@SHM since you posted a new topic moved your other post into this. Since the other post is really a release post, but had turned into a support post it just makes sense to have your issue in its own topic and extending the other release post further.

@GSutherland moved your (new topic) post into your previous thread about this issue. If you're still having issues since first posting June 11th and none of the other suggestions have worked then you should follow the suggestion by @DennisC and open a support ticket with UD. https://www.universal-devices.com/my-tickets These forums are mostly user-to-user support. If other user suggestions haven't worked then it's time to contact the support team at Universal Devices to get to the bottom of this. Good luck!

@Blackbird isn't this already available to add custom icons? https://wiki.universal-devices.com/UD_Mobile#Download_Image_(URL)

@RCottam doesn’t look like this plugin is being supported any further. According to the posts recently:
-
@RDewit yeah, the ISY994 had wake-on-lan as part of the portal subscription. If you’ve been a user long enough it might have been in the old “networking module” purchase before that was rolled into the portal subscription. The Polisy and eisy stopped using the module add on method and used Node Servers (now called Plugins). Thus the reason to need to make the Wake-on-Lan plugin. You should be back in business once added and setup.

@smokegrub have you attempted to re-link the Alexa skill to make sure it’s the correct profile? You didn’t say if you have different Alexa accounts for the two properties. It sounds like a profile issue in the Alexa side.

Sometimes this is a corrupt file and causes the backup to fail. I would suggest opening a ticket with UD to get support as to how to fix this. If you're comfortable with SSH commands it might be simple, but don't want to send you down that path without UD Support giving you the information of what to look at and what to alter. https://www.universal-devices.com/my-tickets

@RDewit have you installed the Wake-on-Lan plugin from the PG3x store? Information about this plugin: https://github.com/BME-nodeservers/udi-wol-poly/blob/master/README.md I've never tried WOL, but seem to understand that the plugin is now needed to get things to work as it did with the ISY994. Please try it out. There is a forum specific area for WOL for assistance: https://forum.universal-devices.com/forum/377-wake-on-lan/

@adambuild more than likely you don’t access admin console very often. This was an issue several months ago and is corrected by clearing out Java cache (checking all three boxes) then downloading a NEW start.jnlp from Universal’s site (clicking MY ISY on the homepage). Here is one post about this:
-
@smokegrub Not sure how to help. I'd suggest removing from the portal Alexa connection and try adding again. Do you have 2 different Alexa accounts (one for each location)? Alexa should alert you to new devices found as soon as you add them and close the window in the isy portal side. I know that's what happened recently when I added a device. Make sure that on the Wolf Creek account that your preferred ISY matches the UUID for that location. Since you said you had two portal accounts it should, but that's one area I would check to confirm you're connecting the correct ISY with your Alexa connection account. I don't expect anything has changed on the UD side of how things are added/connected. However, the same cannot be said for the Amazon/Echo side (that always seems to be changing and causing issues randomly). It could be as simple as removing them from the spoken list and adding them back. That's what I would try first.

@eduardo_garcia While the forums are monitored for most active issues something like this might be better asked directly with Universal Devices via their "Contact Us" method on their website: https://www.universal-devices.com/contact-us/

Support thread for: PG3x v3.2.27 (June 11th, 2024)
Geddy replied to bmercier's topic in Polyglot v3 (PG3x)
@Mecheng70 I'm not sure that updating from the portal has been suggested lately. As far as I know there hasn't been a way to only update one portion of the system. Update instructions/process: -
@armymutt okay...removing and re-installing could have caused more problems than it was worth. Hopefully you had admin console closed while you did that. It's possible this damaged any programs you had for your hue devices. Check those once you get things fixed. When you're working on it again try restarting the plugin. Make sure the node names show in the PG3x UI. Then open Admin Console and see if Hue is back. If you don't have any bulbs you should at least have the controller there and should be able to "re-discover bulbs".

@mdecou I agree with @Techman that I don't think the Zooz 800 is supported due to it being the 800 series z-wave controller, but I'm not 100% certain. You might want to open a support ticket to get that confirmed or not. However, I know the Zooz 700 was supported (at least I recall a lot of people reported using that in the Polisy time before Z-Matter was available). What firmware are you running on the Polisy? At one point connecting the USB hub also needed the "Z-Wave Support" checkbox checked or selector to "ON". I'm not sure if that's been replaced now that Z-Matter is available. Open admin console, click on "Configuration" tab. In the "System" area what do you have showing for "Z-Wave Support"? I'm on an eisy running IoX 5.8.3 and my options are dropdown with Auto, On, Off as options. I have a Z-Matter dongle attached and both my Zigbee and Z-Wave are "on". To check with UD about the 800 usability start a ticket here: https://www.universal-devices.com/my-tickets

