Is a hub required or can it be linked directly to the EISY?
-
How do you get data outside of EISY (Export) to use in other ways?
mmb replied to glacier991's topic in IoX Program Support
I've run into this problem as well. I settled on Home Assistant to supplement my reporting needs. The ISY does all the hard work but HA has everything I need for presentation. Below is my Garage Temperature State Variable. The historical graphing is part of HA, just adding the variable in the Dashboard enables the feature. -
@DNewkirk the web link is still available in Portal under Select Tool / ISY Web Access.

@sjenkins Even better, maybe UDI can figure out a way to get tailscale (wireguard) working as a Nodeserver on their device. It's zero config, so no key management, no port forwarding. It's piece of cake to install and basically a login to get it going. I use it with HomeAssistant (addon) for remote access to manage my Insteon system in Scottsdale a 1000 miles from here. Saves buying Nabu Casa for cloud access. It can operate as an exit node to allow access to other devices as well.

Disappointing but understandable, EISY pricing is just beyond the reach of my family and friends - I got them into the original ISY. I'll make other arrangements for them when the time comes. They're all Insteon so their needs are straight forward.

Understood, I have four family and friends who I got into the ISY and they really enjoy the automations. Unfortunately the price tag is just too much for them to upgrade. Any thoughts about a discounted price for an EISY Lite? Maybe module purchases for Z-Wave and Zigbee? Anyway maybe someday our Canadian peso will improve.

The injury for us Canadians that sucked up the cost for the Polisy, is to be told its end of life in a couple of years, so buck up again. I guess there’s a price to be paid as an early adopter.

Portal is up and running for me at 3:12 MST.
-
Not able to login at 1/17/24 2:00 mountain time. UD Mobile stopped working.
-
Nothing for Canadians, EISY hurts at over $400. No wonder why I am not in a hurry to update anytime soon.
-
I'll answer my own question - No. Going back to Amazon.

Very helpful @DennisC thanks!

Hello @Javi I've been testing Favorites and it's a great feature. Is there any way to force an update of favorite variables so they all display current values in the Favorites screen? (upon initial visit, see first image) I have about five or more integer/state variables that I'd like to display in the Favorites screen but to get the current values I have to select each one and return. (updates upon selecting favorite, second image) Thanks! - - -

Does anyone know if this thermometer works with Polisy/EISY? SONOFF LCD Zigbee Temperature and Humidity Sensor SNZB-02D, Requires SONOFF ZigBee 3.0 Hub, for Remote Monitoring and Home Automation, Works with Alexa/Google Home @Michel Kohanim is there a supported device list so we can check first before asking? Also if a device isn't supported is there any expectation that it will be? Thanks! http://tinyurl.com/557sdxxa

Not sure about that dongle but I used the Zooz Z-Wave dongle on Polisy until finally purchasing the UDI ZMatter dongle.

I happened to have the AC open on the garage IOLinc but no luck. A B and C all behave the same.
-
Your Iolinc is behaving exactly like mine, same settings.

In a previous by Michel, he indicated they are reworking the Matter drivers because they were written for Linux, not BSD. Has this been resolved?
-
-
Anything in the Error Log?
-
I read the ZMatter libraries are written in Linux whereas UDI controllers are Unix. Kind of a wrinkle, but they are working through it...

My Dad is content with his ISY on 4.7.5. His setup is pretty small and his automation needs are pretty basic - about 10 different programs to make life easier. I'll leave it alone. My setup is much more complex - 30 or so programs, PG3 MQTT, REST python servers , Z-Wave, Zigbee. Polisy on 5.7 is great.

Thanks @RPerrault, in March 2012, Smarthome began shipping new devices using the i2cs protocol. In any event, seems like a lot of work to reset device protocols for little gain if everything is communicating properly.
-
@Brian H I found your comment regarding I1 protocol interesting. I checked communications for one of my switches which is a dual band 2477S V .42 and it's communicating using I1 protocol. Do you know what switch version started using the newer protocol? I'm not experiencing any communication problems.

Maybe shrink the Home screen icons a bit and a feature to select certain Favorites on the Home screen?
