Last Update: Aeotec rather quickly responded to my ticket. For reference as follows: If you really want to break down Z-Wave byte communication then you can find out the meanings from the developers specifications of Z-Wave here: https://www.silabs.com/documents/login/miscellaneous/SDS13781-Z-Wave-Application-Command-Class-Specification.pdf More specifically Power Level is a protocol command class specification which can be found here: https://www.silabs.com/documents/public/miscellaneous/SDS13784-Z-Wave-Network-Protocol-Command-Class-Specification.pdf 0x73 = Command Class Power Level 0x06 = The command issued, 0x06 = POWER LEVEL TEST NODE REPORT FROM = the Node ID (Repeater 1 and 2 which are ZW026 and ZW028 which are the identifications of each device). We have the value 0101000A Breakdown: Test NodeID = 01 (controller) Status of Operation = 01 (Success) Test Frame Byte 1 = 00 Test Frame Byte 2 = 0A Or in other words: 10 Test frames were sent directly by each Repeater to the controller (Node ID 01) and they were successful. This indicates the communication to the Repeaters and controller have good communication without failure.

Update: I followed the Aeotec Repeater 7 instructions for checking power levels and they do send a cryptic messages to the Polisy - so they are alive. Apparently these messages are an indication of power level quality. Repeater ZW026 Thu 01/20/2022 04:47:29 PM : [ZWAVE-RX ZW026_1] [73/06] CC=0x73 cmd=0x06 [0101000A] ACK,AUTO,EXPLORE From=0x1A Repeater ZW028 Thu 01/20/2022 04:49:31 PM : [ZWAVE-RX ZW028_1] [73/06] CC=0x73 cmd=0x06 [0101000A] ACK,AUTO,EXPLORE From=0x1C

@Michel Kohanim or anyone else... I had to recreate my Query All program for Polisy and it seems to work well for the Insteon and initially for my Z-Wave plugin switch modules. I get the usual exclamation mark when I unplug them. I use "initially" because the exclamation mark seems to appear/disappear intermittently on successive Query Alls. The Query All Program with an unplugged Aeotec Repeater does not seem to generate any warning at all when unplugged. When I check the Event Viewer a Query All program command does not query either of two Aeotec Repeaters I have. When I Query a Repeater device directly, I see the Z-Wave Controller sending the Query to the Repeater but no follow up messages are received. Is this expected behaviour? Thanks!

Interesting, I had a Zooz T&H sensor that worked perfectly except it reported temperature in F which complicates things here in Canada. Anyway I see a different string of messages for Tx when I query my switch. Are you on the latest firmware? It would be nice to have a guide to help decipher these cryptic messages.

@giomania I run several Python scripts (Alarm system, UPS monitor, etc) on a separate server and those scripts remotely set variables on the ISY. I have ISY Programs watching and reporting on those variables. I haven't explored using Polyglot for these scripts but I do use PG for weather reporting.

Odd, my test z-wave scene worked fine and my mixed Z-wave and Insteon also worked fine. Maybe you have interference or something that's causing a problem.
-
@oberkc It's hard to beat Insteon for sure.
-
@oberkc Fyi I'm testing Polisy and I see the same thing on my Zwave scene with only Zwave devices.. Do you also see Action as "default" too? The Scene seems to work fine.

The magic words If Then Else are your clue it should be a Program.

You're confirming what I'm seeing as well. My GE switch (240V 40 amp) is rock solid and zero lag. Leviton plugin dimmer module is good (no drops) but I see a 2 or 3 second lag when turning on/off from the Polisy. Zlink plugin dimmer module is ok (no drops) but I see a 2 or 3 second lag when turning on/off from the Polisy. No status update from the module to the controller.
-
@larryllix do you see any lag on the SiLab controller when used to turn on/off switches? I've tested Polisy with a Leviton and Zlink plugin switches paired with a Zooz dongle so far and lag is about 2 to 3 sec. The switches are in the same room and there are no hops. I'm comparing to an Insteon PLM/switch which is pretty much instantaneous. I'm wondering if this is just a z-wave thing I have to live with? Thanks.

Testing Z-Wave Dimmer on Polisy - Why slower than Insteon?
mmb replied to mmb's topic in Z-Wave - Series 700
Update: I tested on my ISY994 with a Z-Wave module and behaviour is identical to the Policy. -
Are you using wifi? My Launcher works when on Ethernet but when I switch to WiFi the Launcher goes blank but I can SSH and use the Polisy webapp. I also manually typed the information as well but get Not Found. It must be the latest update because it was working before.

@Michel Kohanim I have a ZLINK Plug-in Dimmer ZL-PD-100 that doesn't update the Ploisy controller at all on a manual button press. My Leviton plugin module is working fine in both directions (although a little laggy). I contacted the reseller and his testing indicated it was updating but on another type of controller. The module works fine when controlling from the Polisy to the module. He suggested I contact UDI for support. Is there further refinement to z-wave that may get this thing running or should I return it?

@brians let me know how the ZL-PD-100 dimmer tests for you. I still don't receive controller status updates on a manual button press. Unlike the Leviton which updates properly. Both have a still lag of about 3 seconds. -
Really @tazman? Not for me, I tried a manual update and nope. Update: Cleared the cache once again and it worked. All good, but not sure about the button.
-
@Techman I had the same error when I selected LAN in the Launcher. I'm not sure if you have a Cloud option but the Launcher worked fine with that option.
-
@Michel Kohanim just a data point I had the same mismatch error when selecting LAN in the Launcher. However, selecting Cloud in the Launcher and the Admin console launches properly.

Testing Z-Wave Dimmer on Polisy - Why slower than Insteon?
mmb replied to mmb's topic in Z-Wave - Series 700
@mjrush @lilyoyo1I had a Zooz 4-in-1 multisensor which was really nice but I couldn't make it stay on Celsius, it would keep flipping back the F - so I returned it. The reseller blamed the controller. Anyway, it had a motion sensor and it seemed to work flawlessly on Polisy. I had it trigger a scene to turn Insteon and Z-Wave plugin modules. Status was updating properly. It's interesting how some devices don't seem to work completely with Polisy. Maybe future code updates will address. And I'll try a Aeotec multisensor sometime in the future. -
Testing Z-Wave Dimmer on Polisy - Why slower than Insteon?

Thanks @brians, is the monitoring program look for Hail or something? I'll try it out if you have details. Yes an updated Polisy can use a Zooz USB Z-Wave dongle but I understand another dongle works as well but forgot the name. I use it in conjunction with a USB Insteon PLM. I understand the serial PLM will work too. -

@RB3 I have a ISY994 Z-Wave module that I've never installed. What is confusing is not understanding what I see in Polisy with Z-Wave as being normal or not. Based on comments, maybe I should install the module so I can compare behavior. -
Testing Z-Wave Dimmer on Polisy - Why slower than Insteon?
mmb replied to mmb's topic in Z-Wave - Series 700
@brians yes ISY with Z-Wave on Polisy. It works fine but a few annoying glitches still to be ironed out. I gather you are using an ISY994 for Z-Wave, so maybe the Polisy delays I'm seeing are issues in the beta code. A manual press of the Leviton module gives this: Thu 12/30/2021 09:24:38 AM : [ZWAVE-RX ] [010B00A800011602820100B278] REQ APPLICATION_COMMAND_HANDLER_BRIDGE Thu 12/30/2021 09:24:48 AM : [ Time] 09:24:48 2(0) But the Polisy doesn't do anything with it. The Zlink module doesn't seem to send anything - the Seller is checking for firmware updates because he says another module/controller he has is sending commands. 'What's involved in a Hail Program?
