First, you need to do a Zwave back up from the admin console under the Zwave menu. Then you back up IoX and the Zwave back up is saved there.

Don't see anything that says backup under the Zwav menu????

What do you see on yours?

Definitely not like yours. I'm using Polisy with a   700 stick.  

The eisy and polisy only supports zwave backup when using the ud zwave/matter dongle.

I don't have the Backup/Restore options under Z-Wave either.  I have a Eisy and I'm currently using the Zooz 700 stick, but I have a ZMatter USB on the way.

Edit - And that's because it is only supported on the UD ZMatter USB.  Thanks, Techman.  DIdn't see that documented anywhere.

Apple sure seems to be taking their sweet time releasing the update. I keep refreshing but still not available. Has anyone seen it and I’m just blind?

Has anyone, anywhere successfully linked a Matter device yet? If so, what what is the device? How did you proceed?

I wonder if the Z-Wave backup is actually used during the update or is it just in case of a disaster.

My brother has a Zooz dongle.

It would suck to re-add all his Z-Wave devices.

The Zwave backup wouldn't be used during the update as the eisy/polisy OS and UDX (user defined extension) are the only items updated. The backup(s) are your insurance policy.

WOW! That was just too quick and easy! Everything seems to work, OS updated, and IOX updated as well. One more to go next week.

Wow!  I just discovered that the iOS version of UD Mobile also runs on an M-series Mac!  This is true of many iOS apps, but it has a disclaimer that says "Designed for iPad.  Not verified for MacOS."  Nonetheless, it is working surprisingly well, so far.

To find it for MacOS, open the App Store app and search for UD Mobile.  It won't display until you change from "Mac Apps" to "iPhone and iPad Apps."  Do that and download the app.

If you prefer, you can also use the UD Mobile app on your iPhone from the Mac via iPhone Mirroring.

Does anyone have the updated iOS UD Mobile??? Seems to be taking Apple forever to release the update.

There was an update to the beta a few days ago (I forget when it came out). Not sure if/when it will hit production release. I'm not sure the process to get the beta version now, but needs Testflight from Apple. There was a post elsewhere that I think had the process. I use the beta version so not keeping up when official releases are available. Reports (other posts on the forums) are that the beta version has the Matter option.

Then you will still be running. v4, similar to running MSDos.

Beta means all the 1000s of devices are not installed yet.

I have the updated android app. As a test, I tried adding my Hue bridge as a Matter device. I went into the "Smart Home" section of the Hue app to generate the Matter pairing code, which it gives as a numeric string. Then I went to a web site that allows you to generate QR codes from text, then tried scanning the resulting QR code with the UD Mobile app. It gives me an invalid code error for adding Matter devices. 

Was worth a try...

I have tried scanning two different devices (Nanoleaf bulb and Cync bulb) both factory fresh and after added to matter hub (google home android version generates QR codes to share).  No success so far.  

I have also read somewhere that there is a relationship to matter and IPv6 network addresses.  Not sure how this all works together or whether this is even relevant.

Matter is based on the IPV6 network stack. My understanding is that your internet router needs to provide local IPV6 addressing for Matter devices to work. Many ISPs and many home routers provide IPV6 addressing, IMO the lack of IPV6 is likely not the cause of problems we're seeing here.

My router shows that my eisy is assigned a public IPV6 address which means it should have a local one as well.

I've seen posts and comments that boarder routers can be IPV4 but not found concrete documentation on how that actually works.

IP Scanner Ultra shows only a private IPv6 address for my eisy, but LanScan shows both public and private IPv6 addresses.  Port scan through 12000 shows 22, 53, 1884, 3000, 8080, 8199, 8443, 8881, 8882, and 8883.

Matter uses ipv6 local addresses. No need to enable IPv6 on router.
