Try removing power from the Polisy. If that doesn't work you can manually add it to the finder using the ADD button in the finder,

Some things to check: Make sure your network has DHCP auto enabled Your ethernet cable must be plugged into the port closet to the DB9 connector
  3. Hello, I wanted to take a moment to wish everyone a very Happy Thanksgiving! I know I speak for everyone at Insteon when I say how thankful we are for all of the support we have received since we acquired the company back in June. From the kind words in handwritten notes to valuable constructive criticism and questions on Zoom webinars, we take it all to heart and appreciate it. As we head into this holiday season, we are not slowing down. We have more product on its way. We have more updates to the Director app coming soon. We will continue to keep this momentum going. So, again - thank you. Ken CEO Insteon Technologies Insteon Technologies 4790 Irvine Blvd. Suite 105-665, Irvine, CA 92620
  4. Actually, the Betamax format was superior to VHS. VHS won due to marketing and politics.
  5. Each Z-wave controller can support 232 devices. The Insteon protocol is superior to Z-wave on many fronts. Here's a Q & A for Z-wave Z-Wave FAQs (clarecontrols.com) Advanced Z-Wave Concepts (clarecontrols.com)
  6. Here's the list of led error messages
  7. @sdynak Thanks for posting this. It's well hidden on the Insteon site. I looked and couldn't find it.
  8. The price is $54.95 assuming you're in the U.S. Here's the link to the Insteon store. Dimmer Switch – Insteon

From Insteon Support "There is a new PLM in development like the one shown in the FCC database. The enclosure is a different design than the On/Off Modules. We expect that the new PLM to come to market in Q2-23" This could be the PLM that was previously approved in the FCC database as the 2234-222. Currently there are no further details
  10. Here's the response from Insteon Support regarding the PLMs that are due out in Q1 2023. Do they contain higher quality capacitors than the previous versions? Yes, these models will contain higher quality capacitors and fixes to the circuits that made the original capacitor fail. These changes were made in 2016-2018 and will continue in the newly-made units. Any improvement in the interface, link storage etc.? The USB version is unchanged. The Serial model had some updates in 2016 to be more robust with host interfaces
  11. The newer PLMs also have an updated/improved RS232 interface.
  12. @larryllix You should forward your picture and comments to Insteon support. I've also had the plastic enclosures break down on several plug-in modules

The blinking 2nd or 3rd light indicates one of the following. I would suggest sending another email to support Signature failure Old BIOS
  14. Try doing a "Synchronize Nodes" from the admin console Synchronizing ensures that the ISY and the Z-Wave network have the same device information for a node.
  15. The Zmatter board plugs into an internal slot in the Polisy and uses external antennas. For the eisy the same Zmatter board is mounted in an external enclosure with a USB cable that plugs into the back of the eisy
  16. The error message means that the PLM is unable to communicate with the device Verify that the address is 18.73.E2. The 8 can sometimes be confused with a B If the device address is correct, then try moving the lamplinc closer to the PLM
  17. Is your Java version 8 update 351
  18. The ISY 500 Zwave controller has an effective range of about 25 feet. Putting a repeater about 15 feet from the ISY should help. Being that the ISY Zwave antenna is inside the enclosure its range is somewhat diminished. You should mount the repeater as high up as possible and away from obstructions. You should also keep the ISY away from obstructions and other RF devices that could possibly interfere with the Zwave RF signal. Keep in mind that any Zwave 700 devices will communicate with the ISY as if they were 500 series devices.
  19. Clear your Jave cache and applications again. If you have any anti-virus / firewall software and/or windows defender, try disabling it before you run START.JNLP
  20. All your devices and programs will not be affected by the firmware change and will remain intact. Be sure to do a ISY backup and a Zwave backup before any firmware update as an insurance policy. Being that you're on the latest firmware version, the firmware update to the one that supports the PLM is just an academic exercise.
  21. Try connecting it, you have nothing to lose. But the downside is if you have a PLM failure the ISY won't know about it. What's your current ISY firmware version, if it's an older version you should update it.
  22. The difference in the firmware is that the firmware that's the Zwave only version doesn't look for a PLM and thus won't give you an error message when it can't find one. Be sure to make a an ISY backup before and after you add a PLM back to your system
  23. You can update packages by pressing the reset, on the front of the Polisy, button once. But first try removing power to see if that resolves the issue.
  24. Assuming your SD card was inserted, then it sounds like an ISY failure. You should have had blinking leds with no network and PLM cables attached
  25. Update your packages, then remove power from the ISY or Polisy. Power up, now is it there?
