Sunset of Java Admin Console is Premature

Featured Replies

Looks like we're moving out quickly to remove the Java Admin Console... That's great... But it's not feature complete yet. I have some Z-Wave locks and when using easy-ui, I can't set the user codes, I still need to use the Admin console... I can't be the only one in this situation... Maybe I'm just not smart enough to figure out how to do it in the new UI...

I would agree with you... But it seems that they've drawn a line in the sand at 12/15/2026 per here: https://www.universal-devices.com/bye-bye-admin-console-java/

So... Yea, I realize that "end of support" doesn't mean "end of use", but something tells me that they're going to be making changes that will eventually break the Admin Console.

I'd just like to see something formal that says they will commit to 100% feature parity before they pull the rug out. These things literally run our homes...

I'm trying to figure this phaseout - out. Am I understanding that in lieu of the AC you simply log into the eisy through the web address, in my case, 192.XXX.X.XXX? When I tried that I get an entirely new format. Is this what I need to learn? Thanks

Hi All,
We are very close to feature parity in eisy-ui. We have staged release planed for the next couple of weeks.
Currently in staging we added the ability to add all devices, awaiting a few bug fixes for beta release soon.

The our next planned release will add features such as Network Resources and a few other settings not included in todays beta release.

Is "Protocol Config" the thing that lets you modify devices via the web ui?

Yes, in the side menu will be Zwave/Zigbee/Insteon/Matter Protocol level settings (e.g. add device/ etc). the Nodes Context menu will now has a configuration option for the device level protocol settings.

User Codes was missed. Working on this today for the next release.

I do appreciate that we're given ample transition time. But it's very different and getting used to the new format will take time.

Do you have something in place to programmatically ensure you're not missing other things?

The Admin is not going away, it is just unsupported after that date. If you are using MacOS it will likely break at some point next year. Upon testing MacOS 28 we realized the Admin Console would no longer work. So we wanted to give ISY994 users as much time as possible to ensure they create backups or upgrade if desired.

With that said, we changed our upgrade process to include 3 versions production, beta, and staging. So we can provide quick fixes in staging if something was missed after December 15th. Also the firmware and eisy-ui are no longer coupled (the Admin Console was coupled) to the Firmware so we can provide fixes to the ui without a full firmware release. Today's beta will provide ~95% of the Admin Consoles features, The next release should cover ~99%.