TinyMCE window appearing when accessing the Portal.
Geddy replied to garybixler's topic in UD Portal
@garybixler do you happen to have TinyMCE installed on your computer? Seems to be a 3rd party app. Edit: I see what you’re talking about when visiting from an iPad. Might be something UD has done. -
Should be as easy as following the replace modem process in the wiki. https://wiki.universal-devices.com/ISY-99i/ISY-26_INSTEON:File_Menu#Replace_Modem_(PLM) Knowing that many have done this with the release of the eisy there have been a few posts of issues they faced. I would expect those that didn’t have issues just don’t post. Since you just replaced the PLM if you didn’t have issues then it should be the same process, but plugging in the USB PLM. As always UD is available for support if you run into issues. https://www.universal-devices.com/my-tickets/

ZWave Energy Monitor Plug for 220v Loads
Geddy replied to matapan's topic in Z-Wave - Series 300/500
@DennisC that's great! Sadly, I think @matapan is still using the ISY994 since this is posted in the ISY994 -> Z-Wave 300/500 area. (and they said "works with the ISY994") PS: @DennisC you just made me buy one to test on the dryer since the "cycle end alert" sound seems to have started to fail on our dryer. -
@armymutt having never attempted this I’m not 100% sure, but… With admin console (and UD mobile) CLOSED try a restart of the plugin in PG3x web UI. Once the plugin restarts see if the nodes changed. Since the Hue plugin is not recently updated it might not update the node names easily and they might need to be to be deleted from the plugin and restarted to bring them back in on the PG3x side. Once you confirm the node names changed in the plugin you can open admin console and it might update the nodes in admin console. Then be sure to also run a sync on UD Mobile to get the node changes synced there.

Try a Google site search. A post that long ago has been auto archived. The site search on the forum page doesn't find archived posts, but Google site search should. Might need to play around with the keywords you're looking for. Just so it's noted here...what Firmware area you using? Also make sure you confirm that the UI for admin console matches the firmware (help -> about).

I use the plugin with my eisy (so on PG3x) and have not had this issue. However, we don’t get that many power outages (thankfully). Perhaps the issue is more network related than IoX/PG3 related. From what I’ve seen commented in the past there is NOT a way to reboot after power loss. Some that want(ed) a way to reboot the eisy just had it on a WiFi plug and did a hard power cycle if they weren’t local. Kind of risky (IMO). I don’t use any motion sensors so can’t tell you if they would work without the hub or how the system handles them through the hub. But for lights the plugin works as expected without any issues. I must be lucky. Of course basing issues only on posts here is very slanted…most that don’t have issues really have no reason to post. So only the problems are (mostly) seen here.
-
Perhaps more details might be helpful. Log into PG3x and download the current log package for the plugin. Then change the plugin logging level to “debug” then restart the plugin and allow it to stabilize. Then download the log package. I’m sure the developer would want that to try to help diagnose. If this has been an ongoing issue it might be better to open a ticket with UD to see if they can troubleshoot with you and the developer and the underlying systems. https://www.universal-devices.com/my-tickets/
-
This might indicate network issues. From the wiki error page it means “HTTP_CLIENT_CONNECTION_TIMED_OUT” https://wiki.universal-devices.com/ISY-99i/ISY-26_INSTEON:Errors_And_Error_Messages Try opening a network resource and saving it (not making any changes) and see if you can press test for that one then. You might need to do that for all of them.

I agree with @DennisC, if you’re “a newb” then SSH would be my last attempt at doing this. is your eisy able to be close enough to be wired into your router rather than using WiFi? I would usually suggest a wired connection if at all possible (one less “unknown” to deal with if/when you have issues). UD Mobile is able to handle the WiFi (or wired) connection, but I’m not 100% it would connect without a WiFi password since 99.9% of networks should have passwords. If you have attempted to get it to connect with UD Mobile and it doesn’t work then you might consider opening a support ticket to see if there is a way to “force” it to connect to an unsecured WiFi network. https://www.universal-devices.com/my-tickets/

@andrew77 My first steps would be to check on the admin console and controlling devices. I would then review the program/summary tab to see if programs triggered when was their “last run” time and what is their “next run” time? Then, I would attempt to run the “if” or “then” of your programs. If you have issues when using admin console then check these trouble shooting tips from the wiki: https://wiki.universal-devices.com/Main_Page#INSTEON_2 If things work as expected with the admin console controlling devices and programs then it’s more than likely something with UD mobile and Echo.

@awysocki eventually “ZMatter” will include the ability to control matter devices. UD just hasn’t released the Matter ability yet. They’ve posted that it is still in the works, but no timeframe given for when it will release. Currently ZMatter can control Z-Wave and Zigbee devices.
