Help with keypadlinc turning itself off.
Techman replied to Illusion's topic in New user? Having trouble? Start here
@Illusion If the new KPL that you have coming reacts the same then it's possible that the ISY link tables for that device somehow became corrupted. Your only option would be to delete it from the ISY and then add it back as a new device. This assumes that you previously did a "Replace device" -

@Illusion If you remove (delete) the KPL from the ISY any programs that are associated with the KPL will also have the KPL deleted from them. The programs will remain intact but it will show a null where the KPL was. You'll have to manually insert the KPL back into the programs. Before you do anything, take a look at the "Buttons Toggle Mode" and make sure it set to "Toggle" -
Zwave migration from the ISY to the Polisy is not in the immediate future. It's still in the development process. When you exclude a device you erase its link tables. A Zwave device can only be linked to one controller at any one time. When you excluded it and added it to the Polisy the ISY link tables got deleted and replaced by the Polisy Zwave controller link tables.

Help with keypadlinc turning itself off.

Being that it happened to 2 KPLs the only other possibility is that you may have a bad power connection going to the KPL. Possibly a bad or marginal neutral or hot lead to the KPL Take a look at the ISY error log and also reboot the ISY if you haven't already done that. What's the current version and date code of the current KPL? Have you recently added any new electronic devices to the same circuit that the KPL is on? -

Are you sure you did a factory reset - Pull out the set button, then push it in and hold it until the KPL beeps, continue holding it in until the beeping stops. If done correctly the load should then turn on. Then right click on the device and do a restore device. -

Is it possible that you have/had a program that's turning off the switch?. Run a Link table Diagnostic | Compare links to see if you have and mismatched links. -
Z-Wave: The good, the bad, and the ugly.
Techman replied to IPapp's topic in Z-Wave - Series 300/500
Most of the Aeotec Zwave devices have been tested and are compatible. See link below. Compatibility of Aeotec products with Z-Wave and Zigbee gateways The Zooz Zwave devices are also popular with forum members. Most of the device manufacturers are experiencing chip shortages so some of the devices may not be currently available. The Aeotec Zwave repeater 7 is both a repeater and signal amplifier. The ISY Zwave dongle has a limited range so it's best to install a repeater within about 15 feet of the ISY. Being that you're working with RF signals it's best to install the repeater in a location that is both free from obstructions and as high up as possible. If you don't have the 500 series dongle installed in your ISY it would be to your advantage to put one in as it has an increased range and overall better performance over the previous 300 series dongle. -
The 2 additional leads are not used. The Polisy requires 3 leads, input, output, and common

It works right out of the box, no need to modify the cable. One end goes to the 9 pin serial jack on the Polisy, the other end plugs into the PLM. To verify that it's working click on TOOLS | DIAGNOSTICS | PLM STATUS
-
The box with the PLM includes the serial cable. It's tucked away in the packing material. Most people overlook it as did I. Let me know if you found it.

The correct Polisy power supply is 12v 1.5 amps

@SirParadox For those Zwave devices that aren't working you should click on "Remove a Zwave Device" in the Zwave menu, then click on their set button. Don't use the delete option. You can then click on Add a Zwave device to re-install them. Make sure all your repeaters are installed and working before you add the Multisensors
-
Are the Zwave devices that you're having a problem with battery operated? Are your ISY firmware and UI both the same version. Click on Help | About to verify

I haven't had any experience with the 2448A7 but some members on the forum are using it. Yes, you would need to add a dual band device after you install the 2448A7. Ideally an Insteon plug in device would be ideal as its antenna is external and would provide the best coverage. If you don't have one then try to install your dual band device close to the Polisy to insure good RF communication.

Failing to add ZWave device: Zooz 4-in-1 Sensor ZSE40 700
Techman replied to Gunn's topic in Z-Wave - Series 300/500
The Zooz ZSE40 is compatible with the ISY. Excluding it before you Include it basically clears its memory as sometimes a device will contain data when the item was manufactured and tested.. If it's not updating then exclude it and start over. -
Here's some answers to your questions: The Polisy requires a PLM or the USB Controller if you intend to use Insteon devices. It supports the serial PLM, the USB PLM and the 2448A7 USB controller. All of these devices are currently out of stock. The Polisy firmware includes the ISY, the network module, and portal intergration. If you want to use Zwave with the Polisy you would need the Zooz Zwave 700 dongle which is available. There's an app for IOS and Alexa is supported via the UDI Portal account which requires a subscription. A 2 year subscription is included when you buy the Polisy. The Hub cannot be interfaced with the Polisy. If you're moving over from the Hub you would be starting a new installation. Your Insteon devices would need to be factory reset and then added to the Polisy. The hub cannot share Insteon devices with the Polisy, .Any programs you need would have to be created in the Polisy. Hope this answers most of your questions.

What does your ISY show for firmware and UI If you did everything correctly you shouldn't have to remove and re-add your Zwave devices.

Aeotec WallMote Quad (ZW130-A) & ISY994I
Techman replied to KNicklow's topic in New user? Having trouble? Start here
@KNicklow What version of the ISY Zwave dongle do you have? What's your current ISY firmware and UI? After you installed the WallMote do you see its nodes in your device tree? What exactly do you want the Wallmote to do? The Polisy is the upcoming replacement for the ISY994 however your current setup should work with the Wallmote. -
I just took a look at my Aeotec Smart Switch 7, it also doesn't have a scene or association option.

To back up Zwave right click on Zwave in the admin console then click on backup. That will write your Zwave configuration to the SD card. Be sure to follow the firmware update instructions exactly You should update to the latest release, 5.3.4 Note: you must have the 500 series Zwave installed to use 5.3.4 as it's not compatible with the 300 series dongle.

Thanks Chris. Now I'm also unable to reproduce the problem. I wonder if one of the recent Polisy package updates corrected the problem.
-
For now that's normal as the Polisy isn't able to read the Zooz firmware. That's something that may be corrected in a later Polisy firmware release

Thank you, I was able to log in. I was using polisy instead of admin When I try to look at the debug.log I get a permission denied. What am I missing?

I just installed Putty. When I try to input the password I'm having the same issue as I did with Windows SSH. I don't see the keyboard input and I get a password denied. I'm using a wireless bluetooth keyboard, I wonder if that could be an issue?
