  1. Are you using the ISY Launcher? Which firmware version are you on? When using the Launcher, there is a different version depending on your firmware version. There is also a different version for some mac users. You need to read the instructions carefully on the firmware version upgrade page. This sounds like a firewall issue to me. I don't think booting in safe mode means replacing the ISY controller. I think it reflects are problem with the plm. By chance, did you do a delete modem? Here are some additional troubleshooting steps: Admin Console Closes Automatically This is usually related to firewall software on your computer and especially with AVAST or AVG (including MAC). Two solutions: Use https (instead of http) to connect to your ISY Configure Your Firewall Software Admin Console Minimized/Invisible and Cannot be Restored This is usually related Admin Console state files not being updated properly and especially in case of multi monitors. All you need to do is to find the following files in Java temp directory (on Windows: c:\Users\[Username]\AppData\Local\Temp) and delete them. Or, you can simply search the computer for udi_*.* file patterns: udi_tree.state udi_frame.state udi_pgm.state udi_finder.state udi_launcher.state
  2. You could open a support ticket with UD and have them take a look, but it does sound like you are maxed out. The good news is updating to Pro is just a software module to purchase from the UD store. You could even ask the help desk if they would issue a refund if the upgrade doesn't correct the situation.
  3. Maybe you should open a support ticket with UD.
  4. Take a look at the troubleshooting steps in the link below using a Mac. https://wiki.universal-devices.com/index.php?title=Troubleshooting_Help When you get in, if you are still in safe mode you will probably need to replace your plm. The instructions are below. https://wiki.universal-devices.com/index.php?title=ISY-99i/ISY-26_INSTEON:File_Menu#Replace_Modem_.28PLM.29
  5. From the Wiki: Upgrading from 300 Series If you are upgrading from the 300 series, make sure you do: Z-Wave | Tools | Backup File | Backup ISY Follow the assembly instructions to swap the Z-Wave dongle with the 500 series version Upgrade to 5.2.0 or above Z-Wave | Restore The full instructions are below: https://wiki.universal-devices.com/index.php?title=Z-Wave:_Ordering/Assembly_Instructions
  7. Check Help - About, do you have a "Pro" unit. If not, you may have hit a built in limitation of the device.
  8. Check your router for that IP address.
  9. Have you checked your error log to see what else maybe going on? I have a Schlage zwave door lock and utilize an Aeotec repeater without an issue.
  10. Then I would suggest you follow the communications troubleshooting guide from here: https://wiki.universal-devices.com/index.php?title=INSTEON:_Troubleshooting_Communications_Errors As a last resort, you can submit a help ticket with UD.
  11. Factory resets might be different between devices, that's why I suggested you look in the device manual. Pulling the air gap and then pushing it in removes power, it is not a factory reset. Check the manual for the device in question.
  12. You can remove power by turning the circuit breaker off, disconnecting the wires, or if the device has an air gap (like switches, look in manual) slider you could use that. The idea is to start with a clean slate.
  13. Start with one device that you are having communication problems with. Here are the instructions for clearing Java: https://wiki.universal-devices.com/index.php?title=ISY-99i/ISY-26_INSTEON:Clearing_Your_Java_Cache You should be clearing Java cache before downloading and running the Launcher.
  14. I would suggest removing power from the device, waiting 5 minutes, restore power, factory reset device, and then restore device.
  15. Does your firmware match your UI? Make sure you are using the Launcher to access your ISY. If you are not, you can find it in the same post you found the firmware for your upgrade.
  16. Here is some troubleshooting guides from the Wiki, try going down the list: https://wiki.universal-devices.com/index.php?title=Troubleshooting_Help
  17. If you have Have correctly installed as @MrBillsuggested, then it's most likely a firewall issue. Look in the Wiki here: https://wiki.universal-devices.com/index.php?title=Main_Page#Admin_Console_Closes_Automatically
  18. @Jimbois currently working on an Elk Nodeserver. It is currently undergoing testing. I am not sure if he is ready to open it up to additional tester yet. What I can tell is if you have an Elk, it will be worth the wait.

Have you added any new electronics around that time frame? It wouldn't hurt to power down the ISY, factory reset the devices and try again. Use the add method that requires you to type in the Insteon ID.

What firmware version are you running? Make sure your firmware and UI match or better yet, be sure to use ISY Launcher.
  22. Yes, and you also get the Network Module included. The portal will also allow easier connection from apps to your ISY without having to port forward.
  23. You would need a subscription to the UD portal. Here is some information: https://wiki.universal-devices.com/index.php?title=ISY_Portal_Installation_Instructions
  24. You can also use one of the ISY apps (UD Mobile, Agave, Mobilinc) for lighting control instead of the Insteon apps. This will allow for more interaction when wanted with all ISY nodes.
