  1. Hello all, I am happy to announce the availability of our 4.0.3 Beta release! For a list of changes, please take a look at this post. IMPORTANT If you have not already done so, please upgrade your Java to the latest release (1.7.17) IMPORTANT We will no longer have any firmware updates for ISY99i Series Announcement . Know Issues - None Things to test: - All bug fixes especially I2CS group cleanup - GreenEye Monitor support *Please note that Safari does not support SSL session reuse and thus might take an exorbitant amount of time to communicate with ISY. As such, when using 2048 bit SSL, it's best not to use Safari. *For a discussion of variables, please look at our Program Variables Wiki. Instructions: 1. Please backup your ISY (File | Backup ISY). If you are backing up a 3.1.6 system, please note that the backups are corrupted. If you have a backup from prior releases, you should be OK 2. Please download the firmware for your platform - please do not unzip ISY 994i Series including Z-Wave Support ISY 994i Z & ZS Series (Zigbee) 3. Login to the Admin Console and choose Help | Manually Upgrade [the name of your system] 4. Choose the file saved in step 2 5. After the upgrade, ISY reboots. Please do ensure to clear your Java Cache 6. IMPORTANT Once upgrade is completed and ISY reboots, use any of the following methods to access your ISY's Admin Console: a. http://your.isy.ipaddress (or http://isy if you have Windows) - Java Applet b. http://your.isy.ip.address/admin.jnlp - Java application c. http://isy.universal-devices.com/99i/4.0.3 - Java Applet d. http://isy.universal-devices.com/99i/4.0.3/admin.jnlp - Java application Dashboard - http://isy.universal-devices.com/99i/4. ... board.jnlp 8. Please backup your system again Thanks and with kind regards, Michel
  2. blademan, Unfortunately the case for the scene is vague. What do you mean by "scene is activated"? Is it activated by ISY? Is it activated by one of the controllers in the scene? And, if so, what's the purpose of a state variable? In the case of the latter (i.e. activated by one of the controllers in the scene), you can always use regular ISY programs to either check for Control or Status for the controllers in the scene. In the case of former, we just have to have Control switched on/off/fast on/fast off for the scene. Regardless, I am pretty scared of opening up this discussion again since we never arrive at a conclusion that makes everyone happy. With kind regards, Michel
  3. Hi blueman2, Please send your request to sales@universal-devices.com and you'll be sent back instructions and answers to your questions. With kind regards, Michel
  4. Hi johnnyt, It's really normal for sockets not to close and, as such, I really wouldn't worry about them. If it makes you feel better, please clear your log, make sure you do not have event viewer running, and then send me your log after two days to support@universal-devices.com. With kind regards, Michel
  5. johnnyt, I guarantee you that those entries with IP address are because the debug level is above 2. Socket not active is just a warning. It basically means socket was not closed properly and ISY keeps it in a list and will eventually close and release resources. I would not worry about them UNLESS it's the SAME socket information repeated for more than 10 minutes. From my perspective, I really do not see any problems in the logs. They look pretty normal to me. Obviously, you are going to have a very little performance hit if you are having Event Viewer on level 3 but I really do not think these are the source of performance degradation of your system. With kind regards, Michel
  6. Hello doubleohwhatever, If you can create a feed that looks like WB format, it would be fantastic. Then we do not have to change any of the code. This said, I am afraid there are going to be licensing issues using WB format for something else. With kind regards, Michel
  7. Hi Ron, 1. More code memory 2. Expansion slot to install either Zigbee or Z-Wave With kind regards, Michel
  8. Hi Dan, I am so very sorry ... yes, indeed you can convert your ZS to Z. Please send your request to sales@universal-devices.com and we'll take care of it for you. With kind regards, Michel
  9. Hello Baja, You can send your diagram in PDF to support@universal-devices.com. The error log still shows many DNS errors. This is not normal. With kind regards, Michel
  10. Hi johnnyt, They are informational and diagnostic messages related to Event Viewer > 1. That's why closing the Admin Console fixes it. If you telnet to ISY, login, and type '?', you get the menu. CL allows you to configure the MAX log size the default for which is 3 MB right now. Please note that 3 MB is the size of the file in ISY and NOT what you save in your computer (which is larger) since Admin Console goes through all entries and makes a few things more human readable such as date/time. With kind regards, Michel
  11. Hello doubleohwhatever, Wunderground has exorbitant licensing costs to use their APIs. That's why we chose WeatherBug. With kind regards, Michel
  12. Hi bruinlax, Thanks so very much for the update and your interest. May I humbly ask what you are planning to do with it (it seems that you are not interested in INSTEON, etc.)? With kind regards, Michel
  13. Hi GeneInSoCal, This is great information. Thanks so very much for sharing it. With kind regards, Michel
  14. Hi gwarthur, Do you get status updates from your other INSTEON devices? If you do not see any events whatsoever, then I suspect that you may have too many links in your PLM. Can you please go to Tools | Diagnostics | Show PLM Links Table, click on the Start button, wait, and when completed, click on the Count button. How many links do you have? If more than 800, then you might want to try File | Restore Modem (PLM) ... this might help as long as you don't really have that very many links. With kind regards, Michel
  15. Hi bruinlax, Yes, for sure. In addition, ISY994i ZS has been fully tested and vetted by SCE and thus you will be eligible for the rebates. You might want to contact them and see if you qualify for the $50.00 rebate if and only if you have an INSTEON communicating thermostat in addition to ISY. Furthermore, once you get the unit, please do ensure you choose SCE as the provider so that you can get realtime pricing information as well. And, finally, please review Save Power Day program for additional rebates. Please send an email to sales@universal-devices.com for upgrading instructions. With kind regards, Michel
  16. Hi timster, It all depends on your KPL version and ISY firmware version. We know for a fact that backlight cannot be adjusted on older KPLs. And, there were a few beta releases where ISY had a problem adjusting them. So, please do make sure you are on an official ISY firmware release. Also, if your KPL is more than 3 years old, then and in all likelihood, backlight cannot be adjusted. With kind regards, Michel
  17. Hi gwarthur, It should work as is. Do you see any events in the event viewer? With kind regards, Michel
  18. Hi spensester, Do you have any other INSTEON devices and, if so, do they report their status? Or, when you query the thermostat, does the status get update on the Admin Console? With kind regards, Michel
  19. Hello bradhart82, I am so very sorry to hear. Please do be kind enough to try a different cable between the PLM and ISY, reboot ISY. If you get Safe Mode dialog when logging in, then - and quite unfortunately so - your PLM is defective. With kind regards, Michel

Hello icerabbit, You can hide any of the nodes in the default interface: http://wiki.universal-devices.com/index ... ser_Screen With kind regards, Michel
  21. Hi DT, No as we cannot reproduce it. Would you please submit a ticket so that we can login to your computer and see what's going on? With kind regards, Michel
  22. Hello wrj0, Noted and in addition to Z-Wave, we are expanding the framework to support these types of integration more readily/easily. With kind regards, Michel
  23. First of all, I have to thank LeeG again for great detective work. Secondly, we never remote in to any ISY unless the customer is present on the other end. With kind regards, Michel
  24. Hi Baja, Thank you. You have major network issues especially DNS. My recommendations: 1. Clear your Error Log 2. Reboot your router and let the unit run for a couple of more days 3. Please post back the Error Log If your ISY is connected through a switch, please try connecting directly to your router. With kind regards, Michel
  25. Jcoulter, Neither. It should work as before. Please do make sure you use the station id for you backyard station. With kind regards, Michel
