After a few minutes I can no longer connect to ISY
Michel Kohanim replied to ellesshoo's topic in ISY994
Hi ellesshoo, Do NOT do that as whatever is causing it will not go away on its own. Questions: 1. What's the firmware version? 2. Do you use HTTPS 3. Are you on a low bandwidth or heavily loaded network 4. Can you send your Error Log to support@universal-devices.com? With kind regards, Michel -
Hi Josh, 2.6.5 is so old that the only way to get it back to life is through a remote session. Please submit a ticket with your request and provide a few available time slots between 10:00 AM and 4:00 PM Pacific Time. You do need a Windows computer. With kind regards, Michel

Scenes and programs (although perhaps I've simpler path)
Michel Kohanim replied to kck's topic in ISY994
Hi Kevin, So far we agree! This is where everything falls apart. What does this mean and how is it different than what we already have? THANK YOU. It does mean a lot to us. Kevin -
Hi Josh, As far as I know, we are still waiting for PG&E personnel to call back with. Basically - and unlike all other utilities - PG&E required 32 byte install codes. So, we immediately implemented support for 32 byte install codes and just released it in 4.0.3 beta. With kind regards, Michel

Release 4.0.3 Beta Is Now Available
Michel Kohanim replied to Michel Kohanim's topic in Previous Releases
Hi Teken, Thanks so very much. You do need to get GEM's latest firmware update. We did that because of two reasons: 1. Ben told us that the primary packet format should be ISY (11) and secondary should be none 2. That's the only way we can identify a GEM device is really a GEM device and not ECM. We expect a PKT response which is what we get 3. I do not think it would be a good idea to change that andyf0, sorry to report that we cannot reproduce your on level issues. I suspect that for some reason MAC has decided not to clear Java cache properly. The only thing I can recommend is to reboot your MAC. With kind regards, Michel -
Scenes and programs (although perhaps I've simpler path)
Michel Kohanim replied to kck's topic in ISY994
Hi Kevin, Thanks you for clarification. We have been trying to avoid confusion simply because, historically, no one could agree on what a scene status meant. If all you require is scene activation by ISY, then that's definitely something we can entertain/implement as long as it's not going to include other things such as the status of the scene based or whether or not the scene was activated by something else other than ISY. With kind regards, Michel -

MAC users, Still cannot reproduce the FileChooser hang issue. andyf0, Will review and get back to you. Teken, First, you need to remove GEM from ISY: 1. Remove the nodes from the tree 2. Go to Configuration | Zigbee | Click on Diagnostics | Click on the record for GEM and then click on Remove GEM will try and reconnect at which point you should get 32 nodes. We are working with Brultech to see why values are so very much off. With kind regards, Michel -
Hi johnnyt, You and I both ... I very much wish to know what caused the crash. With kind regards, Michel

Release 4.0.3 Beta Is Now Available
Michel Kohanim replied to Michel Kohanim's topic in Previous Releases
Hi LeeG, Thanks so very much for the update and confirmation. From our perspective, that's normal on some of the older devices. Xathros, Thanks so very much for detailed explanation. We are running 10.7.5 and perhaps we should upgrade to 10.8.3 to see if that makes a difference. The only difference between your installation and ours is MAC's firmware version on which we cannot reproduce this issue at all. With kind regards, Michel -

