSTEON PLMs and thus you might have some problems with link management just like the EZIO devices. With kind regards, Michel
