@upstatemike, I am so very sorry that you had to go through this ordeal. You are not alone ... With regard to using some other method, we had to use USPS because everyone complained about our shipping costs using UPS. For instance, and if we assume priority mail is like 3 day select, a $10.00 USPS charge would be $25.00 with UPS. The reason is that we are not setup to ship small packages. So, we don't get good rates for sending one or 20 units per day. At the end of the day, one gets one pays for. Perhaps we should have offered both UPS and USPS. With kind regards, Michel

Hello all, Thanks so very much for the lively and very important discussion. First, my personal philosophy: 1. One has to be remunerated for his/her work/toil 2. If one benefits from someone else's work, one has to remunerate that someone (unless refused) 3. Quality depends on 1 and 2 (and, of course, personal responsibility) 4. Business viability depends on ROI of 1, 2, and 3 ... case in point: the climate module. We paid for 1 and didn't get the quality and/or what we were promised. Cannot maintain it without major losses. So, as much as I hate it - and as per @oberkc - this module is going to go away Corollary: 1. @oberkc, paid or otherwise are not the only factors for a viability of a thing 2. Free stuff is great but does not make for a good business model (and we are a for-profit organization). And, of course, as some of you already know from personal interactions with me/UD, we are adamant about paying for any work we deem important and without any questions. Of course, some have refused remuneration and they know who they are Conclusion: 1. Our model will be closer to Google Play/App Store ... it's up to the developers to decide how much they want to charge for a nodeserver. We will take a cut 2. Nodeserver developers are vetted (we currently have over 70). This means that not everyone can become a node server developer. One has to be committed. If there's a complaint about a nodeserver, the developer/nodeserver will be warned and eventually removed if not resolved 3. For things that are important (such as getting rid of the climate module) we will pay ourselves and pay for its maintenance 4. Unlike other solutions, we are very strict about what's being installed on Polisy and, especially, from a security perspective The question is: when are we going to get there? We are working on it! Thanks again for the lively discussion and I do welcome your feedback. With kind regards, Michel

@brandwidth, Most probably it's because the backup's network settings are static and they do not match your existing network. When you are asked to choose network, make sure you choose DHCP. With kind regards, Michel

Hello everyone, The issue is that for some reason (either a GUI bug or user error), all network ports are disabled. Polisy should NOT allow all network interfaces to be disabled. This is something we are working on. In the meantime, we do have an update for udx which will make things a little more stable. If you can access Polisy via a browser, please click on System | Update Polisy and then reboot. If you have ssh access: sudo pkg update sudo pkg upgrade With kind regards, Michel

I love vi so much that I have its plugin in my Eclipse and VSCode! And, I am so used to it that, when I do email or the forum, I keep using vi keys and then sigh! With kind regards, Michel

@simplextech, There are two types of persistent sockets in ISY: RSub = Regular Sub = a Client subscribing to ISY (including websockets) PSub = Portal Sub = subscription from the portal Error 6 = the client that subscribed is no longer active. In the TCP vernacular, the socket is in CLOSE_WAIT state. This will eventually go away by itself. With kind regards, Michel

All, You don't have to download UDX; that's only for the geek batch. So, @larryllix, please do NOT do anything. And, if you have, please see below: For Geek batch: sudo service udx stop sudo pkg delete udx sudo pkg install udx sudo service udx start @MWareman, I responded to your ticket. With kind regards, Michel

@upstatemike, I am so very sorry … we have had so many cases of USPS taking Polisy on a whirlwind tour of the world: from here, to Canada, back to the post office here, back to Canada, and finally to its final destination. So, please do check the history using your tracking number. With kind regards, Michel
