Migration from ISY, no devices only programs
@oamber The 5.3.4 update will download as a folder, which you should place on your desktop and do not remove any files from it. When you select manually update from your ISY994 you should point to that folder. You should also do a factory reset on the eisy as you may have loaded incompatible data in your previous attempt to migrate.

Migration from ISY, no devices only programs
Did you update your ISY to the 5.3.4 firmware and UI prior to the migration, it's a must. You also need to update the eisy firmware If you're using your serial PLM did you connect it using the serial to USB conversion cables?

Aeotec Gen5 Home Energy Meter Include on eisy
Be sure to check, and save, the Z-wave support box in the admin console system tab. To add a Z-wave dsvice to the eisy, in the admin console click on z-wave | add a Z-wave device, then put your device into the linking (wakeup) mode by short pressing the action button. Once it's linked the device led will remain lit. The include (z-wave interview) process can take some time depending on the device.

Insteon Motion Sensor II
Other than the documentation that came with the MS, I haven't seen anything additional. Once the MS is linked the only options are what show up in the admin console. Basically, what you see is what you get.

@mdarcy If the above suggestions don't work, try putting one of the leak sensors in the linking mode, then do a restore device.

Unable to launch start.jnlp
@boonest In windows If you go to control panel, programs and features, do you see Java? If so, uninstall it. then download the 32 bit version from the Java site. I had a similar issue after updating Java, and the above resolved it.

Ethernet or Wifi?
They both work well, I prefer ethernet as being more stable and easier to implement.

SCE HAN Gateway device
The SCE HAN gateway requires Zigbee, you'll probably have to wait until UD implements Zigbee on the Zmatter card.

how important is Zwave S2 security and what happens during migration from 994i?
it really depends on what type of Zwave devices you have. For devices like door locks S2 security would be beneficial.

PLM replaced and ISY still down
@tony5isy If you are connecting the serial PLM (2413S) to the Polisy, then the cable you need to use is the one that shipped with the PLM. It has a, ethernet connector on one end that plugs into the PLM, the other end of the cable has a DB9 connector that plugs into the DB9 connector on the back of the Polisy. You'll also need to update your Polisy firmware to the latest version, 5.6.0. If your current firmware is 4.9.0 then you have an ISY994, not the EISY or the POLISY, and the cable you need to use to connect the PLM to the ISY994 was included with the ISY994. There are three hardware versions of the controller: ISY994 (discontinued) Polisy (discontinued, but still supported) Eisy (the current version of the controller)

Best upgrade order of operations / path; ISY 994i on v4.9.0 with Mobilinc
The older PLMs were prone to hardware failures, the current versions have updated firmware and hardware. If you're moving up to the EISY I would suggest buying a USB PLM from Insteon USB Modem Interface (PLM) – Insteon If you want to migrate your ISY to the EISY then you'll first need to upgrade your ISY firmware to 5.3.4

Try clearing out the Java cache, be sure to check all 3 boxes, and reinstall the IoX Launcher.

Support thread: IoX 5.6.0 Release
@macjeff I initially also got the Java error when I ran the Java updater. The solution was to uninstall Java, reboot the computer, and re-install Java. Now both Java and the admin console are working correctly.
-
Support thread: IoX 5.6.0 Release
There's a new Java update: Version 8 Update 371 (build 1.8.0_371-b11). You should update Java before updating to 5.6.0
-
Support thread: IoX 5.6.0 Release
Possibly because it has to update from the admin console.

Zwave OTA Update Options
Insteon has never offered firmware updates for any of their products.
-
Zwave OTA Update Options
A Z-wave device can only be linked to one controller at any one time. You would have to move the device to a controller that supports OTA then link it back to the EISY

ISY994i to Elsy Migration and Lessons Learned
@svetter If you want to use S2 Z-wave security you can find the required pin code on a sticker on the device you're trying to include. It's usually located under the QR code on the device. Not all z-wave devices support S2 security

Zwave OTA Update Options
UD plans to support OTA firmware updates for the EISY and POLISY in a future firmware release. In the meantime, you'll have to use a 3rd party application which may vary depending on the device manufacturer and requires that you first exclude the z-wave device from its current controller and include it into their controller.

ISY was down this morning blinking Red light every second or so
Only Error light blinking: ISY cannot communicate with the SD Card. Please ensure: The micro SD Card (on the front) is seated properly. Unplug ISY, remove the rubber cap, using a sharp object, push the micro SD Card in so that it pops out. Push it back in so it clicks in. Apply power to ISY If reseating the micro SD Card does not work, you probably have a defective SD Card. Please consult Replacing/Formatting SD Card
