IoX 6.1.1 let's discuss it!

Featured Replies

That release announcement sure caught my attention! Let's discuss it, and indicate how our own upgrades went. I haven't taken the plunge yet myself. Looks like this is the version where eisy-ui becomes fully functional. The release notes raise several questions that come to mind:

  • It starts with "We're happy to announce the availability of OS14.4, IoX 6.1.1, UDX 5.0, and eisy-ui 1.2.0 for eisy (only)". Does this mean that the whole upgrade is for the eisy only, or just eisy-ui? Farther down it does mention that you need to be local to your eisy/Polisy, so I'm wondering if the Polisy is supporting this upgrade.

  • There is a link showing the supported Zwave and Zigbee dongles. The ZMatter dongle isn't listed, but I'm hoping that's just an omission. Similarly, is the Zooz 700 series dongle still supported?

I'm ready to do this, but don't want to be the first. Yeah, call me chicken but ask me why! 😁

Upgraded to the new release with no apparent problems. Logged into the EISY-UI without any problem. All Insteon, Z-Wave, and Zigbee, and PG3 nodes appear to be working. Successfully edited and saved one program using the EISY-UI.

Problem: Although clicking the Admin Console button downloads a new admin.jnlp file, I get an error that Admin Console v.6.0.4 is not compatible with IoX Firmware v6.1.1

@aeroRC did you delete files and apps from the java console first? that should clear up that problem.

I upgraded this morning. pretty much every program within the updated eisy-ui shows "Error loading data". However, the same programs appear to be fine within the AC. I have submitted a new ticket for guidance.

Rob

Rob, deleting the apps from the java console fixed the problem. Thanks for the tip!

I have not had any problems with seeing and editing my programs so far.

In testing UD Mobile, the Synchronization finishes with Insteon errors " with "...could not match CMD paramName: ______". The paramNames that could not be matched were: VAL-NAME, MAX-NAME, MIN-NAME, START-NAME, BRT-NAME, RR-NAME, ON-NAME, and OFF-NAME.

Upgraded from the Admin Console.

Admin Console logging in without issues. I did delete files and apps from java console before hand.

UI looks good. Programs are working correctly.

UD Mobile Sync is working without errors. All looks good there.

Automations between Eisy and Home Assistant are working as before... So far looking really good.

Did you upgrade via the admin console or from the EISYUI?

My EISYUI says I'm up to date for some reason.

Thanks!

Upgrade itself seemed to go smooth but after finishing and rebooting, my eISY UI customized Home Page is gone. Any way to get that back without re-creating it?

Anyone have opinion of how long this update is suppose to take, My UD Mobile still says Upgrade Status "Upgrade in Progress! Please Do not power off. " after Upgrade stared 2-1/2 hours ago using Addin console.

Instructions clearly state update from AC. The EISYUI upgrade path is not mentioned...

  1. Back up your Z-Wave network, if applicable (Z-Wave | Backup)

  2. Back up your IoX (File | Backup IoX)

  3. Back up your PG3

  4. Click Upgrade Packages in Admin Console | Configuration tab

Did you close the app and relaunch (forcing it to reconnect to the EISY)?

Yes, I selected [Upgrade Packages} from Admin Console/Configuration TAB

Did you close the app and relaunch (forcing it to reconnect to the EISY)? NO,

Thanks for the Info. Since the UD Mobile did not state "Initializing" my guess is the upgrade never started.

Not a great experience here.

Did the backups.
Ran "Update Packages" from the Configuration tab of the Admin Console.

Admin console and firmware seemed to update from 6.0,5 to 6.1.1 without issue, and it instructed be to reboot the system.
But...
eisy-ui is nowhere to be found.
PG3 interface report errors that it is not connected to the server.
my.isy.io says that my device (eisy R2) is not online.

oi...

After upgrading, the Synchronization with UD Mobile (iOS) produces these errors. However, all the Insteon nodes show up and appear to be fully functional.

Not great for me either. Admin Console appeared to be locked up. Waited a little over an hour. Checked the monitor connected to EISY and nothing appeared to be happening so I restarted it. Everything came back up and I can control things from the admin console, but the EISY-UI doesn't work and the ISY portal shows me offline.

Upgraded earlier and now have no access via eisy.local or admin console.

Ticket submitted.

Could someone please expand on this requirment for the upgrade ?

"remote from your eisy > means not on the same LAN segment or physically not in front of you on the desk connected to a monitor ?

  • Do not attempt the upgrade if you are remote from your eisy/polisy and/or using ISY Portal

Basically, don't do this from any type of remote access. Do the upgrade from Admin Console, on a computer that's in the same physical location and on the local network, such that you can restart the eisy by power cycling if necessary. This avoids any issues that could be dependant on remote access authentication, etc.