Hi LeeG, Thanks so very much for the update. You can now set the number of cleanup commands that should be sent from device to device as well as device to PLM/ISY. The instructions were buried in "What's in 4.0.3" ... I do apologize: http://wiki.universal-devices.com/index ... ed_Options Thanks again and with kind regards, Michel -
Hello all, I am happy to announce the availability of our 4.0.3 Beta release! For a list of changes, please take a look at this post. IMPORTANT If you have not already done so, please upgrade your Java to the latest release (1.7.17) IMPORTANT We will no longer have any firmware updates for ISY99i Series Announcement . Know Issues - None Things to test: - All bug fixes especially I2CS group cleanup - GreenEye Monitor support *Please note that Safari does not support SSL session reuse and thus might take an exorbitant amount of time to communicate with ISY. As such, when using 2048 bit SSL, it's best not to use Safari. *For a discussion of variables, please look at our Program Variables Wiki. Instructions: 1. Please backup your ISY (File | Backup ISY). If you are backing up a 3.1.6 system, please note that the backups are corrupted. If you have a backup from prior releases, you should be OK 2. Please download the firmware for your platform - please do not unzip ISY 994i Series including Z-Wave Support ISY 994i Z & ZS Series (Zigbee) 3. Login to the Admin Console and choose Help | Manually Upgrade [the name of your system] 4. Choose the file saved in step 2 5. After the upgrade, ISY reboots. Please do ensure to clear your Java Cache 6. IMPORTANT Once upgrade is completed and ISY reboots, use any of the following methods to access your ISY's Admin Console: a. http://your.isy.ipaddress (or http://isy if you have Windows) - Java Applet b. http://your.isy.ip.address/admin.jnlp - Java application c. http://isy.universal-devices.com/99i/4.0.3 - Java Applet d. http://isy.universal-devices.com/99i/4.0.3/admin.jnlp - Java application Dashboard - http://isy.universal-devices.com/99i/4. ... board.jnlp 8. Please backup your system again Thanks and with kind regards, Michel

Scenes and programs (although perhaps I've simpler path)
Michel Kohanim replied to kck's topic in ISY994
blademan, Unfortunately the case for the scene is vague. What do you mean by "scene is activated"? Is it activated by ISY? Is it activated by one of the controllers in the scene? And, if so, what's the purpose of a state variable? In the case of the latter (i.e. activated by one of the controllers in the scene), you can always use regular ISY programs to either check for Control or Status for the controllers in the scene. In the case of former, we just have to have Control switched on/off/fast on/fast off for the scene. Regardless, I am pretty scared of opening up this discussion again since we never arrive at a conclusion that makes everyone happy. With kind regards, Michel -
Hi blueman2, Please send your request to sales@universal-devices.com and you'll be sent back instructions and answers to your questions. With kind regards, Michel

Hi johnnyt, It's really normal for sockets not to close and, as such, I really wouldn't worry about them. If it makes you feel better, please clear your log, make sure you do not have event viewer running, and then send me your log after two days to support@universal-devices.com. With kind regards, Michel
-
johnnyt, I guarantee you that those entries with IP address are because the debug level is above 2. Socket not active is just a warning. It basically means socket was not closed properly and ISY keeps it in a list and will eventually close and release resources. I would not worry about them UNLESS it's the SAME socket information repeated for more than 10 minutes. From my perspective, I really do not see any problems in the logs. They look pretty normal to me. Obviously, you are going to have a very little performance hit if you are having Event Viewer on level 3 but I really do not think these are the source of performance degradation of your system. With kind regards, Michel

Hello doubleohwhatever, If you can create a feed that looks like WB format, it would be fantastic. Then we do not have to change any of the code. This said, I am afraid there are going to be licensing issues using WB format for something else. With kind regards, Michel -
Hi Ron, 1. More code memory 2. Expansion slot to install either Zigbee or Z-Wave With kind regards, Michel

Hi Dan, I am so very sorry ... yes, indeed you can convert your ZS to Z. Please send your request to sales@universal-devices.com and we'll take care of it for you. With kind regards, Michel
-
Hello Baja, You can send your diagram in PDF to support@universal-devices.com. The error log still shows many DNS errors. This is not normal. With kind regards, Michel
-
Hi johnnyt, They are informational and diagnostic messages related to Event Viewer > 1. That's why closing the Admin Console fixes it. If you telnet to ISY, login, and type '?', you get the menu. CL allows you to configure the MAX log size the default for which is 3 MB right now. Please note that 3 MB is the size of the file in ISY and NOT what you save in your computer (which is larger) since Admin Console goes through all entries and makes a few things more human readable such as date/time. With kind regards, Michel

Hello doubleohwhatever, Wunderground has exorbitant licensing costs to use their APIs. That's why we chose WeatherBug. With kind regards, Michel -
Hi bruinlax, Thanks so very much for the update and your interest. May I humbly ask what you are planning to do with it (it seems that you are not interested in INSTEON, etc.)? With kind regards, Michel
