  1. @oskrypuch I wouldn't worry about a "farkle", I'm sure that the back-up option will be added in the not to distant future. The Polisy Z-wave 700 dongle has an effective range of about 40 feet indoors, so it's best to add your hardwired Z-wave devices closest to the Polisy first then work out from there. Each hardwired Z-wave device will also act as a repeater. If you don't plan on having any Z-wave devices in close proximity to the Polisy then you could add a plug-in Z-wave range extender/repeater. Aeotec makes an excellent 700 series extender.
  2. @Javi Good to know. I'm on Android, thus no linking yet. I wasn't aware it was available on IOS.
  3. Being that Z-wave migration is not yet available when moving from the ISY to the Polisy there's no advantage in doing the ISY Z-wave backup as you'll be doing a fresh install on the Polisy. The Z-wave backup feature in the Polisy is not yet available. After you install your devices do a "generate topology" report which will create a record of your installed devices
  4. You need to add devices from the Admin Console. If you're moving from the Hub to the Polisy then you should do a factory reset on each device to ensure that no hub link tables remain in the device. After you do the factory reset write down the Insteon address for the device. You can then enter the device address into the Polisy and link the device from the Admin Console without having to press the set button on that device. Click on Link Management in the Admin Console | New Insteon device. Enter the device address xx.xx.xx and click OK. This will work for all hardwired devices. Battery operated devices will need to manually be put into the linking mode. It's best to start with devices closest to the Polisy to ensure good communications as you rebuild your Insteon network. Hopefully you have an Insteon PLM, it should also be factory reset before any linking.
  5. UDI has one Polisy in stock The Polisy does not support IR. I'm not aware of any plans to add IR to the Polisy but there may be some 3rd party options. Currently the Polisy supports Insteon and Z-wave. If you want Z-wave then also order the Zooz Z-wave 700 dongle from UDI
  6. If you haven't already, take a look at this link INSTEON: Troubleshooting Communications Errors - Universal Devices, Inc. Wiki (universal-devices.com) Also try the 4 tap test, per the link below
  7. Can you connect via the Admin Console? On the Polisy configuration page, make sure that "Insteon support" is checked, and then click "Save"
  8. I believe that if you want to transfer your Portal license from one device to another you have to have UD support make the change.
  9. You can find you ISY UUID under the HELP | ABOUT in the admin console
  10. The on/off module uses a relay to switch the load, the dimmer module uses a triac designed to work with resistive loads.
  11. No, currently your best bet would be to use a Zwave on/off switch
  12. @jkraus There are Zwave smart bulbs that will work with the ISY994 if you have the Zwave dongle add-on. Aeotec makes a Zwave nano dimmer: Smallest Z-Wave light dimmer switch • Aeotec
  13. From the Polisy spec sheet: Native support for 3G/4G modems gives you the ability to go off the grid. Literally! And, if you are one of those maximum-connectivity types, this model – Polisy PRO – comes standard with Dual Band WiFi and Bluetooth (4.0)
  14. The Polisy hardware has a faster processor and is an improvement over the ISY. You can migrate your Insteon programs and devices from the ISY to Polisy by doing a restore of your ISY backup to the Polisy. There're detailed instructions available online and in the UDI Wiki. The Polisy also supports the USB PLM in addition to the 2413S serial PLM It also supports the Zwave 700 protocol using a plug in Zwave module.
  15. @jkraus Take a look at the Aeotec Zwave 700 range extender. It's both a repeater and signal amplifier. It should be located within about 20 feet of your ISY/Polisy and should give you the coverage you need. Also keep in mind that each non-battery Zwave device also acts as a repeater. The repeater should be mounted as high up as possible in an area free of obstructions. Z-Wave repeater and range extender • Aeotec Range Extender 7 (ZW189)
  16. What's your ISY firmware and UI version? You most likely have the older 300 series dongle which is not compatible with the newer ISY firmware.
  17. @stillwater Here's a site worth checking out: - The Internet of Things is powered by Z-Wave. (z-wavealliance.org)
  18. @webminster Increasing the PLM retries increases traffic on the Insteon mesh network and could interfere with some of your Insteon traffic. It's possible that either both sides of your powerline are not bridged or that you have noise on the powerline. I would first focus on these two rather than increasing the retries.
  19. Right now your best source would be The Smartest house which is selling it for $28.95, not sure what the shipping would be. UD has them for $32.00. Just make sure you get the ZST10 700 and not the 500 You should also buy this adapter otherwise the dongle will block the other USB slot. 20. Clear your Jave Cache and applications then use this link for the ISY Launcher https://isy.universal-devices.com/start.jnlp On Big Sur, Admin Console is no longer a separate Window System Preference | General | Prefer Tabs - set it to "in full screen" (not "always") If you still have problems then try the fix below: Java applications are blocked by your security settings Close all your browsers Go to System Preferences | Java to get to Java Control Panel Click on Delete Files and make sure you check Applications Click on the Settings Button Make sure Keep temporary files on my computer is checked Click on the Security tab on the top Click on Restore Security Prompts and then click on Restore All button on the ensuing dialog Click on the Edit Site List Click on the Add button Enter https://isy.universal-devices.com followed by hitting the Return key on the keyboard. Accept the warning Click on the OK button
  21. Did you clear your java cache, including all applications, and then download a new version of the ISY LAUNCHER?
  22. Your errors appear to be related to your SD card. Power down the ISY, remove the SD card and clean the contacts with a soft eraser. If that doesn't resolve your issue, then you may have to replace the card 110012 SD DRIVE CONFIG FILE OPEN READ FAILED 110022 OPEN FILE FAILED
  23. I recently had an Insteon on/off module turn on without any user or program intervention. A few days later I experienced an all on event, where several of my older modules turned on. I traced the problem back to the (failing) on/off module. I tried a factory reset / restore but the ISY had difficulty communicating with the module. I replaced the module, and all my problems went away. The defective module was a hardware version 1.0 dated 2013
  24. I use their Multisensor 6 and Smart Switches. I've had only positive results with their devices and support. Their devices are end user firmware upgradeable which I think is a big plus. They're slowly upgrading their inventory to the series 7 chipset.
  25. Take a look at the Aeotec switch: Z-Wave light dimmer switch, illumino Dimmer Switch ‐ Aeotec If you have any questions their support team is very responsive.
