Insteon Devices - Cannot Communicate With...
I guess I should have been clearer in my explanation. Agreed that devices on the same leg will blink red but in order to properly couple the powerline legs you also need devices that blink green. I was also taking into consideration that some of the older Insteon PLMs and older Insteon devices were single band which wouldn't provide the RF coupling.

Insteon Devices - Cannot Communicate With...
@IndyMike The range extender is just an example. Any newer dual band device will suffice. The incoming powerline to a home is divided into two 120v legs. To insure that the insteon mesh signal is able to reach both legs, the legs should be bridged using dual (RF) band devices. A 4 tap test is able to verify that the legs are bridged via the green flashing leds..

If the device is flashing red then the powerline is not properly bridged. Take a look at the attached file 4 Tap test.pdf

Based on their firmware not all devices respond to the 4 tap test. Try the test from other, and newer, dual band devices.

Are you able to open the admin console? If so, post a screenshot Do you have windows firewall software running?

Garage door opens unexpectedly
@GSpitale01 Take a look at your event log. Do you see a command to open the door, if so look at the commands above it to see if there's a device that triggered just before the door opened. If you don't see a command to open the door when the door was opened then it's most likely a spurious command coming from the PLM not the controller. In that case it could be noise on the powerline that's triggering the PLM. It could also be the garage door motor/controller. I have mine plugged into a filterlinc.

@GSpitale01 The PLM firmware cannot be updated. Take a look at this link: INSTEON Random All On Events - Universal Devices, Inc. Wiki (universal-devices.com)

Insteon Devices - Cannot Communicate With...
Here's the guidlines for replacing the PLM. It was written for the ISY994 but is basically the same for the Polisy and EISY Replace PLM.pdf

Insteon Devices - Cannot Communicate With...
In addition to what @paulbates suggested, have you recently added any new electronic devices to your home, as some devices can create noise on the powerline which can intefere with the Insteon signals.

Brand new Polisy, don't want to brick it
Probably best to submit a support ticket to see if the bios needs updating / replacing

Red blinking error light after storm. ISY OFFLINE
The ISY supports up to 32GB, Buy a high quality card with a high speed rating, V10 .

Red blinking error light after storm. ISY OFFLINE
Remove power from the ISY and PLM for a few minutes then power it up the PLM, wait about 15 seconds then power up the ISY. If the error light is still blinking red then the next step would be to replace the SD card. ISY-99i/ISY-26 INSTEON:Replacing/Formatting an SD Card - Universal Devices, Inc. Programs on Eisy not working
What is your EISY firmware and UI versions Did you download the launcher as mentioned in my previous post? Exactly what is not working in your programs, can you give more detail

Red blinking error light after storm. ISY OFFLINE
It's possible the thunderdstorm caused a voltage surge that did some damage. If the green led on the PLM is not lit, then most likely the internal power supply in the PLM has failed. For now, don't focus on the network jack leds It sounds like your SD card may have also failed. Remove power from the ISY, then remove the SD card and clean the contacts with a soft eraser and re-insert it. After the ISY boots up, are you able to access the ISY from the admin console? If so, can you see your devices and programs?

Red blinking error light after storm. ISY OFFLINE
Front Panel LEDs/Lights Boot up sequence: Power, RX&TX, momentary blink of Memory/RX and TX, and then Power only Only Power Light Is On: Most probably power supply related. You can try any power supply that outputs anywhere between 5 volt and 30 volts, center positive, 2mm barrel connector Error light and Memory light blinking simultaneously: ISY is not able to get on the network. Please ensure: The Network jack on the back of ISY is connected to your router The lights on the Network jack have one steady on and the other one blinking. If not, check cable and connectivity to the router Your router provides DHCP There are no other devices on the network with the same IP address (IP Conflict) If you have configured your ISY to use DHCP, then you will have to search your network for devices that might be in the same DHCP range as your router is providing If you have configured your ISY with a static IP address, and as long as you have a good backup, you can Factory Reset your ISY and then restore a good backup (File | Restore ISY). Once prompted to change the network settings, choose No Only Error light blinking: ISY cannot communicate with the SD Card. Please ensure: The micro SD Card (on the front) is seated properly. Unplug ISY, remove the rubber cap, using a sharp object, push the micro SD Card in so that it pops out. Push it back in so it clicks in. Apply power to ISY If reseating the micro SD Card does not work, you probably have a defective SD Card. Please consult Replacing/Formatting SD Card

Programs on Eisy not working
You shouldn't need to delete any programs, however you may need to tweak a few. Clear your java cache, be sure to check all 3 boxes, then download the IoX Launcher https://isy.universal-devices.com/start.jnlp If this doesn't resolve your issue, then give a more detailed explaination of what isn't working.

Hidden Door Sensor Battery Life?
@gweempose Unfortunately Insteon doesn't provide release notes for their firmware and hardware updates so it difficult to say what improvements were made in the later versions. The short battery life you're experiencing is not normal. If a factory reset doesn't resolve your issue then you can always try buying a sensor directly from Insteon which will have the lastest firmware and hardware versions.

Problem with scenes & UD Mobile
@Javi In a scene I have a lampllnc dimmer (controller) and a KPL button. If I turn off the dimmer from ud mobile the KPL button, and the scene, don't turn off, but if I turn off the dimmer from the admin console then the KPL button, and the scene, turn off. Shouldn't ud mobile turn off the scene, including the kpl button, if a device (controller) in the scene is turned off?

Hidden Door Sensor Battery Life?
The firmware version shows up in the device window in the admin console. the current firmware version is v.47 Current hardware version is v1.6 . Your sensors were manufactured in 2014 and 2015. The versions now shipping were made in 2019.

Problem with scenes & UD Mobile
I noticed that when I turn a device, that's a controller in a scene, on or off not all of the devices in that scene respond accordingly. If I turn the device on or off from the admin console all the devices in the scene properly respond.

Hidden Door Sensor Battery Life?
If you bought them off Ebay there's a very good chance they're used, so it's best to factory reset them. After the reset do a restore device which will rewrite the link tables stored in your controller to the device(s). What is the 4 diget date code, hardware and firmware verson of the sensor(s) The factory reset instructions are attached Factory reset.pdf

Hidden Door Sensor Battery Life?
@gweempose I also get at least 6 months, usually longer. Check your sensor options to make sure the sensor isn't reporting heartbeat or orther data more than it should. You may want to try factory resetting the sensor(s) Did you buy them direct from Insteon?
