I updated. The update proceeded without issue and didn't take too long, maybe 15 minutes. I got a message requesting a reboot and I went ahead and did that. The system booted up and I was able to access both eisy ui and the admin console.

@Javi

Bug?

I tried to create a random test program in Eisy, but it failed. I selected an insteon on/off module status as the if and an insteon dimmer as the then clause. Eisy UI fails to create the if statement. I got the drop downs and set the parameters and it gives an invalid error after saving. It shows up in the admin console with a yellow icon. I then created the same if clause in the admin console, and it did work. This is my one and only attempt at creating a program in eisy ui.

Here is a screenshot. The second line of the if clause is what I created in the admin console. The first was the same line created in eisy-ui which reverted to this error.

Before I hit save. The line after the "and" is what I just created in eisy ui.

Then after I hit save

replicated, looking into the issue.

Edit: fixed missing prec. 608642a, will try to push patch soon.

Upgrade seemed to go ok except it keeps telling me I have to go to Configuration, then Upgrade Packages to complete. I do this and it says successful so I reboot and it comes back and says I have to update packages again. Have done this multiple times. everything else still works. I think.

Not exactly sure what you're referring to. Do you mean the boot enviroment

Where do you see partitions?

UPDATE

I rebooted the eisy and now memory usage is showing 23%

However, upon reboot all my node servers seemed to hang up. I had to do a restart on them.

After the restart the audio player was showing volume at 40% when in fact it was at max.

@Techman thanks for posting the update. I checked mine as well. Yesterday it seemed to be fine, but when I checked was also at high 90%. Just rebooted and it came back down to 12-15%, but now creeping up to 30%. The plugins were all disconnected, but then got an alert on UD Mobile that PG3 was starting then refreshed the page and they were all connected and running.

@Michel Kohanim I do NOT have multiple partitions on the drive. It's as it was shipped.

Node has pending device writes. Will show during adding nodes or as a brief notification on start when a device has pending writes. E.g. the controller needs to write something to the device but it has not been done either because it is waiting for another process to complete or it could not communicate with the device. A badge is also shown next to the device icon in on the Nodes Page.

Thanks for the quick response. I have 4 Z-wave devices that are doing this. I tried waking them up and writing changes, but the problem persists. All of the devices are operating fine as detectors. If anyone has a tip, I'd appreciate it.

The "&" in the resource name. The admin Console does not encode them, which causes issues in xml parsers.

Ohhhh the other ampersand, ha ha.

So I am lost, where exactly in admin console am I looking? I can find a lot of '$' but not '&'

Thx, John

I upgraded from 5.9.1 to 6.1..1 no issues. Cleared Java cache but didn't delete apps. Would be nice to have some type of status indicator as it was not clear when the process was complete.

@Techman ,

Impossible. You have a partition called storage. This is absolutely not the original partition.

@Geddy ,

This is the size of zfs root is about 35G on eisy. It's more on eisy r2. As long as it's less then 50% I would not worry about it at all.

With kind regards,

Michel

Hi @Michel Kohanim , I hope I am understanding what you are telling others correctly. I show what I think you are saying is a storage partition too. I haven't touched the device since receiving it for anything but running your updates. The memory usage on mine is staying high despite a number of reboots.

Yes, I pulled the power cable, waited 10 seconds, then put it back in. The power button is blue, but i can't connect.

If you're trying through the admin console, try clearing the Java cache/temp files. I had to do that after each reboot.

Hi all, Anyone know why the end of a UD Mobile sync returns the attached screenshot. Obviously it has to do with an Insteon device, but they all appear to be working correctly.

Thanks for any insight.

Hello everyone, my sincere apologies. I was looking at the wrong thing. Memory is the RAM and Storage is the hard drive. Those values all seem correct.

@Techman ,

Someone has partitioned your disk. Again, boot environments are NOT partitions.

What's your storage partition?

@Michel Kohanim

Where do you see an additionnal partition

My Eisy is as I received it out of the box. I never modified it. The partition must have been added before it was shipped.

Can the partition be deleted, if so how?

@Geddy

My memory usage went back up to 94% this morning

What exactly is the issue with that (sometimes, too much information is not a good idea). The system has 8GB, it uses as much as it needs to keep things smooth (rather than using the swap space).

Please note that eisy | lite only has 4GB, and it also used 96% of its memory and still does perfectly fine.

In short, please do not spend too much time analyzing "one" number. If you really want to analyze memory usage, you need to use many tools (top, vmstat, procstat, etc.) and figure out what's using what. In my view, 100% futile especially if you don't have any problems with the system.

Michel

I’m good with this. No issues that I know of. Thanks.

The "top" command gives a good overall portrait of system resource usage. As Michel hinted at, most of the memory is appropriated for possible use, but not necessarily active at any given moment. Here are two screens showing the output of the top command. The first one is my eisy, running dozens of programs, many plugins (notice the several "python3.11" processes). The second one is one is my least used test Polisys:

Among the "Mem:" line is a value called "Laundry" (who said programmers don't have a sense of humor?). It's memory that's been used and freed up by a process, available for acquisition for a new task if needed. So the actual, unused "Free" value stays small, which is what what makes the percentage of memory "in use" seem high in eisy-ui.
